Hello All! Another Newbie :)

Hi,

I am the new girl! . I just decided to get the sleeve after months of debating. On thing that really helped me with my decision was this website! I have been on here for a couple months now reading everyone's post about their personal stories and can't wait to start mine. I have been overweight for a while now and I have high blood pressure. Both my older sister and father have Type 2 diabetes, and I don't want to be next. I just initially went to see my surgeon last week, and he seems to feel that if i get my pre op appointments done in the next month, I may be able to have the procedure at the end of January!

Welcome Dom! Congratulations on your surgery. This has been an incredible journey for me and I would do it again in a heart beat! Sending lots of good thoughts your way and looking forward to reading about your progress!!!!

Welcome Dom!!! I am not sleeved yet (5 weeks, I hope!!)... Both my parents are diabetic and hypertensive.. My mom is on dialysis... I didn't want to live my life bound to medication and a machine either!! I think we've made an excellent decision!!!

Best wishes!

Thank you for your support!!! I am excited about this. My grandmother was on dialysis as well so I know how draining that is. I have two children (a 5 year old girl, and a 18 month little boy) and I want to be able to live a full and healthy life for them. I have an appt to see the pulmonary doctor tomorrow, and my psych eval on the 6th of December. I scheduled my cardiac appt for January 5th, so everything is moving along! Can't wait for my new lifestyle, and to be able to feel good about myself when i'm in public.

I will keep everyone updated on my progress.
