    Why Duodenal VS Sleeve

I had a ds and I love it! You have to do what’s best for you, but the malabsorption is not as bad as it seems. I went from 410 to 155 in 2 yrs. it’s been 5 years and I do not have to worry with counting calories or fat. Just keep carbs low and exercise and I maintain within 5 lbs or so. It is a huge adjustment at first, both physically and mentally. For me it was the best option.
  2. Just take is slow. Your healing and your body is adjusting. It’s normal to not be able to get it all in this early. Sounds like your doing well.

Premier protein chocolate.. low carb abs about 1.50 each. So easy to grab one to start my day.

    Vitamin/Supplement Requirements DS

I take several vitamins, a multi made by my surgeons office, calcium, and iron. I take A and K and I get a yearly shot for but D. I run low on zinc to that’s been added as well.

    Long term DS patient experience

I don’t care how much I have lost I still see that 400 each time I step on the scale! Try not to be hard on yourself. Get back to basics.. carbs under 50g, lots of water.. it will be a tad bit slower loosing but your body is there to help. I myself want to try to shed 10lbs so let’s keep each other motivated!

    Long term DS patient experience

I’m not to far off from 5 yrs from a revision of rny to Ds. 5/13. The revision was not easy..had issues that kept me in the hospital 2 months. I can say once I got over the initial operation and settled into the loosing phase all went well. I went from 400 to 155. As of today I’m at 160. My health is fine, energy is great, and I’ve never had many issues with my blood work. I have it checked every 6 months. Sometimes I have to change up supplements.. I run low on zinc at times and calcium is up and down but nothing serious. As far as eating I can eat more than I did those first few years.. I just monitor my carb intake and protein. I don’t count calories or fat. Actually fat needs added into my diet. I still drink a protein shake each morning, it kind of wakes my tummy up.
  7. I had a full ds 5 years ago. I use the app to track protein and carbs. I've never worried about calories. I have had to make sure I get in enough fat as well. I drink a premier shake each morning, it kind of wakes my tummy up. I try to stay within a 5 to 7 lb range, if I get on the high side I make sure carbs stay under 50g a day. I usually maintain weight at about 75g of carbs a day.

    Food Channel

I laughed when I read this. When I was first at home recovering I could do nothing but watch this channel! Long story short I had a rough revision to ds.. many months of almost nothing to eat. Fast forward 5 years and all is well.. including my cooking skills [emoji4]

    Constipation

I'm almost 5 years out from revision of Rny to ds.. anything high in fat or sugar gets me. I've been at goal a few years but I bounce around 5/7 lbs. when I hit that high side I usually eat buttered popcorn or a few cookies. Gets things moving for me. You are still recovering though.. dr advice might be wise.
