I can't speak from a surgery standpoint (I'm only on nutrition class 1 out of the 7 required by my insurance) but I also hated vegetables and used to do smoothie. I started exercising vegetables better after going meatless for 6 months. Cleansing my palette of meat changed my tastebuds so much. I eat meat again but I enjoy vegetables more. Have you thought about trying veggie burgers? You may tolerate them better. Congrats on your surgery date and good luck!

I start this Tuesday and it makes me so excited cuz that means surgery is close by. I have tho of the cheating part and if I do it would be only one beer... is a welcoming party. [emoji37]
But i have done fasting before .. I can handle it!! ( I hope [emoji1374])

From 289.7LBS to 138LBS, 15 months post-surgery!   

Everything went well and I️ am recuperating at my moms. Surprisingly, she’s been wonderful about everything! I feel blessed

Just a little over 3 months post op - 41 lbs down. -progress pic -- face has slimmed down - no neck rolls or double chin lol kind of embarrassed but ya...lol

2 years 7 months after gastric bypass. From 258 down to 125 and size 24 down to size 3.

...and guess what that head strong, very opinionated family I was worried about and sent those letters to right before I️ went into the OR all showed up to the hospital and were waiting to greet me when I️ woke up in recovery!

Good morning. Had my surgery at 9am yesterday (11/7) . I am surprised how well i feel. Maybe its the pain meds, or nausia meds in my iv but very little pain, i only dry heave when walking. This morning I start with clear fluids. I hear this may be. challenging. Hope you early November dates are doing great.

It was a long day but everything went well. I've been given a diet and exercise guide. Its time to put it in action. Hopefully I've lost something by the time I go to my second appointment next month. Excited and terrified at the same time!

I don’t post on here much I mainly read and get advice, but I wanted to post about my progress I had gastric bypass in April 2017 a few complications with balloon dilation, 3 of them! But I’m so glad I had this surgery, it’s changed my life for the better. I can keep up with my 3 year old son better, work is so much easier, and life in general is better. I feel like I’m a happier person. Sometimes I still struggle with my brain, I think it still is sees the fat persons I once was, but I look at old pictures to remind myself no look you’ve come so far!!! My family is supportive as much as they can be but they all struggle with weight and eating with them is difficult. I usually have to bring something different.
I find it’s still hard to get the 80 grams of Protein my dr wants me to get but I try every day! I’ve mastered Water and vitamins!

Yes, all set and ready to go! Bag is packed, daughter situated, got all my supplements and drinks! Super excited to get this over with! I’m actually feeling better than I was a few days ago. ..

I believe so too! Plus places like this out of some i see, inspired us to do it even more.. those before and after pics of others, i cant wait to put mines!

Yes! God forbid! And the heartburn is awful! Mine has calmed down but it was pretty bad. My metabolism died before I even hit my teen years, lol. And the aches and pains of carrying around extra weight is no fun either. I think we are definitely making the right choices for ourselves (and in your case, for your family).

Ahhh kinda like me! I don’t have them but my parents did.. and i know if i keep gaining i might get them ( God forbid for both us). Plus i dont know if i mentioned, i suffer from heartburn- which sleeve would’ve made it worse. My metabolism .. what is that? 🤣 mines has been on vacation since i was 21 especially after giving birth!

All. Thank you so much for relating, sharing your thoughts and the encouragement and support. At the end of the day my biggest challenge is with what's in my head and appreciating what I look like now. I want to read through and reply, however will do the easy thing first. Here's my now, meow =) .
