    I WANT FOOD!!!

I know exactly how you feel, but you must follow your doctor’s orders or you can make yourself sick. Then you’ll know what motivation really is. It does get easier.

    Help! Painful acid.

The only experience I have with acid meds is Nexium. It’s the best in my opinion. You can get it over the counter.

Thank you. But I have eaten hamburger and green beans before with no problems. I don’t know why last night was different.

    Buddies Group - Surgery Dec 4 to 15, 2017

Surgery was Dec 13. Yesterday I ate hamburger meat and green beans, which I have eaten before. It hurt as they went down. Couldn’t keep them down. Sigh.

    Surgery was Yesterday

I was the same way. My dietitian told me to concentrate on getting my water, and not necessarily on all the protein. Right now water is the most important because you do not want to become dehydrated. It does get better. ❤️

3 day post op second guessing my decision

I know exactly how you feel. My first two weeks were hell on earth. 3rd week was a little better. i am now five weeks out. I’’m feeling much better, but i’m Still on the fence as to whether this was worth it.
  9. My surgeon, in the states, does about 4 corrective surgeries a month on people who went to Mexico. I’m sorry that you’re so sick, and am praying you heal completely.

I’ve tried eating the beans with a touch of guacamole, and I got diarrhea both times.

    I have a leak!

I am so sorry that you are so ill. I, personally believe that it IS the skill of the surgeon. Did he tests for leaks during your surgery? My surgeon did. I hope your recovery is very soon. ❤️
  13. Go to the store and buy a Fleet Enema. They’re not bad at all. Then after you use it, begin to take a stool softener everyday. Bless you!

    December 2017 Gastric Bypass!

You can also buy a stool softener over the counter. You may need to use one of those Fleet enemas first. I stopped with those protein shakes because of the constipation! Yuck! Also, cottage cheese is a great source of protein. You can eat that with canned fruit in its own juice.

    Second Thoughts......

This is my personal opinion only. If I was in such doubt, I would wait. Wait another 6 months until you’re sure of your decision.
  16. The coffee made me feel better all over. And, I didn’t get the least bit sick from it. I could only drink about a half a cup, but it did help me feel better in many ways.

    Afraid to eat

I was the same way. As long as you stick to the guidelines, chew your food, and eat slowly, you should be fine.

58 and getting gastric sleeve surgery

I had the bypass on 12/13/17, and i’m 70. Recovery has been a little more difficult than I imagined, but i’m I’m improving everyday. I had a hiatal hernia repair two years ago, and this was certainly harder. If I was 58 years old, I would have no hesitation in getting the surgery.
