Other nsv, my new obsession with actually trying on clothes lol. Was always afraid to because things didn’t fit and I’d be disappointed. Not the case anymore!

Hmmm, current nsv, not gaining over the thanksgiving holiday. I mean I don’t cook for thanksgiving but still. My weight has been stalling like crazy but my measurements are still shrinking. I was able to fit into a size 14 pair of jeans earlier in the month. Impossible!

I had this same issue with my knee length boots! It used to take a lot of pulling and squeezing to get them zipped. I went to wear them last week and they wouldn’t stay up my calves, because they were too big!

Any ideas on where to buy boots for in between calf widths? Pretty sure my legs are still too meaty for regular width boots.

I forgot to take full body shots at the event, but here's the initial "should I buy this?" dressing room image. Ignore bra straps visible in photo, wore a strapless bra on the night. And I wore MUCH better shoes, and unbelievably, they didn't hurt even after four hours of mingling - these were spike heels. And did I mention that freakishly, my shoe size went down .5? This entire experience is bizarre.
Some of my colleagues didn't recognize me and apparently asked whose wife I was.

I haven’t been around the forums in a little while. Today’s non scale victory is clothing. Prior to surgery I wore a 3x top/size 24 jeans. Today I went to try on clothes and fit a large top/size 17 jeans. I’m so proud of my progress even though it can’t really see a difference most days

Hello All my lovely Bari Brothers and Sisters!
My apologies too for my silence. I've been in one word...BUSY! As I'm sure you all have too. But I wanted to give you a quick update. Made it back from London last Friday, and drumroll...I lost 2lb in my week there! For the first time in never! Like I always GAIN 5-7 lb a trip! So that was amazing for me! I did not eat out even once and did very well. Keeping my travel scales with me kept me honest as well. In the few days I've been home, I went back to Vegan and had lots of good fruits and veggies and I even had white rice AND I lost another 2.5 lb and am down to 229.2!!! So very thrilled about this!

I had 5 short days at home with hubby and kids and I am flying out to France this afternoon. Ergo, the business! As I tried to cram as much hug time and trick or treat time and fall festival time with them as I could. On this trip the hotel options were not so good. No kitchenette, or even microwave. Just a tiny cooler in my hotel room. How will I manage...I've taken a lot of Protein stuff with me, but I'll just have to...figure it out there 😕 I'm trying so so SO hard to do this right, but French pastries galore await me (this is my downfall), so yeah, say a prayer for me to have the power of will and presence of mind to resist.

Wishing you all an amazing Fall time frame. Really would like to hear how everyone is doing.
    Love and Hugs,
    Ellie123

So my boss is planning on bringing in treats for us to eat while at work on Halloween since everyone has to work. He’s bringing candy. Same with Christmas. He stopped yesterday and asked me what I can eat so he can bring that so I’m getting black berries as a treat 😂😂 love my boss!! He’s the best lol.

I’m down to 205!! 6 lbs till the 100’s!!!! Starting weight was 252, surgery weight was 242. I’m eating about 530 calories a day, 11g carbs, still struggling with Protein. I can’t afford to do Protein Powder at this time so I’m trying my best to get it from food but most days I’m closer to 40 than 60 grams. I’m getting around 30-40 grams of fats.

Breakfast is pretty much the same each day: 1 bacon, one fried egg (cooked in the bacon grease, 3-4 blackberries, and 1/4 an avocado. Comes out to about 207 calories. I was doing chili cheese dogs for lunch (1/4 cup homemade chili, 1 all beef dog and 2 tbsp shredded cheddar—no bun) but I ran out of chili. Now trying to find something new to eat. Didn’t get enough Water yesterday. :/ gonna try better today. Honestly I’m not feeling hungry today. I found that guacamole is a good snack for me. I found that if I go to chipotle and order a steak burrito bowl with no rice or Beans, just steak, cheese, guac, salsa and lettuce it’s pretty good!! I can eat about 1/3-1/2 of it. And it’s not bad cold :)

But im still struggling with what to eat each day ugh. I can’t go to chipotle every day. I can’t make chili every week. And I’m so tired from work—closing on weekends sucks.

I bought a size 10 lingerie set before I was even finished with my pre-op requirements, lol. It’s the only purchase I’ve made though. I hope to fit it eventually, even if my body tricks me and decides to go smaller than a 10, at least I’ll get to wear it for a few weeks 😂😂

True, I've been at maintenance since July...not long at all. Touche. You're right.
And I'm also having a hell of a time keeping my weight up. I'd like to be 170...today the scale says 162.
I have been actively trying to stop my weight loss for three month. Most days I eat 1600 calories, but I try for 1700-1800. That's a LOT of food when you eat mostly fruits and veggies and complex carbs. I'm not a big 'fats' eater and I limit animal Proteins to 3 servings or so a week. I do get 60g of Protein a day....mostly from carbs/plant sources. I also get at least 25g of dietary Fiber a day. I avoid dairy. Am currently trying to eat more nuts.
While I want to weigh 170, my team says my body might have other ideas....and to trust my body. This is probably really good advice.
But yeah...part of my focus lately has been arresting my weight loss. My posts probably reflect that.
Believe it or not....there are others who are coping with this issue.
There are a lot of DIFFERENT experiences represented on this board:)

Yep, I eat them all. Love them. They're a daily part of my diet. Sometimes multiple times a day.
    OMG, they're carbs!
Yep, they are. But they're not refined, over-processed, or bad.
And you know what else they are?
Excellent sources of plant based Protein and Fiber.
A baked potato has 160 calories. By itself, it has 4g of protein. Throw some vegetarian chili on there and you're in the high teens. Awesome lunch!
Brown rice...half a cup has around 100 calories and 3g of protein. Add some bean or peas and you've got complete amino acids...tons of protein... and a crazy awesome amount of fiber.
Why is dietary fiber important? To grow good gut bugs. Your microbiota and the health of your gut (and metabolism) depend on happy little bacteria. The strains of gut bugs that live in the guts of skinny people....have a favorite food: dietary fiber. Feed your good bugs good things and they'll be good to you.
They like to eat fruit, veggies, Beans, whole wheat bread...
Whole wheat bread? I eat this A LOT:)
For instance.....A lite Thomas English wheat muffin has 5g of protein for 100 calories. This dietary powerhouse has 8g of dietary fiber! Smear that sucker with your favorite nut butter or fruit preserves, and you're in business.
One of my favorite go-to dinners these days...... is fresh homemade wheat bread with 16 veggie soup...and fruit for dessert.
I eat about four servings of fruit a day...and that's not even counting the watermelon I huddle over in the car while hissing "My Precious...." LOL:)
A banana is not "a candy bar" A banana is a wonderful healthy food. I eat lots of them. Hell, I have a Yonanas that makes them into ice cream. They're terrific.

Normal weight does not HAVE to mean giving up carbs. It means being carb smart, balancing, and making mindful choices.
More than one way to do this whole thing.
Weight loss success does not mean ONLY eating meat for the rest of your life with broccoli on the side. That's great once in a while, though!
Not trying to tell anyone they're doing it wrong.....just sayin'....there's more than one way to do it right:)

Extreme thinking, extreme dieting, extreme self denial....is not sustainable.
Work on a forever diet you can live with.
Be mindful, be accountable....but be kind to yourself.
