  1. Post surgery constipation. Has this been a problem for you guys? At my pre-anesthesia appt, nurse suggested I start taking Senokot now, a week before surgery. I also know of one local bariatric practice that does the same thing. Anyone doing something similar?
  2. I havent been brave enough to try! I thought it was 1 T of cider vinegar, 1 T lemon, 1 cup water?
  3. Whole Foods, but Amazon has it, too
  4. All of us, LOL March 14th for me
  5. Great explanation of what happened to you, thanks for taking the time to post it all. Glad you are feeling better!!
  6. Congrats! We want details!!!
  7. Broth, tea, SF jello, SF popsicles. My pre-op isnt as limited as the protein shake crowd, but dang if I haven't been hungry all day -- and I'm a week in!
  8. I'm sorry to hear of your complications, and Im impressed with your attitude!!
  9. I’m hungry. Just thought I’d throw that out there, LOL. 7 more days, ugh.
  10. I read, read, read, too, and I love success stories like yours! 55 pounds -- is that include pre-surgery WL?? Either way, its remarkable for 6 weeks --way to go!
  11. That is fantastic! Keep on keeping on, Superstar!!!!
  12. I love that video -- very cool!! And less scary when you see what they are actually doing, the stapling device, etc.
  13. I've never even heard of it! Good luck tomorrow, safe surgery! OMG, I just looked it up -- sounds interesting, but maybe I'll wait until after surgery, LOL
  14. So I had a small almost-panic-attack just now thinking that I was going to be rejected right on the OR table, LOL. Has anyone else experienced this kind of thing?
  15. Anesthesia is very very safe these days. I know its quite nerve-wracking to wonder if you will be someone who breezes through it or has a few bad days at first -- I worry a LOT about that and I am over a week away! Either way, in a week you will have your feet on the ground and your new life begins!! Wishing you a safe surgery One thing for folks to think about: you can take an anti-anxiety (like Lorazepam) the morning of surgery with your surgeon's permission -- its not contradicted for surgery.
  16. sfh PURE is what I use: 24g protein, 130 cals, 4g carbs. 1 g sugar. It has only 4 ingredients: grass fed whey, natural vanilla flavor, sunflower lecithin, stevia leaf extract. Less than $2 per shake ($8/day). Tastes great!! I just had a vanilla shake with an orange and ice cubes blended in and it was delicious!
  17. Time will tell :-) You will need to bring it to the hospital, that much I do know. Like @gr8ful1 said, it does get easier over time. At first, I woke up constantly, but now its only once or twice a night. I also have my fingers crossed that this will be temporary.
  18. Yes, she is going to be very unhappy as you lose weight! Congrats on the cute new place!
  19. Can you get your hands on some inexpensive extra pillows to imitate an elevating bed? Sorry you are so uncomfortable...
  20. @Sprinkles1 What do you think her deal is? Is she overweight herself, maybe jealous?
  21. Man, 3 is rough!! I'm on Day 7 of my pre-op and its getting easier. I've lost 7 pounds already (from 228 to 221)!
  22. Is that in a teacup saucer? Looks delicious!
  23. Do folks know you can set your phone with a 10 second delay? With the selfie mode on, you can center yourself, etc. No need to take all of your photos in bathrooms!!!
