    MattyMatt...are you out there?

Hey Matty-man, vent away. We don't need anything emotionally positive. We are here for you.

    Any MAY sleevers???

You should consider weaning yourself down or off AD's. My surgeon is a man of little words, LOL, and he was...disgruntled that I was still taking Paxil at 1 week, LOL. Since surgery I have gone from from 30 to 10 (week coming up), Paxil, and onward to 0.. Its tough, and I get weird symptoms, but nothing to stop me from progressing. Can't wait to be free after 10 years.

    Drinking wine

As did mine -- good advice!

    MattyMatt...are you out there?

Geez, Matt, I am sorry. I hope this isn't rude to ask: have they considered alternative nutrition? One of my colleague's wife chose to have her stomach removed because of genetic findings, and that is how she got her nutrition for a few months. Again, I am so sorry, and please keep us posted -- we care.
  7. Congratulations and welcome to the losers bench! I came home +12 pounds and ended the first week -5 pounds.

    Drinking wine

I'm a sleever, too. I had a glass or 2 of wine (a few times) at about 6-7 weeks, and it stalled my weight loss. And it does hit you like a ton of bricks, so be prepared for that. I have Mother's Day and FIL's 95th this weekend, and I am sticking with iced tea. If I am feeling bold, maybe I'll try Pellegrino!

    Remarkable loss -- great job!!
  10. Wow, sorry to hear that, glad you got it out. Every time I get a pang on my right side I worry about it being GB stones.

    I did it...

    congrats!!

    Down 102 lbs!

Great job, love the sassy skinny jeans and cold shoulder top!!
  13. How crap, it was $42 for a pound of Maryland lump crab for tomorrow's Crab & Shrimp Louie -- ouch!!! U.S. changed the way temporary work visas are awarded to a lottery system, so there's nobody to pick the crabs. Its good for crab populations, so there is that...
  14. Oh, @FluffyChix 99.6# ?!?!?! Damn scale, maybe tomorrow. Here's to feeling normal!
  15. That is hilariously awkward -- I would roll with it as a compliment, just not well delivered.
  16. It is a gorgeous spring day here in Maryland, mid 70's and sunny. I just spent a couple of hours putzing in my garden, which is so lovely that I decided to make our Mother's Day celebration tomorrow a garden party, replete with an old fashioned Crab Louie as our main dish (instead of going out).

    No regrets guys!

Such an impressive achievement -- you worked hard for this!!

Need breakfast ideas - what are you eating for bf?

Tell me more :-) Is that about 1 teaspoon of each?
  19. I think you just hit the dreaded three-week stall early. It isn't pleasant. Try to be patient.

    Stall- need advice

    Good luck!!!
  21. The heat exhaustion (?) with Matt -- I don't remember all of the gritty details, but I do remember that we had biked a mile or so into town (Annapolis) for the fireworks. I sat with him on a curb and my husband rushed home to get a car to pick him up. We threw the bikes in someone's yard, LOL. Then we focused on cooling and rehydrating. Little kids just dehydrate so fast! Lentil soup is all gone -- I think I was just having too many carbs at once and too early in the day.
  22. Glad you made it back safely!! I'm sure its cooler here, but I still schedule my walks early and/or late, so's Murphy's feet don't get scorched. One of my kids seriously overheated when he was pretty little, 5 or 6, and it was frightening for us because we too were away from home at a crowded event. Ugh regarding the scale -- that major milestone is tantalizingly close. Oh, and I had an extra 200 calorie meal yesterday, too, because I was starving. Its either from having coffee shakes for breakfast again (instead of eggs), or carby midday meals (leftover lentil soup, cottage cheese & peaches, etc). I dunno. Have you picked up on something triggering you? Maybe even the extra exercise?

    vitamins

This is exactly why I went with a brand of powdered products that allows me to combine everything into one morning drink. It feels like my watch is constantly alarming me about something -- stop drinking, eat, walk -- can you say alarm fatigue???
  25. I found this on another message board and it is too good not to share, from myfitnesspal, johnwhitent: Gather ‘round, take a knee, and listen up. It’s crunch time. It’s time to turn this around and grab a win. But this is more than a game, it’s a battle. You’re in a fight for health and fitness, a fight for your life. Success doesn’t come easy, but is forged from failures. Or more accurately, success is forged from your response to failures. Every setback you experience, every pound you gain or workout you miss is an opportunity to become discouraged and give up, or to grow stronger and continue on the road to victory. Success is never a nice linear path; everyone has bad days or weeks. But the ones who reach their goals are the ones who persevere. When you pick yourself up and get back on track after a setback, you instill the confidence that you are a winner. You are different - others quit, but you don’t. Those setbacks become the motivation to carry on, to show that you are in this for the duration, that you have the discipline to see this through, come what may. In a running race, you can’t see the finish line – it’s miles away. But you put one foot in front of the other, knowing that each step brings you closer to that unseen goal. So it is with every meal you eat and every workout you do. The ultimate goal is far off and you won’t always see immediate measurable progress from your daily actions, but victory is made up of many daily choices and small steps. Millions of people want what you want, but you are doing the work to get it, and you will not be denied. It has a cost. Getting up early on a cold morning and working out while others are snug and comfortable in bed is hard. Passing on the pizza or donuts in the breakroom at work everyone else is eating is hard. Choosing a path that brings discomfort when comfort is readily available is hard. But as they say, if it was easy, everyone would be fit and healthy. You are on the sure road to health and fitness because you have committed to do whatever it takes to get there. And you will get there. You have accepted the challenge, embraced the pain, and welcomed the denial of temporary pleasure in favor of long term quality of life. You want it a little more than others, and you will reach the goals they will not. Your sacrifices and discipline won’t win you a medal in the Olympics. You probably won’t be featured on the evening news. But deep within you are a fierce competitor, a winner, and your prize is more valuable than Olympic gold – it is life.
