Leese_A_New_Life got a reaction from GreenTealael in Pseudotumor cerebri, has anyone been approved for surgery for having this?
I used to be on 250mg of Diamox 2x daily. The side effects were terrible- tingling in hands and feet, and extreeeeeeme fatigue. It was the only thing that helped my headaches though. I suffered through the side effects. I had a swollen optic nerve and the docs were fearful of blindness. I didn't have a choice but to take the meds, I did not want to go blind. Diamox is not an end all. I also have Hashimotos diseas and PCOS which makes losing weight at a snail's pace. I hope you can sort everything out and get approved.

I'm 3 months post op VSG. The last few weeks my Multivitamin was making me very nauseous. My surgeons office recommended the patch. I'm using the Patch MD. I just hope I'm getting enough and absorbing it. I get my blood work done in 2 months so I guess I'll find out!

Since month 2 I stall for 10-14 days, then lose 5 lbs a week then stall another 10-14 days. This cycle has been my new normal. This month I haven't lost anything since 2/2 yet this week I just lost 4 lbs. Even with hitting my Water and Protein goals, and exercising. I guess this is how my body is adjusting. Everyone is different, the worst we could do is compare our journey to someone else or be hard on ourselves because we didn't lose as much as someone else. Keep up the great work Novemeber sleevers!

I was just getting ready to post asking a similar question. Today I am exactly 60 days post surgery (sleeve & switch done on 11/10), and I am down 60 lbs. Not sure why I have seen more loss than others, but I think there are other people that have lost more than me. I have not touched carbs since before the pre-surgery diet - including sugar. I do not go to the gym, but I do try to walk at least 30 mins at least 3 days a week or more. I adhere to my soft foods diet strictly.
I have stopped weighing myself every single day, but do at least every other. I seem to go a couple days on a stall, then will lose one or two. The longest stall so far has been 4 days so far.
My routine: get up between 6am and 8am (depending on the day). Have a small cup of coffee and use Fairlife chocolate Milk as the Creamer (about equal 50/50 coffee/milk). I take my first Multivitamin with this. Not long after that I will have a Premier Protein drink. Then go about my morning routine. 9am is my first food. Usually homemade yogurt using Fairlife low fat milk as the base, and add a tbsp of raw honey to give it some flavor - or a spoon of mixed fruit jam. I will also have a stick or two of weight watchers cheese (colby jack or mozzarella). I usually have 2 calcium chews after my food. I take my second Multi-Vitamin 30 mins or so before lunch. Lunch is 11:45/noon - get some kind of Protein and steamed veggies and Beans if I can. I have a decent cafe at work with usually some good options. Worst case scenario I get a small scoop of egg salad and small scoop of chicken salad. Eat half for lunch, other half for dinner. 3pm have a snack and have my last 2 Calcium chews. Usually a protein crunch bar, or a sugar free pudding made with Fairlife milk (protein helps for sure) and some cheese sticks. Dinner at 6pm, usually the same type of thing as lunch. My last multivitamin is sometime after that and before my 9pm snack of yogurt or pudding or cheese, or some combination of them.
I do not count calories. I just make sure that the fat and carb numbers per serving fit my advice from NUT. For the meals - I make sure I take as close to 30 mins to eat as I can. The slower I eat, the more I can eat. If I get something I have been craving or tastes good, I tend to eat a little quicker and get uncomfortable after about 10 mins and have to give up the rest of my time. I have not eaten anything fried in almost 3 months.
I stop drinking 30 mins before food, and do not drink again for 30 mins after.
I primarily drink Water. I usually will have one 20oz Vitarain (Costco brand version of Vitamin water zero that I like better than Vitamin water) per day. Sometimes I will have a Bai instead of Vitarain. The rest of my liquids from the day are all water and the Premier Protein I usually have early in the morning. I set my water goal as 70oz/day and want it to primarily be water instead of fake sugar substitute drinks.

I also love Bariastic App. If you have trouble with chewing, there is a timer for 20 seconds. It covers it all!

When you go to solids, you will see how little you can eat compared to before. The liquid phase for me I was constantly hungry and could drink almost all day. Dont stress it, just drink your Proteins for now.

Thank you. You are all so supportive that I’m getting teary again. I just made some other items I can have on full fluids with Protein Powder in it. I can only do so many Protein Shakes. I gagged the cream Soups the other day and have since lost my love of them. Pinterest is my savior at this point.

Remember, as the fat in your body burns off, all of the stored hormones in there literally flood your body. And you're burning fat so fast, it's a big flood. Mood swings are normal, a little sadness or regret are normal. To me, it's ok to mourn the life you had- as long as you spend more time looking forward to all of the living you have ahead of you.

Thanksgiving was a week and half post op for me, and sitting there with my 3 ounces of cottage cheese was miserable. I got through it, we all had a good laugh, and now I'm glad for that day. Couldn't have restrained myself last Thanksgiving. You'll get there.

I had my surgery the day before you and I've cried every day. I would give anything to chew food. So don't feel alone. We are in this together and together we will come out better and healthier! We got this!

I went through the same feelings and emotions you are having. I was sleeved on 11/17 the week before Thanksgiving. Here I am 15 days post op and down 21 pounds so far. I can tell you it does get better. Each day gets better. It is an emotional journey but just keep in mind the reasons you did this. I too felt ashamed that I couldn't lose the weight on my own. I felt like a failure. But the past is behind you, don't beat yourself up over it. Instead work on the present and take it day by day. I'm sure in 6 months you will look back and it will all be worth it! Good luck to you on your journey!

I've had rumbly hunger pains every day since I was sleeved on 11/17. Usually in the morning. I get my required liquids in and protein. It doesn't last long usually a few minutes. I've been on Clear Liquids and allowed protein Water for 2 weeks. I start pureed food tomorrow, I hope the hunger subsides.

Yes 64 was a struggle! I found warm fluids were easier to get down. I had more broth yesterday and Decaf tea. I'm counting down to Friday when I can start pureed!

Hi November Sleevers! I was sleeved on 11/17, I'm 8 days post op now. I am required to do a 2 week clear liquid diet for phase 1, then phase 2 I do moist and mushy in which I can add in those premier shakes, thicker Soups, sweet potatoes, and dairy! I can't wait to get passed the clear liquids. I got up to 64 oz of fluids today, the highest I accumulated since out of surgery. How is everyone doing in their phases?
