  1. Happy 48th Birthday bodybutter64!

  2. Almost 10 weeks out and NO this isn't something I would ever do again, I had the band first and it was awesome, I had an erosion so it had to come, i waited two years before having the sleeve and its just been a nightmare it took me much longer to recover, always tired and 10 weeks out I've only lost 35 pounds- I fight with myself on a daily bases about what I should eat and what I shouldn't eat- am I really hungry or is it my mind playing with me? Worry about getting in enough protein, worry about getting enough excersise etc. Nope if I could turn back time I wouldn't have this surgery.

    11 Day out~

11 days out today, and I'm feeling really good! I still have my WTH moments but for the most part I feel good, I had my drain removed 9 days after surgery and I tell yeah it was the best feeling ever to not have that thing hanging around any more. I have a appointment on Monday with the Doctor and I'm thinking hes going to release me back to work and I can't wait I'm tired of being home. Having a hard time getting 50 grms of Protein in through Water/juice no problems but wow a Protein shakes takes me forever and I feel so full! has anyone tried a protein shot? to meet their required protein? if so what kind? Has anyone run into the problem of not being able ot wear their pants? my stomach is so bloated I can't snap my jeans? very odd. Best of luck everyone,

recovery time after band removed due to slip?

Hello, I'm sorry you had to have your band removed and I hope your feeling better, I had my band removed and went back to work 5 days later, I was pooped and had a hard time getting through the work days at first I would say that it took me about 8 weeks before I started to feel "normal" again, but in that 8 weeks I also gained 24 pounds. its been a hard road but I'm determined to get my weightloss back on track Band or No Band. Good LUck to you.
  6. Well I told myself that I wouldn't gain my weight back but guess what I am now 24 pounds heavier than I was on December 8th. Today I went to the doctors, I am disgusted with myself, I am in menopause, I have been going to ZUMBA 3 days a week and ZUMBA toning 3 days a week, with walking each day and no change on the scale and its all because I can’t control myself around food- all the work it took me to lose the weight with the band and I’m putting it back on. The doctor said you did it once without the band you can lose again, you have to change your mind set he is right so starting tonight I’ll go shopping for some healthy food, no more fast food, no more crap fat laden meals. I have 50 pounds to lose and I’ll be damn if not having my lap band is going to make me not lose that to hell with MENOPAUSE- its time to take control of my life! And get to hell out of these fat clothes OMG summer is here and I can’t stand myself in shorts.. I have let the past 3.5 months of food control me, no more!

    Band was removed

Thank you for the replys, I am determined to not gain my weight back and with my Doctors help I'm sure its going to be fine. My Band truly became a part of me, you know I depended on it to control my eating when I knew I couldn't now I have to step up to the plant and know ONE COOKIE IS ENOUGH. Holiday season is not the easiest season to lose a band but hey if I can maintain through this month I'll be doing well. Take care and Happy Holidays everyone.

    Band was removed

I went to the doctors today to have my staples removed God I love that doctor of mine- I explained that I was worried about gaining the weight back, his reply don't worry we will work with you, so next month once everything heals and I'm back to "normal" I'll go meet up with the Nutritiest and get on a healthy diet.. ah I feel so much better I am so determined to not gain this weight back band or no band.

    Band was removed

Well on 12/8/09 my Band was removed due to erosion- I feel lost without it, but yet still pretty darn full for some darn reason. I went into the hospital on 12/8 and left on 12/9 I was home and in my own bed by 8pm that night. Crying and scared- I think more emotional due to morphine they gave me, today is 12/16 and I'm back at work drinking lots of Water and hoping to watch all that I eat and drink so I don't gain back my 70 pounds. but only time will tell I guess- there will be no new band for me as the insurance won't pay for it and my doctor will not reband someone that had an erosion. well folks wish me luck will you.

What are the symptoms of band erosion?

Thank you, I am only 30 pounds away from Goal so the insurance won't cover a new band or any other Weight loss surgery- my Doctor also has a rule that he won't replace a band on someone that has erosion- with each passing day I am adjusting to the fact that its going to be gone as of Next Tuesday 12/8- I told my family tonight that was hard I know they are worried I will gain the weight back just like I am. But it has to come out and I'll just have to be very careful. I will be glad when the surgery is over, I am abit worried about having to be in the hospital for 3 days with a drain that just sound nasty and painful- but I hear its necessary, so I'll do what I have to do.

What are the symptoms of band erosion?

I had my Band put in on May 19, 2008 I love this band of mine and a week ago I was told it needs to come out so next week December 9th I'm heading into the hospital to have it removed - I have band erosion I am not in pain they only realized my band had eroded due to my endoscope procedure I had stopped losing weight and i had 8 CC's in my band - I am so sad and worried about this process I have read that when the band is removed they do a cut on the abdomon another scare I am scared I'll gain all the weight back its been such a long road- 70 pounds gone with 30 to go I should be happy I made it this far but I am scared- anyone else ever have their band removed? what was the recovery time? Doc told me I'll be in the hospital for 3 days! to have the band put in I was there for one day! and back to work in three.

    Yikes Gaining Weight!

I had lost 68 pounds after surgery which was May 19, 2008 in the past 2.5 months I have gained 14 pounds! OMG I am freaking out- I found out that my thyroid is a mess and just started my Meds this past Monday but I am totally freaking out pants are getting tight and I'm just uncomfortable- going back to see my lap band doctor on July 27th for a fill, I currently have 5cc's the last time I had one cc put in they had to remove it due to the restricition- Doctor says once my meds kick in I will be feeling better and the weight should come off again- but this has been an eye opener! Anyone else ever have this issue with the thyroid after lapband surgery?

Weigh in... how much have u lost?

I've had one fill and I'm stuck at a 65 pound loss with 33 more to go- I don't know if I want to try another fill seems the last time I had 1 cc put in I ended up having to have it removed due to not being able to swallow anything - OK I"M SCARED. I have major skin slack too, only big thing on me now is my Belly is anyone else suffering from a big belly? I now have no legs or butt.. I guess I won't meet my goal by May 19th to have lost the whole 98 pounds, but for now I feel good.

Hello Everyone, All is going well now that I had the 1cc removed on 12/22 it was tough going there for a month between 11/24 and 12/24 I was thankful when I had the 1cc removed I can now eat and drink Water which was a struggle- I am loving the -56 pounds I have so much more energy- this was truly one of the best decisions I have ever made even when things were hard I would never go back to the way I was. Keep up the good fight my fellow may bansters. B~
