    lower bmi and gastic sleeve

That’s me. I had to actually GAIN weight to get me to a BMI of 35 and use Sleep Apnea as my cormorbimdity. It sucked. I had testing and so many visits from April 2017 till I finally got to my classes in August but it was worth it. I was sleeved on 10/30/17 and even though I was a lower weight than most at 202.4, I’m down almost 32 pounds my goal is 120 by June for Comic Con and loosing every day. I had a hard time walking, going up the steps in my own house, sleeping, everything. I just wished I had done it sooner. I had been trying for three years to get the weight off and all I did was gain. The last 7 weeks post-op I’ve lost more weight than with any other diet.

    4 weeks post op

I'm seven weeks post op and can't even get 1/4 cup or half cup in me still. It's good. My nutritionist was like, "YOU HAVE TO EAT THIS, AT THIS TIME AND EAT THIS AMOUNT". I talked to my doctor and she said, if I am getting my protein in still from shakes, it's fine, take your time and eat. If you eat actual food, and can't finish in the 20-30 minutes, then throw it out or put in fridge for next meal. I am on regular food as much as I can be now, still doing shake in the morning and at lunch, but had gone to Panda Express on Monday and did you know you can get SIDES from them? So I got a medium side of just beef, thinking Oh yeah, it's a little more than 5oz I can eat this. HA HA, it's day three and I'm still eating out of the "side of meat" box barely three pieces of meat if that. And I'm loosing every day. Yeah, don't over eat to get that EXACT 4-5 oz in. If you are full, get up and save it for later.

    Surgery date coming 12/28

We did a "food funeral" for about a week also, it was great. As far as the scale, i wouldn't unless you REALLY want to keep right at that right portion. I did just a shake in the AM, my snack of half apple, next shake at lunch and I did just what looked like four ounces of meat. I even did McDonalds, Wendys plain burgers (sucks without the buns) but two of them is about four ounces and I wound up loosing about 18 pounds for the two weeks. I got to the second week and honestly just stuck to shakes for all three meals. I got tired of the burgers. For water just get a 32oz bottle and fill it twice for the day and your done. That's your 64oz. If that much water is hard, use the Mio or Sugar Free Crystal Light, or even Decaf Tea For apps I use this one the Bariatricpal app and the Bariastic. Whenever I eat, drink, whatever I just input it into before doing it. Works great. And you can put in your weight everyday if you want and exercise. Sorry you are getting some anxiety over the surgery, I get it. But your just building it up a lot in your head. For me, I have been trying to get this weight off for three years on my own, killing myself to do it and all that happens is frustration and more weight. I'm also 51 and a mother of a 12 year old boy and six year old daughter. I went into the surgery, even telling the psychologist, my doctor, nurses and the anesthesiologist, I was looking forward to the surgery, because I needed a good two hour nap without hearing, mommy, mom, mommy I had the all cracking up at the hospital. Once you go under, you wake up and it's done. It's very easy. You got this!!!

    No pain?

No you wont stretch it out. I am 7weeks post-op out and I talked to my doctor about this same thing, thinking I was over doing it, but she said i'd have to literally eat, get sick, eat, get sick, and keep doing that to stretch it out. You know when you are full then just stop eating. I thought I was doing it with drinking my fluids, LOL. Your doing good on the amount of weight you are loosing. Just take it slow and small bites. With me my nose starts to run once I'm full. It's the craziest thing. It's a big long medical word for it, but when my nose starts running, then I know I'm full. My doctor also said that I should stop eating like two bites before that happens I still get the burps even when doing shakes if I gulp to fast. Your ok

  6. Hi all. Just had my Sleeve surgery on Monday and already very happy about it. The home health nurse is coming out today to check on me. But wanted to ask you all if you were able to get ALL of your 64 ounces of fluids in everyday. So far I’m only up to about 35oz five days out? I have increased over the last couple of days but no way I can do the total amount yet????

    Eating to fast

HI there, Yes, it takes me maybe 20-25 minutes to eat depending on what it is. If it's a drink, like a shake/smoothie, I get up and walk around, tidy up something in the house, check email, or play a game on phone. If it's warm food, I keep it on a cup warmer and try and do the same thing, walk around house, check tv, try and stretch it out as long as possible. And this is even with chewing food 20+ times.

    OCTOBER SLEEVERS CHECK IN HERE

Was sleeved 10/30 and started the Soft and Moist foods this week and so much happier. I'm done with jello, Kool aid, popsicle and on to food. Went through our Kaiser handouts and The Idiots Guide, Everything your need to know about WLS, Bariatrtic Cookbook and one other and wrote down ALL of the ingredients needed for this stage. Sent my husband out to get everything and now have a good idea of what I want to eat for the three meals a day. I'm on this stage for four weeks, and needed something other than eggs. I had banana/yogurt smoothie today and it was OH.MY.GOD.GOOD. I don't think I couldl've been on the liquid diet longer than the week I was on it.

