  1. I took a full two weeks off from work, was sleeved 2/13, and scheduled to come back to work 2/28, which is also the day of my first follow up appointment after work. If I'm feeling better, i may come back a few days early. However, my coworkers just know that I'm having surgery, they don't know what kind, and they're expecting me to tell them what it was when i get back. I've thought about it and i want to come up with maybe something else to tell them, i just don't think the people i work with will be very supportive of WLS and of ME, and i don't want negative energy. Any ideas?
  2. Help! I have benefiber and don't know how to incorporate it Did you just mix it into your water?
  3. I've heard that can happen, don't get discouraged!!
  4. I thought of that too, it might be less as a 300+ lbs person in the same amount of time, but it'll be relative still, that's what I'm expecting. The way my dr put it is that the surgery will help you lose 70% of excess weight, and i would think I'll get there at the one year mark. But this is an interesting thought that you brought up, let's stay in touch and see how this goes!!
  5. I'm from brooklyn too! Sleeved 2/13
  6. I'm 5'2 and started at 225, so similar to yours I don't see how these numbers would make us lose slower, i think it's very individual and based on diet and exercise as well. I'm only 5 days post sleeve so i can't say yet. Good luck!
  7. I'm 4 days out and am hating my life. I have the same issues you're having, I'm walking a lot around the house, still no BW, but I've been taking the chewable gas-x and it seems to help with the gas pain! Ask your doctor, i don't see a reason why they'd be against it
  8. So I'm 4 days out, considering milk of magnesia. Do you guys think i should do a half dose or full dose? Praying it works [emoji120]
  9. Wow I'll try that thank you!
  10. Same! It's somewhat painful sometimes with every sip, do you feel that?
  11. I do think it is mostly gas and some incision pain I'm trying to walk about 10min every hour or so, but I'm considering trying Gas-x to help with this. I'm supposed to be taking in 1-2 ounces every 20 min, so 3 servings per hour , but I'm doing only about 2 servings an hour because it takes me nearly 20 min to drink 1 ounce
  12. Yes thank you!! I'm working on getting through one protein shake throughout today, although the paperwork says i should have two a day Hopefully tomorrow i can aim for 2 shakes Still taking pain medicine every 4 hours, because why not keep myself more comfortable?
  13. I just got sleeved 2/13, so I'm two days post op, came home last night I'm in SO much pain, none of the painkillers are helping me, i can barely sleep. Someone please tell me it gets easier soon
  14. Ive been thinking about this for a while, of whether or not to tell my coworkers and what to tell them. I thought about telling them once i was back at work, but today i realized that they don't seem like they'd be very supportive people, and they'd just be judgmental, i don't want that. So i think i might just go the "gallbladder surgery" route or something like that
  15. funny because i never heard of this before and it wasn't given to me as instructions, my surgery is tomorrow and my friend is an anesthesiologist and he said nail polish had to come off ! But i called my hospital and they said i can leave it on--- it probably depends on your place and their equipment
  16. Yep mine is on 2/13 and today was the first day I've been VERY nervous all day
  17. Which ones are you using? I have premier protein and i like them, i also liked the gnc ones
  18. Scheduled for 2/13! Anyone from NY here?
  19. I'm scheduled for 2/13! I'm in NY though, good luck!
