I found an app that helps me keep track of my liquid intake. Go to your app store and look at the different apps that are available. I have a 32oz water bottle that I drink all day. I fill it twice to get mt 64oz of liquids. The first few days after surgery were the hardest as for getting in my liquids. I drank Water, herbal tea, chicken broth and ate sugar free Jello and sugar free ice pops.

It actually has to do with the way we are post surgery as well. After surgery I didn't and couldn't eat the way I did before. I turned down many invitations to dine out. I'm sure after awhile the invites will stop coming. The difference between me and you is I'm 60 and your still young (as another poster pointed out) for me, it's no big deal if my friends don't invite me to dine out. I have one singular goal and that's be healthy. As another poster pointed out, if I continue to do what my friends do I might go back to my old eating habits. Those habits caused me to have heart problems, diabetes, sleep apnea, gout and other health problems. I'm 30lbs down and most of my meds are gone. I no longer snore at night , my A1c went down and my BP is at an all time low. Sometimes in life we have to make a clean break and start new beginnings. WLS was a total reset for me and my plans are to try my best to learn new healthier habits and get rid of my old unhealthy habits.

When I got my surgery date I went on a food farewell tour. Went to all my favorite restaurants and ate my favorite foods. I felt that I probably wouldnt be going back to those restaurants or eating those foods. Six weeks post op I’m feeling good about the surgery and best of all I dont miss the restaurants or food.
From what I’m reading food funerals or farewell tours aren’t unusual.

I'm a guy and I'm with you 100%. I told a few close relatives about my surgery. They all kept it quiet as did my wife. A friend once told me that he was dying of cancer. I confided this with my wife and told her not to tell anyone since it wasn't our place to say anything. Another neighbor made a comment about how my friend doesn't look so good. My wife told her that he was dying of cancer. I was beside myself, a trust was broken and it really bothered me. My wife to her credit realized that she did wrong and I'm sure it wont happen again. The difference between my wife and your husband is that she realized what she did was wrong. Your husband doesn't see that he did the wrong thing by betraying your confidence.
As for me, I don't think its anyone's business what I decide to do as far as my health is concerned. As for explaining the weight loss I tell people at work that four of my friends and me each put $1000 in a pot and the one to lose the most weight by new years wins the pot. Basically, I told them I'm on a diet to win $5,000. It seems to be working as most people at work don't even comment on my weight loss after the explanation.

I was a self professed professional coffee drinker. I loved my coffee. I could drink a cup and go right to sleep. My nutritionist had me give up caffeine three months prior to my surgery. She told me to drink herbal tea. I'm six weeks post op and I haven't gone back to coffee. Strange, I thought that I would go right back to it after surgery. I put 1/2 and 1/2 and splenda in my coffee. I drink the tea plain without anything added. So far herbal tea has been a better choice as I look to stay healthy and slim down.

The worst thing for me is the feeling of being full all the time. I never had this feeling in my life. I had such a good relationship with food and now we're estranged. I eat the foods that I'm allowed but find that I can't eat much and I don't get pleasure from eating. I'm sure over time this feeling will be my new norm but for now it's a very strange feeling. I'm still glad that I had the surgery.

I'd wait, I have a big family and we get together during the holidays. Since I didn't tell anyone about the surgery I wouldn't want to have to make excuses to my whole family why I wasn't eating or why I was losing weight during the holidays. After the holidays it would just me and the wife and far fewer people I have to explain things to.

I used to take Probiotics before surgery. I stopped after surgery figuring my stomach was smaller and I wouldn't get any benefit from them. Anyone here taking probiotics after WLS?

i still feel like i am the same person before surgery,
First off congratulations on your weight loss. As for feeling like the same person, if you're decent human being no matter how much you change physically you will always probably feel the same. I wouldn't look at this as something that needs to be changed. Always be true to thyself.

You can do most things that you want. All you need to do is plan it out. When I go out I bring my soft sided ice cooler with two 32 oz Water bottles, 2 containers of muscle milk Protein Shakes, two Snacks such as string cheese, a portion of baked chicken breast or other high Protein meal and anything else that I feel that I will need to get through the time I'm away from home. You will be drinking a lot of water so, make sure you bring enough with you.
Go, enjoy your kids and their holiday activities.

I had to go to the doctor and have my BP med adjusted. It was lowered. I was getting dizzy now, I'm ok. So due to your surgery and weight loss your BP will probably be lower.

I choose the sleeve because it was a less intrusive surgery. Six weeks out and I'm off all my diabetes meds and my blood pressure med was reduced. Down 29lbs so far.
