    Tomorrow is the day!!

Head/Earphones, extra long phone charger cord and magazines. I couldn’t focus on a book and found mindless flipping through a People mag was what I needed. As soon as they had me up walking I washed my face & brushed my teeth and it felt so good. Oh and a small personal pillow if you have one- good to hold to your stomach if you need to cough!! Good luck to you , you’ll do great!! It’s not as scary as I thought it would be and I am just a little sore but no real pain or nausea!! [emoji847][emoji847][emoji847]

  3. I finally farted!!! Farts are great, aren’t they [emoji90][emoji90] how the heck am I gonna have a BM tho? It hurts to bear down and push something out.....on a liquid diet? Seriously?
  4. Thanks all [emoji8] so far the pain is minimal and all they have me on is a Tylenol ES drip. One of the nurses did say the third day is when the pain gets tough, here’s hoping I get something a tad stronger sent home with me. I had my gall bladder taken out exactly one year ago at the same hospital and the experience was stellar- the nurses were amazing and everything just went right. This time? Not so much. A couple of the nurses are snobs. Thank Goddess for shift changes. And so happy I didn’t forget my headphones- I have a faulty drip machine whose alarm is going off constantly and a roommate that makes sex noises as she snores!!! lol seriously!!! I wanna go home...
  5. Oh Berry Berry congrats to you!!! What a huge accomplishment and such an inspiration! Tonight!!!- you’re gonna kick that hills ass not the other way around [emoji41]
  6. Thank you @ Sosewsue61 can’t wait so excited whooohooo
  7. Tomorrow is my surgery day!!!! Hospital called today and said I need to drink a Clear Fast nutrition drink at 3am and be at the hospital at 6am for surgery at 8. After having it postponed for two weeks and being a bag full of jitters, I feel oddly calm and ready to go!!! I can’t wait to start this journey!! Happy Halloween everybody [emoji12][emoji13][emoji12][emoji13][emoji12]
  8. I have a bottle of Bariatric Advantage multi vitamins and a bottle of Centrum one a day chewable vitamins and notice the daily percentages content are vastly different between the two. Some doses are double or tripled on the BA vs the Centrum. I have read on this site that Centrum are what many of you take daily. Is it because you’ve got more time since your surgery? Or because you’re bypass and I’m (almost) a sleeve? Does it really matter as long as it’s taken each and every day without fail? Vitamin A is 200% on the BA and only 30% on Centrum. Similar with most other nutrients. I purchased the Centrum and won the BA at a support group and they’re huge horse pills and crazy expensive. So confusing [emoji46] someone explain please!
  9. How much protein is too much per day?
  10. My son just texted me about Thanksgiving in a few weeks and it hadn’t occurred to me that I’ll be just shy of a month post-op. It’s just the three of us and we either cook tons of typical T-Day foods or dine out at a fancy restaurant. Obviously I won’t be having any of that but I’m not sure WHAT to do. Ugh, then Christmas right after...I gotta say this is staring to make me a little anxious. Fellow October ‘17 Sleevers give me your thoughts!!
  11. I LOVE to cook and boy oh boy after thinking about it, I do not want to be in that space (kitchen or head) that soon after surgery- usually I taste everything Im cooking ALL day long and I dont trust myself quite yet even if I am still pre-op! I think I'll go the catering route. No pots and pans to wash thank s Cherbear
  12. Thank you for the catering idea- I think that's what we'll do. Whole Foods is down the street and actually not too bad for T-Day fixings!
  13. My GP misdiagnosed me with “epigastric abdominal pain” essentially blowing me off for five months. Granted it was “only” recurring pain in my stomach, it was chronic, not really worsening in pain. I kind of figured I was overdoing it on the Advil. Then one night the BF and I were sharing a banana split and on my second bite I keeled over in the most intense pain. We drove to the ER and I got down on my knees and thrust my stomach into the edge of the seat of the plastic chair- it was embarrassing as frick but it was the pressure on my stomach that relieved any pain. They gave me a shot of morphine and I barfed all over the poor ultrasound tech. And she knew exactly what it was before she even saw the stones. The next morning the pain was gone and they figured one was stuck in the duct. Took it out that evening and to this day my body cannot make up its mind whether it wants to tolerate dairy or not- some days it constipates me, others I immediately get the trots. I definitely agree about going to the doctor to check it out, from my experience gall bladder issues manifest over a period of time but can also be mistaken as something as innocuous as simple stomach irritation from whatever....Let’s hope that’s all it is with you!!! Feel better!

  15. I missed this message! Thank you for the kind words- my son and I and the cats are fine. This fire has changed us all but it’s amazing the power of love for ones community and one another that’s pulled us all together!!! Surgery has been rescheduled for Halloween 5:30am [emoji317][emoji317] back doing the pre-op liquids and craving uh....EVERYTHING! 16. Surgery is next week and I’m making notes for the anesthesiologist because I’ll need a breathing treatment prior to going under and it occurred to me that I don’t know if there is specific information to provide on my medical records or to emergency contacts for reference post VSG. I keep putting off getting a medical ID bracelet for some titanium in my neck and wonder if now is the time to get one and to add the surgery info too. This forum has become a very trusted source of WLS information for me and think this will be good stuff to know for all of us nervous nelly newbies!
  17. Sounds so yummy i had to find it .....hope its the one you were looking for!!
  18. Im thinking of asking the doc to place a few staples in my forehead...gotta complete the look !!
  19. My surgery was rescheduled to 10/31. So nervous and excited at the same time. Can’t think of anything else!!!

    Have you experienced jealousy?

This is a very interesting topic, thank you for all of the great responses. For me, when I was 14, 15 years old I was thin and athletic, typical cute teenager. I had a sister that was eleven years older and I ended up living with her. All of her older friends and their boyfriends came to our home frequently. The men all perved on me (this was not welcomed or reciprocated) and all of the girlfriends hated me for it. Not for anything I ever did but for how I looked and how their boyfriends reacted to me. I ate and ate to stifle the rejection. Years later I saw one of those women that was so mean to me and she said “you’re fat now so I dont hate you anymore”. This experience ruined my young life in so many levels. Yes, through the course of my life I’ve picked up other baggage to emotionally eat about but I have finally done the couch time with therapists to get to this point. My surgery is in nine days and I am looking forward to feeling better about my appearance and getting physically healthy. People are cruel for a variety of reasons, we’re all sick. It’s my time to let it go and stop taking it out on myself.
