  1. I start my pre-op Dec. 15th or 19th... It's only a week.. I guess I'm just nervous!! My family insisted that I was doing well losing weight on my own.. LOL.. somehow, everyone has found out about my surgery...hmmmm.... I'm okay.. just need to drink more Water and not miss meals... I hope I've lost a few more pounds when I see my doc on thursday! (fingers crossed)...
  2. So, it's very close to December... a month full of decisions, preparation and hopefully, surgery for me! I've been thinking (ok, ok...stressing out) about how different my life will be and if I will ever adjust to being sleeved and the restrictions that come with my new friend. I'm a very social person and I didn't realize how much my life revolved around food and eateries until I decided to start cooking at home... My social life has come to an abrupt, but much needed snail's pace and my friends think I'm ignoring them!!! LOL... Even at work, my friends and I chat over lunch and/or Snacks... I'm looking for ways to replace this time with other satisfying, yet healthy options... I think I'm going to use a groupon and do a yoga session w/ all of my friends for my birthday or rent gym space and get a trainer friend to do a boot camp w/ my closet girlfriends followed by massages... I'm sure this is normal!! I feel so unprepared though... like, I haven't found a Protein drink that I like (I have a few more to try)...I don't know what I'm going to do about clothes and cooking and yada, yada, yada.... Just pre-op jitters???
  3. Hey Peeps!! Just checking in.. My holiday was good.. I drove to MS to be with my family.. but I caught a bug or something... I was soooo sick on Friday.. I didn't eat a lot, but I did have more sugar than I normally do... it's good to have relatives in the medical profession ... my sister popped me w/ a phenergan shot and sent me to bed!! I felt 100% better in time to drive back to Chicago... I'm a little anxious about my last pre-op appointment w/ my weight loss specialist.. I've been picking up old habits of missing meals!! UGH!!! Well, one day at a time... I keep telling myself.. Congrats to those who have been rocking their sleeve!! I pray you guys keep up the good work!!! Do let us newbies in on the secrets to success!! LOL... Best Wishes Tina
  4. You guys are AWESOME!!!! I'm so ready!! LOL.. I'm glad we have each other!! LOL
  5. Awesome job!! Very encouraging!!!! Keep up the good work!!!
  6. WOW!!! Totally amazing and very encouraging!!! Congrats, awesome job!!!
  7. You can explain.. but if he doesn't want to get it, he won't!!! When he sees the dramatic improvement in your life, health and over all well-being... coupled w/ the hard work in effectively utilizing that sleeve as the tool that it is... He will get it.. Until then, I know it my suck not having his support right now, but do this for yourself... knowing that you have a place here where people get it, understand and are going through it as well!!! Just my opinion... Best wishes!!
  8. I actually did pretty good.. until a few minutes from now when I have a piece of key-lime pie and some coffee!!! LOL.. The food was good, but not the highlight of the day... My family raved about how much weight I've lost (not really) and how since I'm losing so much weight (again, not really)... perhaps I should reconsider surgery..aaahhhh.. now the truth comes out!! LOL... I really didn't have that "this is my last time eating like this moment".. I guess, I'm so ready to get sleeved and get healthy for once in my life.. but now that I think about it... it's sooooo worth it!!! LOL Visiting home is great!!! It was a beautiful day... now, I want to sleep in my own bed!! Too bad it's over 700 miles away!!
  9. Awesome!!! You look so gorgeous!! I can't believe you're over 30!!!... I hope you had a wonderful day!!!!
  10. Awesome job!!! Congratulations!!!

  12. Welcome Dom!!! I am not sleeved yet (5 weeks, I hope!!)... Both my parents are diabetic and hypertensive.. My mom is on dialysis... I didn't want to live my life bound to medication and a machine either!! I think we've made an excellent decision!!! Best wishes!
  13. WOW!!!! Awesome Diva... AWESOME!!!!

  15. I think if you find a surgeon that you trust, go for it.. I'm unsure as to how the approval process works, I guess they approve the surgery and not just the surgeon??!!??..
