    How long will I lose?

Everyone and every journey is different. Trust your surgery team to help guide you through it. Sounds like you are doing great for a new post op.

How do you end a stall?

I hit my first stall and it lasted 3 months. I took a step backs and I was super honest with myself and realized I was adding in extra calories and breaking rules every day - not just occasionally. I am a year post op so I was lucky I made it 10 months months without a stall. (I am not beating myself up, I moved my family across country and it was a huge change, my diet suffered as a result) So I decided to change up how I was eating. Cutting the extra calories and getting back to basic simple meals to focus on my core nutrition for a while. Try a new recipe and cut down those calories for a week and see what happens for you.

Last 20lbs nearly 2 years out

I am 1 year 1 month post op. I still need to lose 34lbs for my personal GW. 49 for surgeon GW. I was also bad during the holidays, so all weight loss momentum stopped and I regained about 5lbs. It wasn't so much bad food as too much food. So I decided to do a "72 hour pouch re-set". Same as the liquid diet I did for 2 weeks pre-op. (Six Atkins protein shakes a day *I prefer premier protein*, bone broth in between, all the hot tea and water I can manage in between, end of day treat of two sugar free ice pops) First 24 hours were great and I felt fabulous. I have now hit hour 30 - I hate everyone and everything (Kidding but not kidding ). Just like when I did it the first time. I have heard great things about even doing this for 48 hours to help the pouch and the brain remember how good small portions can truly be. Here's to the next 42 hours. Meanwhile I am drooling while meal planning and finding new bari-friendly recipes to try. (You look happy in your pic!)

  7. Best unflavored protein powder? Not too worried about price. More worried about taste.

    Dec 18 date and holidays!

Fortunately we are military and won’t get to see our family for the holidays. This makes holiday plans so much easier and less stressful for us. I am on my liquid diet right now and will be for thanksgiving but I am not too upset.

    December 5th

Started my two weeks liquid diet today and I am already so Hangry. My surgery is set for Dec 5th and I couldn’t be more excited. Any advice is welcome. I am nervous but so so so ready. I can’t wait to get down to a size 10. And I am excited to be able to loose enough weight so I can run again and it won’t hurt my knees.
  13. Tips and advice on how to defeat bad food cravings during pre op monitored diet?
  14. I have PCOS ( with insulin resistance and endometriosis) and I am due to get VSG surgery around the new year. I would love to hear from some fellow PCOS cysters who have had VSG surgery. Have you been successful? Anything you’ve found to be extra hard with PCOS? Any words of advice? What’s your story? Have you been able to stop taking metformin? Was your fertility restored? (We are NOT ever having children.) And other topics similar. Please share.
