  1. Glad I found this topic. I am on week three now and for the last few days haven't lost a darn thing. Was starting to worry but I guess it is so ! Time to move around a bit more and kick start my body back into losing weight !!
  2. Hello ! I am a new member having just been sleeved on July 25 and Bariatric Pal was one of the sites that was recommended for friendship and support. So I just wanted to drop in and say hello. After years of fighting the battle of the bulge, I'm 50 now, and with my wife's suggestion and support I decided to have the gastric sleeve done. Looking forward to finally be able to lose the weight and make the conscious effort to eat more healthy. Four days out and I'm doing better everyday. A few problems with gas pains but not so much now. Looking forward to connecting with the forum for support and information ! As I peruse the site there is so much information that will help that it is almost overwhelming. Take Care !! Anthony

Full Liquids are delicious! I had to make sure that I didn't try to eat it all at once! LoL! I almost over did it though but recognized another spoonful would have not been pretty. So far so good. No problems so far except it's hard to keep up on all my other liquids. Still don't want to get dehydrated. How are you making out ?

JULY SLEEVERS- How are you doing?

I was sleeved on July 25th. I have been tolerating this surgery fairly well. A couple days of bad gas pains and at first it was tough to drink my fluids but now I can do 4 to 6 ounces or more in an hour. I was really worried about getting dehydrated. I am assuming the pressure that I feel in my chest it's from drinking so much. With a little heartburn. Everything is healing up just fine. Glad to read of everybody else's stories from July as to what to expect in the next couple of weeks. Thanks!
  6. Four days post op and I have one protein shake a day to get my daily allowance in. IT seems that when I am drinking it over the course of 30min it seems that it is not going down as smoothly as the vitamin water and propel that I have been drinking. Is it the protein powder in shake ? Should I be diluting it more ? It gives me an uncomfortable pressure into the chest as if it is not moving. Unlike all the other fluids I am on that seem to travel through OK. Thought and comments would be greatly appreciated !! Thanks !! Anthony

    Weight gain before surgery!!!

I decided to do the two week pre op diet a full two weeks before my final surgeons appointment to lose weight and have that recorded for the insurance people. I then maintained that diet all the way up to my surgery date. Well over a month and I lost approximately 42lbs just by doing that. Protein Shakes 3x a day with lots of water, a small cottage cheese in the morning, small v8 in the afternoon. Plus either some lean protein and a veg, for dinner around 7pm. I was craving all the junk foods that I used to eat everyday ! But if you concentrate hard on it and keep something around to drink at all times I found it much easier to handle. Good Luck !! Anthony
