You should check the source of the pain with your doctor - shouldn't be that sharp 2 months post-op. Gas is usually dissolved by that time completely.

Gallbladder issues are common after the sleeve. Better get checked out if you haven't had it removed. Can cause pain in back and other places

Gas pain two months post op. I don't think so. They inflate your stomach but not two months worth.

41 lbs down at a little over 2 months. So far so good. I’m having a lot of gas pains in my shoulder and neck area really badly. Almost as bad as they were right after surgery. I’m drinking Water plenty of it that’s all I️ drink. I️ eat clean except for thanksgiving of coarse I️ really don’t know why the pains are so sharp and bad I️ walk around. Anyone else experiencing this? Anything I️ can take?

Has anyone tried this? Does it give all the Vitamins needed for Bariatric sleeve patients. I'm very interested in buying this versus taking all the pill and chewable formats of vitamins but wanted some feed back before I purchase. Any tips, suggestions, comments or concerns?

My post op diet lasts for 3 months. My doctor provided me with a sleeve guide that he wrote himself which is like my bible. It has detailed guidelines for what I should be eating when and I am so grateful for it. It really takes a lot of the guess work out of it, I can just open up my sleeve manual and know what to eat. It even has sample menus for days from each phase. I am in my 4th week now and just started soft foods. I am definitely enjoying my journey it's given me a really great challenge and I get to put my cooking skills to the test coming up with really tasty Soups and purées. My soups come out so good my grandmother and aunt have started eating with me and they lost some weight as well. Just take it easy and enjoy the journey you'll be eating back to normal before you know it.

I did full liquids from 3 days post op for 2 weeks, 2 weeks purée, then 4 weeks soft foods. I just started normal but I am still going for mostly softer foods. Some "normal" foods are getting stuck in my chest area.

It could be the gas in your body, make sure that you are walking, mine was the gas in my body!

Being intubated may cause a sore throat, but not chest pain. I would call your doctor.

Could it be the pain from where the breathing tube was in surgery? That lasts for awhile

Am I going to have to sip slow forever? I've always been big on drinking plenty Water and I feel like I'm dying of thirst right now and can't do anything but sip it slowly. Will this be always or just couple weeks out

I have been wondering the same thing. I can take three sips, then I have to wait at least ten minutes. I go back to work tomorrow, so I'm going to have to seriously readjust! I'm thirsty all the time too. Glad to hear it gets easier!

This is what I thought too. But it gets better. I am 8 weeks out and can now do moderate sips. Medium sips. And a couple at a time. It's pretty close to normal. But I can't do what I used to do, guzzle say three big swallows. That still hurts. And I'm glad it does. There came a point, maybe around 7 weeks, where eating started to get easy. I was devastated, thought I maybe wasn't sleeved tight enough. Made a few mistakes, ate too fast or didn't chew enough, and found I still had the painful restriction. WHICH IS WHAT I WANT!!! It's why I did this. But it does get easier to get the Water down. Hang in there.

It will get easier. Make sure you do the breathing exercises. That helps. I'm a week out and still have some chest pain, but better each day.

I think you need to notify your doctor, just so they're aware - to be on the safe side.

That pain was so awful! I feel so bad for you! If it's not better by now call your doc. There is no reason for you to be in that pain for so long.

Is this normal? You bet it is! Lots of us experienced regret. Soon you're going to start feeling better. Weight is going to start coming off, you're going to start fitting into smaller clothes, people will notice. That feeling of regret will fade away. You'll reach a point when the only thing you'll regret is not doing this sooner. Congratulations on your surgery! Good luck!

Pain is what the patient says it is. You are the one feeling this pain and people here who have gone through this type of surgery believe you. Some have more pain than others. Our body types are different. It gets better though. Give it a few more days. Again, some people regret after the surgery but the benefits will outweigh these initial teething problems. Hope you feel better soon Dominique. You have done the hard part already.
