Absolutely refusing to buy new clothing these days. I love the wardobe I bought at 4 months post op & spent a small fortune also, so I'm tailoring everything to my new size...

Hit a major milestone on the scale today.

Emotionally, I still feel like garbage (other than maybe a little leftover tiredness from surgery, it's nothing relevant to this forum), but I'm slightly happier garbage, anyway.

This place can be positive or negative depending on your outlook. I've noticed that when I remain active here by following the struggles or joys of others and, most important, leaving a comment, I'm helping myself probably more than the person for whom I'm leaving a comment. It takes courage initially to post your first question or topic. What if no one responds? What if I make a fool of myself because I put words together like a monkey with a keyboard? 
I forgot what my intended message was here. I guess it's something like the penny jar one finds in a store. Take a penny for yourself when you need it, leave a penny for someone else in case they need it.
Thank you to all the kind people out there who've left a penny for me. Here's my penny for someone else. Please take it if you need it. (This penny is a metaphor,  ).

I have been doing so good for a week and last night and this morning I binged. Don't want to go to hard on myself, but I grounded myself where I won't get a treat on my birthday next month and I started my day over. The struggle is real 

A small NSV: I had a meeting on the third floor of a building without an elevator today, and I was only breathing a little faster (as opposed to being totally winded) when I got to the top.

Haven't hit a stall but this week with only a 2 lbs loss after hitting the gym for 5 days is really getting to me.

Alright. No more adulting. Burned my nose, broke my espresso maker (officially), stubbed my toe, and cracked my phone screen all before 8am.

Bought fleece lined tights today. I really need fur lined pants...

I'm now down just over 75 pounds down since my first visit with the surgeon on June 29, 2018! Woot!

I'm off of these boards for a while. My stepfather (my dad's husband) just passed away last night, and I only just lost Dad last year, and ... I kind of need to be focusing on that, you know? I'll see you all later.

OK, surgery's done (Weds), I'm home, and I'm trying to tough it out with just Tylenol in the daytime, because the oxycodone makes me too tired to function. I might take it before bed, just to give my liver a break from Tylenol each day.
I'm taking the anti-nausea pills preventatively. I'll want to go off them as soon as possible, but the patch they put on is only good for three days. This is day three. I'd like to avoid forcing my new stomach and the nicely sewn up hernia to send things backwards, if at all possible.

I'm doing small loops around parts of the house and using the spirometer often. Just trying to heal up, you know. Coughing hurts, but that's to be expected. So far, Jello is the main thing my stomach seems willing to accept, though I've had a little luck with black tea, too.

It took all of the courage in my soul, but I did manage to give myself the shot of blood thinner in my stomach. Blood clots are serious business.

My hair is back to normal! It's been a year of low manipulation no dyeing, couple months of LLysine regime, etc. I'm happy I feel like I'm out of the woods

I'm all packed, though I still have to run a small load of clothes and towels through so I have "just washed" things for after I use the pre-surgical soap tonight and in the morning.

I have a class from 6-9pm tonight, and I predict I spend it mostly pretty distracted. (It's fine. I'm ahead in that class.)

The first nurse has called to go over meds and stuff (and she reassured me that there will be pain meds in my system when I wake up, lol), and I'm expecting the scheduling call any time now. ... Probably while I'm in the car on my way to school.

Anyway, it's getting close!

I've got a nasty cold and I am lacking in any motivation to eat what I should or exercise. I just want to eat TOAST and drink HOT CHOCOLATE dammit! I am forcing myself to sip some water right now while I sulk.
