They told me to crush and do applesauce or liquid.

I feel great. But this headache. I’ve tried so many things for 2 days. I can’t get rid of it.

I had one headache but was able to get rid of it. What about your blood pressure?

What’s ricotta bake. I’m on full liquid right now. It’s day 4. Was revised on Wednesday.

Ricotta bake is a mixture of ricotta cheese, parmesan cheese, egg, and spices. Topped with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese and baked to perfection.

I came home 3-4 lbs heavier hahaha gotta love it

I came home 5 lbs heavier and I am only 2.5 down from when I went in.

I am on full liquids and am not having any issues. I have had yogurt, creamed Soups, ricotta bake, and I tried a scrambled egg but it sat there awhile so I wont be doing that for a bit longer.

Well naturally @Hop_Scotch I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas.
@Arabesque I had my gallbladder removed about 10 years ago so I should be good there.
It seemed to kind of go away a little bit ago but it’s starting up again. I’ll get it checked out.

Well I would like to know what you find out. I have been having it also. It just started Thursday and I said something to the surgeon while there and he pushed around a little and thinks it has something to do with the incision sight but I don't think so, it goes to deep and sometimes feels like its in my back. I don't have gallbladder either. I am hoping its just a pulled muscle. I giving it a few more days before I call back down there.

  4. Had my first real Bowel movement today it was Black and firm/hard. Took me all day to relieve myself with Mom and other things, ugh

Weighed in at 177.8 and I am still very swollen on left side and bloated, it sucks. I am getting in just at 600 calories a day. I would think I little more weight would be gone by now but whatever at least I don't feel burning anymore.

Nah. That's a call to the doc. Are they tarry? Sticky? Hard to clean up?

You are about the time where a lot of us realize although the trains appear to be moving, we really have a giant back up of poo. And it can get hard and can cause some bleeding. Or it could be stored poo from the surgery that still has some blood from the procedure. But I would say if you've been having them for 16 days, this is cause for real concern. Are you having any pain?

@FluffyChix I was lurking in the Poo section because of a bowel movement I had and there you are describing it. Black looked like tar. I am guessing this isn't unusual for the first time after bypass?

  6. I am sorry you are having all these difficulties. I would imagine your BMI would be too low for approval but I am not an insurance person or a Dr.

You may not get the fullness you are looking for in a 2nd surgery. If you have not read what is being said you may want to go check out some of the revision threads out there.

Have you tried the 5 day reset ? Its suppose to help shrink your pouch back somewhat and get you back on track like a pre op.

    Man this headache. No relief.
Water. Gatorade. Pedialite. Ice pops. Cold rag on my forehead.
My husband also drives me insane. He cooked something and the smell is making me more nauseated. I wish I was still in the hospital. Smh. He’s so selfish but when he’s sick forget about it. Like the biggest baby. Hahahah

I feel your pain. My guy made bacon cheeseburgers my first night back. I mean REALLY !

Sorry about your nausea. Hope you get to feeling better soon.

Can anyone share their experience with having the sleeve done with a BMI < 35? I’m assuming that there would be less chance of complications, but not sure. Still nervous about taking this step.

Do you have any kind of heartburn or acid reflux ? If not this is the best surgery because it doesn't change anything but the size of your stomach. I really have not heard of any other problems with it other then the GERD.

  9. Well I haven't been sleeping very well. I am waking up all hours of the night. I took a flex last night to help me relax and sleep with the pain on my right side. I got 6 hours and still felt groggy so I went back and slept another hour or so more and feel a little better.

I had a scrambled egg for Breakfast with parmesan cheese. I ate the whole thing within 15 minutes. I know something is there because it has been 45 min and I just took a sip of juice ( diet oceanspray ) and I thinking it might not be time to drink lol. I gonna wait 30 more minutes just to be safe.

That's great and i was thinking that it was prob because you are still doing liq. I have a very good friend that had GB in 1999.... she lost about 150lbs maybe more. a few years ago she started gaining and is so depressed. I can hear it in her voice when we talk. She has no other issues, she told me last night that she is on a diet and lost 11lbs so far.... My job is to just be a friend and encourage her.

She has mentioned trying to get another WLS, but i don't want to tell her bad advice. I simply told her to look into the DS.... which i think maybe the only option except for band over BP.

21 years ago wow. How much has she regained in 2 years ? Well I will tell you had I had this revision due to weight gain I would be very upset right now. It is not at all like I thought it would be. I just had Breakfast and ate a whole scrambled egg with parmesan cheese no problem. Has she talked to a surgeon ?

