Take a short walk, then a nice bath, condition your hair, if you have a partner ask them for a massage, sip some tea.....you can do this. Everyone is nervous.

About year ago, I had my gastric sleeve surgery. Its been a crazy time learning exactly how my body interacts with different foods. The truth is, everyone is different, and you just have to learn for yourself what will work for you. Im not perfect. I eat pizza from time to time. Ive blown it out a weekend or 2, or 3. But then I review everything my doctor told me, and I bounce back. From the start I told my doctor that I never wanted to be fat again, I did not want to lose hair and I didn't want loose skin. Well, I did lose some hair, quite a bit at first. It hasn't come back, but is has stopped falling out... I think. I was advised that no matter what, if I lose weight fast, I will have loose skin. So Ive been determined to lose weight as slow as possible. I take in more calories and food than is probably recommended, but I also work out. I started out close to 300 pounds. Today I'm about 206. I lost a bulk in the first month, then about 50 plus pounds over the next 10 months. A part of me wanted to lose much more per month, but I also did not have any loose skin, which was a (superficial) goal. My goal is to get down to around 170-180. Ive been trying to amp it up a bit in the Gym to accomplish that. The most satisfying part of my weight loss journey has been all the energy I have to spend on my 2 young sons and my beautiful wife. I just turned 39, and I feel better than I ever have, ( with the exception of a little knee tendonitis) I sometimes forget my Vitamins, and occasionally fall back into bad eating habits, but instead of gaining 30 pounds like before, the scale my move just a few ticks up, enough to put me into panic mode and get on track. Im off all my meds, no more high blood pressure, no high cholesterol, no acid reflux ( just finsteride for hair loss). I look forward to the next year and continuing toward my goal. I wish everyone well, and hope all those who are just beginning the process great success!

I just had my surgery last Monday July 24, 2017. I weighed 305 for the last two years and before that the 295 at a steady. I just turned 57. I told everyone who asked about my surgery. I am not ashamed. I am proud that I made the decision to make a life changing move. One person asked me if I'm willing to eat less for the rest of my life after surgery why can't I eat less now and loose weight naturally. We my response was I lost 80 lbs in 2003 I weighed 165. With in 2 years gained weight on little by little. I would gain 50 loose 40 and diets were my normal. They are NOT working for me. I told her I want to Live, I want to move around like others, I don't want to buy an extra seat on an airplane so I'm not embarrassed, I want to see if I can get off my meds, I want to be able to take my dogs on their walks, I want to see if my back, joints and hip will feel better once the weight starts coming off, I want to be able to play with my Granddaughter, I want to be around for the long haul. She did not know what to say after that. I am expecting this to be life changing. I'm ready for the new me. Good luck with your journey

Wow that is huge progress!! 26 pounds post op is a lot! My dates and weights are similar but I'm only down 16 post op so far and I think I've just hit the 3 week stall....

It's so hard to eat "protein first" in this purée stage when there are hardly any protein options at this point. My carb grams each day are higher than I want them to be in the long run (50-60gs) but there just isn't much protein to eat besides the shakes. I still drink two shakes a day but really want to chew for the rest of my intake. Anyway, I hope I'm not stalling myself but having too many carbs. Keeping my daily calories under 700, usually closer to 500.

    It's all a head game isn't it!!!!
