That I said correct. Some people's hunger hormone returns, some people's don't. Mine could come back, but it hasn't yet. I'm taking full advantage of that.

I wonder if you contacted bariatric pal if they could find something comparable to this item.
I've had great help from them. They have great customer service! Someone there even got back to me on a Sunday! I was shocked and so pleased.
They have so many products that would take us forever to research!

    Hi Yvonne 47,
I'd say you are in the average ballpark. I looked at my fitness pal app to see where I was at your time mark. I was at 53 lbs lost. However, I was at 298 a week after surgery. It's possible that you have less weight to lose than I did. Stay on track, you've got this!

Still going strong. My lifts are still increasing, though I'd say not nearly as quickly as when I first started. Same could be said with building muscle.the first 6 months it seemed like muscle packed on quickly. It seems to build much slower now. I'm still working out 6 days per week.

Walking into a store, not digging to the rear of the rack or looking to see where the Plus sizes are hidden. Buying something because I like the style or color, not just because all they have that WILL FIT. And not having to stand to one side so people can get through. Wearing shorter skierts and even shorts in public and having people not suck in their breath as I walk or saunter by, the Dr are some of my Dream NSVs.

In general, I have been very honest with people about my surgery. I didn't broadcast it on social media but if anyone asked me, I answered truthfully. That way I didn't need to keep track of who I told what, kwim? (My choice, you can all choose for yourselves.) However, now that I am close to goal weight, people have started asking if I intend to lose any more weight, and then promptly tell me not to. Believe me, I am nowhere near anorexic. I'm still a solid size 14 in most clothes. I think their perception is the "difference" in my weight, not in the physical reality of what I weigh now.
Anyway, my truthful time is over. When they ask, I'm just going to say "Nope, I think I'm good." Then I'll proceed to do whatever the heck I want to do anyway. Sort of like being a teenager again. I doubt anyone but me (and probably hubby) will actually notice if I lose another 5-10 pounds but the subject is not up for public debate, especially with people who want to tell me how bad I'll look.

Deemar007 reacted to Angelx in Hi everyone!
I'm super shy and haven't really reached out to anyone yet. My entire process started really slow and has literally been moving so fast that it's hard to keep up. I started this process in July. My highest weight was 401 and my current weight is 360. I met with the surgeon yesterday, my surgery is scheduled for next Friday and my liquid diet starts today. It's hard to believe that I've met all my goals, got cleared from nutrition and psychology and saw the surgeon in just a few months. It been almost surreal. I'm hoping to make a few friends and help encourage people going through this process too! Here's a little bit about me:
    Name: Angel
    Age: 26
    Height: 5'8
    Cw: 360
    Hw: 401
Nice to meet everyone! Good luck on your journeys.

    Really? How do you figure?
    Let's do basic math. mkay?
I weight 150lbs (this isn't even my ideal weight...it is just my current average weight).
    150lbs / 2.2 kg/lb = 68.18kg (my current average weight expressed in kilograms).
Now you're saying the researchers suggest 0.8g/kg of weight.
So multiply 68.18kg by 0.8g/kg and you get= drumroll please!!!!!!!!!!
    68.18kg x 0.8g/kg= 54g of Protein needed.
That is his recommendation. But the USDA puts about a 10% additional protein req on that "just to play it safe and not kill people" so it becomes rounded up to around 60g.
(OK, forget biochem. Maybe you guys should start with 5th grade math skills class??)

Except you and Summerset are misrepresenting facts. LOLOLOLOLOL.
The % has no bearing in a severly calorie restricted diet.
A 150lb "normal" human who it NOT engaged in intermittent fasting that includes autophagy, STILL needs roughly between 60-80g of Protein per day REGARDLESS of the caloric intake. Just because the new anatomy allows us to consume a VLC (very low calorie diet) does NOT negate the need for "adequate" protein consumption. You protein needs are based on many variables: lean body mass, level of activity, extremity of activity, age, sex, genetic, amount of broken metabolism. MANY variables. LOL. You don't "suddenly" and mysteriously need less protein just because you eat fewer cals.
ROFLMFAO. Good heavens. Go take basic biochemistry at least! Please????

Wow it has been awhile since I have posted. I’m at 303 and this week I’m really going to keep my calories in check. I’m 38lbs away from my next goal of 265. So, here we go! Hopefully I’ll check in this Friday to see how my week went!

How long do you need to be on Clear Liquids?
i was required to drink liquid Protein Drinks. I used skim milk and Carnation Instant Breakfast since I could no longer tolerate the boost they wanted us to drink. I was not hungry, so it was not a problem for me.
i hope you feel better soon. The struggle is real! But so worth it!