I 100% agree with you. I miss my sleeve. I was on the way to getting esophageal cancer from GERD...Btw, I still have acid problems, just not as bad....so I had to get revised to the bypass. I hate it. I can't possibly understand how less stomach let's me eat more?? Idk, I feel like I am. I've only lost 20lbs in 2+ months also. So miserable and nauseous all of the time, don't get me started on toilet stuff....ugh. HATE THIS

Unless you are eating dense Protein it slides right on through is what I was told by the surgeon yesterday. He told me my pouch was the size of a shot glass and I will feel the restriction when I move to dense Proteins. How much dense protein can you eat ? I am lucky I guess no nausea. Are you taking anything for it ? They gave me meds for it but I haven't taken any. I am afraid of toilet, lol !

Glad that everything is alright! It takes some days to get rid of the fluids.

Hoping its gone in a few more weeks. My youngest son is getting married June 20th and I would like to be feeling normal and not swollen and bloated. The nurse said I would be fine.

Hope you are having a wonderful vacation !

I have a question I am on my second day of pre-op diet when I first saw my Dr he ask me if I smoked I said I was vaping he said ok and now after this sickness going around my surgery date been move 2 times now it's June 9th I been vaping now their r saying No vaping, Patches, gum to help to stop I been smoking since I was 17 and now am 58 pretty hard am trying

Our bariatric center wont do WLS unless you are nicotine free for 3 months. They do urine tests 2 weeks before and the day of to make sure you are nicotine free or no surgery. I had been a smoker for 30+ years and quit because I wanted this more then smoking. Its really a win win . I quit by vaping with non nicotine vape . Then a year later I started back up. Then I quit again for my breast reduction ( same thing no breast reduction with nicotine in system}You would think that would be it but no I am relentless and started yet AGAIN. I quit for this revision ( yes this is the 3rd time in 3 years) and I will never go back. Its just too hard to keep doing to myself and I actually like being a non smoker !

  14. Had my 1 week checkup today and all is well. He explained the shoulder pain as being transfer pain from all the work they did on the left side with the hernia repair. He said my pouch is the size of a shot glass and the reason I am not feeling restriction is because I have been on full liquids and they flow right on through. So as soon as I move on to solids I will feel it.

He moved me on to the soft phase since I have not had thrown up or been nauseous. So I made ricotta bake and it is delish !! Tomorrow its a scrambled egg and cottage cheese !!!

Weighed in at 178.6 this morning. I am still pretty swollen.

Still here, sleeping a lot. They need me to drink and urinate but so tired to do either. Headache to kill a horse.
    omg hope this gets better.
so nauseated..... I dont remember the sleeve this way. They want me to eat applesauce now, wish me luck! Haha

Its a trip for sure !! You are lucky you get to sleep. I could not pee after surgery and was threatened with a catheter. I ended up being able to go early that evening. How is the hernia ? I think that hernia made it worse for the both of us. Hang in there

I'm one year out of my VSG surgery. I have GERD really bad. NO meds have helped. I also feel like food gets stuck in my throat. My doc has set me up for an EGD. Depending on the results, he said we would probably revise my sleeve to a bypass. What is the success like? I have gained 30 lbs. back. I am so embarrassed. Will the bypass help me get more weight off??

    Have you tried Dexilant ?

That sleeve will give you restriction with all foods. That wont be the case with the bypass. ( at least not for me and others posting on this page) If you read through this thread there are a couple of ladies who have posted how much weight they have lost and how much harder it is . I am sure if your Dr. feels you need a revision you will lose the 30 lbs but something is telling me it will be harder to keep off if you are using the sleeves restriction to tell you when to stop eating. I am only a week in but that is what it is feeling like to me at this time. GL

Have a question and it may sound stupid..... but if you already had the sleeve and now have the RNY..... How can there be no restriction? Did the dr not re cut the sleeve to make it small again? or did they just do the MGB... / by pass?

Okay saw the surgeon and I do have the bypass. He says my pouch is the size of a shot glass and that full liquids will just slide through it and that is why I haven't felt the restriction. He said as soon as I start back on solid Protein I will fill it.

that's not every day... tonight we are going out and i will prob. have either fish or steak.

@Tracyringo It's not like that at all. my alcohol is (one drink) about 2-3 x a week. I was never told to not... just to watch the cals. and i do. I drank post Band, after band, post sleeve and after....

When i do have a cocktail.... it takes me hours to drink it...

Whew, thanks for clearing that up, lol.

Do you try to get your 60 gm of Protein a day ?

Either way you are doing great
