  1. Sleeved 8/16 and have lost 54lbs since surgery.
  2. Dilaudid. Only used it the night I got home from the hospital and the next day.
  3. Good luck!! Ya on the POST-Op side!!
  4. 2 weeks- 15lbs. 2 shakes a day and one protein meal, a snack of cottage cheese, yogurt, or fruit and all the veggies I wanted (minus the starchy ones- corn, potato.. etc.).
  5. My PATs included a EKG, chest X-ray, blood work, urinalysis, ABG, and workup from the NP at the surgeon's office.
  6. Good luck tomorrow!!
  7. I had to follow the 15min rule since I was having trouble getting fluids in and now I've reduced it to an ounce every 10mins. I tolerate warm soup/broth better than plain water like a lot of others had said. I think I'm just waiting on swelling to go down. Also, in the mornings I have "morning sickness" where I get really nauseas and have spasms. I'm going to sip on a shake first thing tomorrow morning because I'm thinking it might be from hunger because water doesn't do the trick. Also, had a REAL BM today that had me thanking Jesus (Sounded like Madea for a moment). [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
  8. A friend of mine gave me some great lip balm in a little gift before surgery. With the dry mouth and lips- it was a real life saver. Also had some great smelling coconut lotion my hubby put on my legs and feet to help me feel human. Other than a change of clothes for home, I didn't use a single other thing I brought (never even showered there) except for my phone charger. I only stayed overnight.
  9. My surgery went well. When they went in, found out I had a hiatal hernia that needed repairing so that was done in addition to the sleeve. Having a cough and cold has been brutal. I'd recommend postponing surgery if you have some sort of cold going on. I cough up stuff, accidentally swallowing if sometimes, then my stomach doesn't agree and spasms. So there's that... My nausea is improving. Had a spell this morning that made me vomit with my first water but was fine after that. The pain is non-existent at all 4 of my lap sites (as well as the 1 drain site). I am struggling to get all of my water in so protein is on the back burner. I can only drink an ounce at a time and around every 15mins. The surgeon's office called yesterday and advised me to just focus on water over the weekend until I can tolerate more and also start using Milk of Magnesia since I haven't had to "go" yet. That stuff is NASTY. Lol. Anyway, that's pretty much it for now. About to go for a short walk outside although it's pretty hot and humid out.
  10. I was told in the hospital to wait 15 mins after each pill to take the next.
  11. In 7:30am on 8/16 and out 4:30pm 8/17.
  12. Burping/ some pooting. Lol. Sipping on some liquids. It is hard to keep up. Especially when my stomach is not really into this drinking thing right now. I keep battling nausea.
  13. You'll be fine. Remember the pre op diet is to help shrink your liver so try not to cheat. Also, seems all of our pre ops are different. I had to have shakes for 2 meals and one real meal of a lean protein and all the vegetables I wanted. Also included 2 snacks. So I found my diet to be pretty easy. Lost 16lbs. By sticking to it! Told my surgeon if only we could eat like that for the long term without the surgery! Good luck!
  14. Hope our 8/16 group is doing well!! Luckily, because I'm young and healthy my cold wasn't a problem and surgery went as scheduled! Had a hiatal hernia repair along with the sleeve. I'm relaxing with some dilaudid right now and still battling the anesthesia nausea. Overall feel pretty good. They tell me I don't look like I just had surgery. Guess that's a good thing. Lol.
  15. You count those ounces toward your liquid goal of 64oz/day.
  16. Tomorrow's the big day. Really worried because just in the past 2 days I've come down with a cold. No fever, it's basically all nasal but the postnasal drip is irritating my throat. They said to proceed as normal and they'll assess me in the morning. Hope I'm well enough for surgery! I'm certainly ready!
  17. Here is what's acceptable in my program: This is for the first two weeks post-op.
  18. I'm super excited. Only my husband knows at this point and my family will know after. Ready to start over. I started my two week pre op diet last Monday (surgery 8/16) and after a week I'm down 7lbs and feeling good. Can't wait to start tracking more losses! I'm not particularly worried about the surgery- The only thing I'm worried about is my short term disability kicking in on time.
  19. I have anthem bc/bs of VA. I had to visit with my pcp for monthly weight consults/recordings for 6 consecutive months and her approval for surgery, psych eval, nutritionist visit, and cardiac clearance. After completing everything, my surgeons office sent in for approval which took about 2 weeks for anthem to notify me by mail that I was approved. Super excited because it's been a longggg journey.
  20. Awesome! Keep up the great work. I can hardly wait for 8/16!!
  21. I'm Jamie, from Virginia. Surgery date is August 16th. My starting weight was 356 and now weigh 335. I'm 5'11.
