  1. this for 2 months post op. if not prescribed pick it over the counter
  2. In one study i read recently that compared sleeve to bypass there were 11 people with post op (sleeve) issues and 9 of 11 were gerd issues. this is the number 1 issue for sleeve as this procedure seems to make it worse. most people with serious gerd issues get moved to bypass by there surgeons because that procedure shows no increased gerd issues like the sleeve does
  3. there was a recent (month or 2) recall i got a letter due to my purchases being on record with costco. check the premier protein web site for lot numbers and see about taking the package back
  4. It really does come down to just this. Processed food is killing us. All the Macro's just play at the edge but the real Issue here is the level of processing all the food we eat has gone thru.
  5. i have said before and will say again. post op is mostly mental if i could change anything i would move all that bullshit you do for 6 plus months before surgery and change it out for 6 plus months of therapy post op. food is SO much more than just nutrients and energy. It is a part of our view of ourselves for better and for worse.
  6. I was lucky i had a great first month 30 something pounds. followed by 8-10 pounds every month for the next 9 months after that. June looks to to be my big slow down. i have been expecting it for the last few months. My body seems to have found a sweet spot and i think the last 20 pounds i want to lose are going to be a slow slog but i have hit every goal to this point and i haven't felt this good in more than a decade so at this point i just don't care if i need the next 6 months to get that last 20 off
  7. weight gain and loss is driven by hormones and men and women have a very different mix going on inside. This will have an effect on the pace of weight loss. Nothing fair about it but you can't change biology. If he keeps those bad habits it will bite his ass down the road with weight regain.
  8. so very happy. at 10 months post op all the downside is way behind me and only the good parts are left to enjoy
  9. I think the fake sugar thing is more of a sweetness issue. You dont do sweet now and things that are sweet are REAL sweet to you and that is not as pleasant to you as it was before. Your taste buds are more sensitive to sweet now that you are not eating it as a normal daily thing. I never could stand the aftertaste of any fake sugar before and its no better now.
  10. i believe it was under tickers in the drop down box located under your log in name
  11. mine was scrambled egg with a teaspoon of salsa. i ate a lot of this to start. good thing i love it.
  12. been there done that but better now than post op. lots of us here test positive for this and have to take the meds before moving on to the surgery. With your new very small sleeve you do not want any issues making things more complicated.
  13. Bump just bumping this important thread back up. dont want to lose it to other pages. we just end up with half dozen new threads starting instead of keeping it all in one place
  14. this is different for everyone. Head hunger is real even if just in the head. Habit plays a real role here you are simply used to eating and your body and mind don't understand why you stopped. this does get better as the days go by you get used to a new pattern and the head hunger will decrease. once you move to more semi solid food it will help the mind with the why are not eating thing. all i can suggest is avoid being reminded about food- less tv more movies - try to keep mind occupied distract yourself as much as possible
  15. peace of mind if you can find it on sale anywhere. The ladies seem to have a list of must haves - like chapstick and a robe and extra clothes but for me if didn't want to see my butt checks close you eyes grats and good luck hope you have a great recovery
  16. if its sold in the middle of the store you will be hard pressed to find something without added sugar. There is a whole industry devoted to finding the exact amount of added sugar to make something taste amazing without you thinking sugar.
  17. if you have the control - big if - there is no food you can not enjoy next year but its the frequency and portion you need to worry about not if you will ever eat it again. seek some help with emotional eating and try to build habits now that will carry you later when its easier to go off the rails.
  18. very interesting. guess i'll have to try but really no matter what that test says life exp has taught me i can't do carbs safely. i just can't keep control of my eating with them included.
  19. grats and welcome
  20. i have not found any food that i used to eat that is not tolerated now. couldn't stand the smell of coconut before and can't stand the smell now so nope nothing changed
  21. given some more time it will even out mostly by going away. this one was a great NSV for me - putting my wedding ring back on after years of it sitting in a drawer. then you may need it resized but wait for a few months
  22. yea nothin like looking at that 4th bite of food and going - ah never mind- then putting it down and just staring at that tiny plate with that tiny bit of food on it and not finishing it. thats what really brought it home to me.
  23. This line alone could burn down the forums with the fires it starts. MY opinion - people didnt work out a system that worked with their lives everyday so when they got tired of doing the WL thing just like the diet thing they slowly added in tiny little reasons why they could just eat this once or a little and slowly over many many months followed by years the weight came back on. The Sleeve restriction will decrease with time You must develop habits that will take the place of the restriction when that time comes They must be fit your life and be easy to continue and not feel like a punishment You get 18-24 months to figure it out -if your lucky
  24. go forth and be a happy vegan. You can so do this with green leafy as you main food source. you will work harder on the protein side but still doable. remember Vegan doesn't mean healthy - highly refined grains that can put the pounds on you are still vegan so be careful that the carbs you get are from those leafy greens. I am not Vegan but my daughter is and we talk food choices all the time.
