How are you doing/feeling since surgery?

Since surgery, I've felt really good, except for this afternoon after discharge. I'm still a bit loopy from the drugs but am now at the hotel. I did some shopping and bought some baby food and some SF snacks, along with my protein shakes. I am super tired, but I have some homework to finish before I take my nap.
How are you doing?

10 months post op, 160s.
Sick (first time since surgery) because I spent time around too many sick people recently, totally worth it.
But now I'm wondering what flu season will be like 😓

Almost went to the Gym, decided not to.
So i wanted to walk 1.5 miles through park and wooded area (begging to star in a slasher film?) to the pharmacy to get a prescription filled & the gym is only .25 miles more away but then it started to rain so I walked (a different route, I can learn...) 1.6 miles home.
Then it hit me
walking in the real world is totally different than on a treadmill. So I'm good with my decision.

9 months post op and thanks to a birthday in July and using a bad scale at a doctors office I thought I lost and gained but there was literally no change , for a month. Lol. Welcome to the slow down. Now im Focusing on self image, because I'm still dealing with body dysmorphia. Just yesterday I bought a gorgeous bra set , non returnable, and it was too big. But I think I kinda knew it was too big , I just can't stop shopping for the old me. Anyone else do dumb sh#+ like this? Lol

Oh, I decided against the rental sites. They're expensive for what you get IMO. Can't rent pants because they have to be tailored. And for dresses, I bought some in the $30-$50 range. So even that is more affordable than renting.

I'm also justifying buying more clothes than I absolutely need to at this point, because it makes me feel better about myself. Wearing fitted clothes and feeling attractive in them makes me legit happier.

Thinking about walking 1.5 miles to gym and 1.5 miled back in addition to working out, thinking about just laying on the floor. The joys of Sundays.

This is a thought provoking question. It makes me think back to my younger, thinner days when even then I was never happy with the way my body looked - if only I knew that it was all down hill from there! And now that I have worked from being morbidly obese to reaching my goal, I am wondering if I should lose more because maybe a size 6 will be better than a size 8. I think many of us, especially women, need to explore our body image issues a little deeper. What does it take to feel satisfied with being you? Does the weight loss make us happy, or do we need to focus on our inner happiness and just being happy with who we are? Difficult questions I think.

I am sure all my lumps and bumps will not look anything like what my mind pictures! My mind just lies all the time to me anyway...lol
BUT I am already pretty happy with being able to FEEL lighter on my feet, fit into smaller clothes, etc. I think I will be satisfied, and especially after some 'nip/tuck', more like 'slash/extract/add/stretch/stitch' lol but anyway even that will not make all the internal parts 18 again, so any improvement will be just fine.

I've recently been thinking the same thing. I'm 30 lbs away from goal, so it is feeling more real. Will I be happy at 140? Will that be too high or too low? Where are these additional 30 lbs come from? I want to keep my butt, but lose my tummy, but what if the opposite happens?

Soooo hungry today thanks to my experimental overdose on stevia to promote malabsorption/laxative effect. Worked like crazy and everything I ate for like the prior 24 hours came out, probably everything from yesterday as well.
Won't be doing that again.
Just small amounts for regularity. TMI much...
Anyway when I logged everything here's what I had:
B: Coffee with protein shake & Blended protein shake with half banana and one strawberry
L: Salmon salad (pâté style) with one crisp cracker
S: Boiled egg & nuts
S: chilly cow froyo bar
D: salmon salad (again), protein chips & a half cup of watermelon
Plus water, tea, coffee
Next time I'll skip the extra shake don't even need the extra protein...

This week my diet was relaxed as i ate a slice of cake, a slice of pie, a tortilla chip (lol) and a few pieces of fruit. so the scale decided to move again. After a month. No rhyme or reason to stalls I swear. If I was perfect on plan , no change....

Doesn't that blow your mind? I've had this happen time and time again. Makes me shake my head. I think sometimes a shake up to the ole metabolism wakes it up? Who knows....just glad once in a while we can have our cake (within reason) and lose weight, too:)

Went to the movies with my children and refilled the popcorn bucket for them multi times and didn't touch a drop!

I am in panera drinking tea and went to use the bathroom, this is the first time I have seen myself in a full length mirror naked ish and I look... OK but man I may need plastics. I was trying to avoid it and hoping slow weight loss would make a difference but I look pregnant (still) and noticing some skin drooping, sigh.

I think you look great! Give your skin a bit more time before you get too hung up on plastics. Even losing slowly, you've lost a lot of weight in a short time!

See, I had to check on that nakedness in Panera myself, lol. You look great, we all have those nekkid skin issues.I will need major ps. I did read that it can improve with time. My old Weight Watchers leader said hers smoothed out alot after 6 years. At my age I'm not waiting 6 years to find out. Do whatever you need to to make yourself more comfortable even if it's more slicing n dicing.

Protein bars are evil. I've been on the go so much that it's been my go to meals lately so when I finally sit down with dense proteins and vegetables tonight (eggs beans cottage cheese kale bowl) my restriction is crazy tight because I forgot about it. Lol no more slider bars for me

Is that how it works? I eat protein bars most mornings. One of the few solid foods I can eat. Are you saying they're really sliders?

For me they appear to be, I wasn't big on them until recently so that may be a factor, but Im counting them amoung my high calories low restriction food groups and I want to monitor how often I eat these items.

Today I actually looked small to myself! This is the lowest weight of my adult life... I cant even imagine being smaller. Only 20 lbs to goal 1 then re evaluate from there.

I remember that day myself, walking around outside waiting on wife at doctor and turned corner and saw myself in mirrored office window. Stopped me in my tracks cause i think that was the first time i really saw i was not the same size.

That must have felt amazing! Congrats! I certainly haven't felt "small" yet, but I did start seeing myself as more "normal" looking last week. I felt like I'd crossed the threshold of people seeing me and not immediately thinking "Wow, she's huge!"
