  1. I want to Know if instant soup is acceptable, I want to know if I can have 8 oz of the soup liquid?
  2. SO today is day 10 and I started my diet at 224 and am know at 216 lbs. When i first got my pamphlet i thought this would be easy because I thought  I could control my self. But dear god this has been the hardest journey of my life. Childbirth was more straightforward than not eating. I have had more cravings for things that I never really ate since I started. I won't lie I have cheated but food high in proteins. I felt discouraged until I saw I was loosing weight but right know this journey is extremely hard. I salute all who are currently doing their diets and those of you who are long pass this stage. ::) just a few more days to go.

Yes it did. I was on pre-op for 2 weeks and managed to lose about 19lbs before I went under. Surgery went fine. The biggest advise I can give is start moving as soon as you feel up for it. Even if it is walking +/- 5 minutes at first. I had my operation on Wednesday morning. I was home Thursday afternoon and just walking around my house for a few minutes. Come Friday afternoon I was taking short walks up and down the sidewalk. It really help especially if you get gas pain in the shoulder area like most do after laparoscopic based surgery.

Pre-op is by far the hardest as far as exercising willpower. You still have all of your hunger hormones, honeymoon period will not start until post op. Hang in there!

  3. I am 5 days into my Pre-op diet and i have had slip ups every day. They have not been fatty food and very small portions. I have a family so when preparing meals it is very challenging for me. I read that it was ok to eat sardines so i do but only once since i started my diet. I am loosing weight so that is a good sign. During the day I am so busy that i sometimes forget to drink my liquids, i feel that nights are the hardest for me because i have to make dinner and lunch for the kids.

You can buy ziploc bags in the shape of a freezie and add 0 calorie drink flavours (cool aid etc) and I hate the shakes, so I lived off optifast shake cookies (add 1 egg white and 1 cup splenda) and bake for 10 min, at 350) it just adds 10 calories and adds protein. You can have as many freezies as you want in the evening. I am post surgery and still have them as a treat and helps to get my water in.
