Pre-op diet mess up

Help! I slipped and had a few bites to eat. I had waited to long between shakes and had a few forkfuls of my daughter's dinner. Didn't even realize it! Now I'm worried I won't be able to have my surgery come Monday. I have four days left, will I be ok! Stuck to it the first whole week and lost 10 lbs. struggling with it this week.

You'll be fine. Remember the pre op diet is to help shrink your liver so try not to cheat. Also, seems all of our pre ops are different. I had to have shakes for 2 meals and one real meal of a lean protein and all the vegetables I wanted. Also included 2 snacks. So I found my diet to be pretty easy. Lost 16lbs. By sticking to it! Told my surgeon if only we could eat like that for the long term without the surgery! Good luck!

Yes, my pre-op diet is similar: two shakes and a lean dinner. I'm very grateful not to be on all liquids (just the last day). So if you had a few bites, you'll be fine.

i would say youll be fine-my coworker didnt even have a pre op diet to follow. im sure they told her the best things to eat and not to go crazy but she had no liquids or anything. My doctor has me on full liquids for two weeks. Surgery is monday havent cheated but so so tempting really:blink: but i want to change my life way more. Best of luck with everything and again im sure youll be fine.

You will be fine. My doctor has me on shakes and one lean protein meal and then the last two days are liquid only. I plan to sleep through those days! My surgery is on Monday as well! Is there a group for it? Seems like there are quite a few of us!

My surgery is Tuesday. I was doing ok, but for some reason today I really want to eat! Doc has me on a 2 week liquid only diet. Lost 10 pound so far. I have friends coming in town tomorrow just to have dinner with me and a group of friends. I'm going, but it is going to be tough!

Yes that will be tough! But you can do it!! I went out with friends on Tuesday and watched them drink vodka and eat nachos at a baseball game while I had water. It was so hard. But it's gonna be worth it!

Thank you for you encouragement, PJTaylor! I was really thinking about cheating. I went and the chef made a broth especially for me and let me take all the leftovers home! It was great seeing my friends and leaving feeling good about my choice!
