  4. I haven't had surgery yet, it's April 10th, but I've been preparing and bought an 8oz baby bottle that i plan to use to track how many oz i drink plus I've heard that sometimes the smell of certain drinks may bother some and the baby bottle opening is so small. My nose doesn't capture the smells.....I've been experimenting haha good luck i hope you're able to get in more fluids.
  5. Congrats!!! happy healing!
  6. Congrats!!! I'm April 10th!! Getting excited and nervous! We've got this.

  8. Yes it is!! I'm so excited to find a few people with the same day, we def need to keep one another updated. Do either of you have to do the full 14 day liquid diet? I start the 27th.
  9. Welcome! I'm April 10th as well!
  10. This has been on my mind since my surgery is just a few weeks away. I have really long hair, I already lose some due to my PCOS and it's already thin so I'm hoping I don't end up losing a huge amount and I don't want to cut it I want to avoid that if possible lol I've been taking the multivitamins my surgeon recommended. So any other ideas that have helped anyone on here is greatly appreciated!
  11. Congrats on your date!! I'm April 10th! I have a hard time with the protein shakes I'm not a fan of thick drinks but my nutritionist gave me some ideas to work with. I don't do cottage e cheese either, so I figured during the pureed stage I'll mostly stick with eggs and triple zero yogurt. I guess we'll find out when we get to that point what agrees with our bodies.
  12. I have question... I'll be starting my pre op liquid diet match 27th. Do /did you guys use the sugar free jello you mix yourself or the pre made sugar free jello cups? I wasn't sure if it makes a difference on what you use as long as it's sugar free.
  13. Hi everyone! My surgery is April 10th. I start my liquid diet on March 27th. Excited! The cookies n cream premier Protien looks yummy! I'll Def have to try that one.
  14. Congrats!!! I hope everything went nice and smooth!! So exciting, I can't wait for my surgery April 10th. I love reading everyone's stories!
  15. I got my date today! April 10th ? super excited!! Any ones else with the same date?? I go in a couple weeks for my final lab work and an H Pylori recheck. And start my two week liquid diet on March 27th. Did any of you have to use the incentive Spirometer?
  16. Hi Kristen! I am right there with ya. I'm 36 and a mom to two young boys, my biggest fear is leaving them. I'm excited for surgery I find out Thursday when my date is, but I'm terrified of complications I've only had one other major surgery (breast reduction) and a few small surgeries. I had complications after my BR the surgeon hut an artery and didn't know it until I was in recovery luckily my husband notice something wasn't right, he literally saved my life! So now I'm so nervous about this one and the fact that when I had my BR (I was 27) I didn't have any health issues other than my PCOS and fibromyalgia, now I have a leaky mitral valve to add to the mix so I'm a bit more concerned but it's also a big factor in WHY I'm having WLS, less weight is less stress on the heart , so many what ifs running through my head, I'll be asking my surgeon so many questions during my pre op on Thursday lol but my need and want to see my children grow up out weighs that fear by a million. The best of luck to you!!!
  17. Congrats!! I get my date during my pre op this upcoming thursday!
  18. I haven't had my surgery yet, I go for pre op next Thursday. But when going over eating after surgery my nutritionist said to use baby spoons as it would help from taking in to much at once. Has anyone tried that?
  19. Thanks!! I find out next week when my surgery is, but during these last 5 months I eliminated all pasta, bread rice ect. I substitute with cauliflower rice And mashed cauliflower which is pretty satisfying I don't feel like I'm missing anything. I've just been absorbing all the information I can from everyone's after care posts.
  20. Has anyone tried any of the bariatric foods or snacks they sell? Weather is from this site or one like bariatric direct? Just curious.
  21. I wouldn't do it. I took it years ago for a very short period didn't like the feeling it gave me, not long after taking it I started getting palpitations found out I had a leaky heart valve and now on two heart pills a day, weather the two are related I don't know all I know is before then I never had an issue with my heart. Just step up your exercise and start logging your calorie intake if you stopped.
  22. Oh yes lol I've been to 3 of them. Which was great because each class covered a lot of topics
  23. Everything was submitted to my insurance this past Thursday and this morning bariatrics called saying I was approved! I was shocked I wasn't expecting to hear anything for a few weeks. My pre op apt is February 22. So few questions, what's your go to unflavored Protien powder that you add to your drinks /food? I recently tried a sample packet of unjury.. Not a fan lol has anyone tried any of the New Direction products? I like the pre mixed premier shakes out of all the ones I've tried. What does your after surgery intake look like? I know everybody differs but do you go by a eating/drinking log to keep you on track? Set your phone on timers to remind you to eat /drink to make sure your properly hydrated or getting the right amount of protein? I've been looking up bariatric weekly sample menus to get an idea. Did any of you use compression socks after surgery? I know these are totally random questions but thinking out loud lol the only stupid questions are the ones you don't ask right?
  24. Bariatric just called I got approved!!! That was insanely fast!! My pre op is Feb 22. Excited!!
  25. Crossing fingers and toes for you!! One step closer ?