    Tespo vitamin dispenser

I was able to get one when they were half off a few weeks ago, but haven't had a chance to open and get it started yet. I'd rather do them this way or chewable.
  10. I wound up having to GAIN 20+ pounds to just get to 200+ for my BMI to be over 35, it sucked. I'm 5'3”and the extra 70+ pounds on my frame is NOT good. BUT yes, the weight is taking a little longer to come off. I did loose about 20+ during the Pre-op diet so that was cool, and starting to loose now that I’m on Soft and Moist foods. I have not had a chance to walk the way I want or work out, just recovering and too much other stuff in house to do. But we'll get there. My goal is 130 before June 6th (my birthday) and have been told it's doable
  11. I had the exact same thing. I was taking a lot of naps the last couple of weeks. Sleeved 10/30. Doing much better now. It's lack of calories for sure. I'm on the Soft and Moist foods now, and still not back to 100% of me, but I'm not taking a nap now during the day, and don't feel like I need to take a rest after I get up and make bed, go to the bathroom, brush teeth, LOL. It does get better. Once you are able to add in food, even 1/4 cup, you'll feel better.
  12. I'm only three weeks post op and SOOOO glad I did this. Wish I had did it years ago. I’m already down about 20 pounds and just started my Soft and Moist foods this week and it's so much better. I'm only eating three times a day, but I'm not hungry and I'm not craving anything. I came out of surgery apparently laughing and making the nurses laugh. First couple of weeks were rough, but I'd do it all again. Hang in there.
  13. Hi all I was looking for a 200 pounds and under posts, but couldn't find it. Are there any of you out there under 200 pounds who had the surgery and loosing the weight. My frame is 5'3”and I was 202 at the start of the program, did the LSD, and lost about 15 pounds. Had the surgery on 10-30-17 and at about 181.1 pounds. I know I don't have as much weight to loose as others, but it's still hard for us that are at 200 pounds. So anyone want to talk, would love to hear from you.
  14. I got my surgery date the same day I met with surgeon. I had s lot to do before it that I got out of the way also.
  15. So three days post-op and did one of the Sugar Free Crystal Light Lemon and had my family go and get a few more flavors, but NONE of our lo stores have it. They just have the regular packs. Now they seem to have the same ingredients but was wondering if they are Truly the same??? I know I can get “actual” Sugar Free ones on Amazon, but holy crap, they are way expensive. Any suggestions or thoughts??? Thanks

    64oz A Day, Really?????

Update: ok so I drank my 11oz of Premier Protein Carmel and it was goooooood. BUT!!! It took me roughly from 1pm till almost 8pm to do it. On week too where I get mashed potatoes, oatmeal, cream of wheat, yogurt and pudding. I did the math so bare with me. I have averaged getting up around 10-11am since hubby has been home all week. If I’m up at 11am, I have to drink FOUR oz of water per hour which means, 11am sip, sip, sip. 11:15 am, sip, sip, sip. 11:30am sip, sip, sip. You see where km going with this. I’d have to stay up till about 3am to get in the 64oz they want us to get in????? Even if I get up at 8am, I’d be up till about 1am. HOW IS THIS RIGHT? And I’ve thrown popsicles in which are only 1.5oz each. My stomach has barely been able to hold 40oz and for that I seriously have to push it in,almost to the point of getting sick. I know they don’t want us to be dehydrated, which I’m not. Urine looks great, still no BM, but all I’ve had is water and we started adding the Mirolax to it today. But come on, 64oz of liquid?????? 64oz A Day, Really?????

Oh cool. Yeah I never have drank coffee so that one I don’t care about. I’ve been drinking in 2oz glasses the FairLife milk because that’s the only thing that taste really good. But I’ll check out our Sams for that water. What I’ve been finding also is the Vitamin Water Zero is too damn sweet. Even if I cut it with half water, just taste icky.
  18. Yes those little victories like being able to get up, walk down the street, for me it’s too put on my watch band and I can move up a notch!
  19. THATS FANTASTIC getting off all those meds too. Great job. I’d love to be down to 150s in three months that’s my same goal also is around 130. That’s the weight where I’m comfortable at and my wedding bands can fit!!! How did you do on your full liquid diet. I’m 2 days on mine and first day took eight hours to get one shake down. Today (Tuesday) only took about an hour, and couldn’t eat all my oatmeal, let alone anything else.
  20. Talk to your nut, they will help you get out of it. And yes I think because we are under that 200lb mark, it will be a little harder to loose it, but that is just showing that it can be done and we will be ready even that much better for it.

    64oz A Day, Really?????

Yes. I’m on my second day for full liquids and all I’ve been able to do is a Boost Shake. I think I will be able to get it down much faster today than Monday. The one on Monday took me about seven hours that day. I’d like to make my oatmeal and potatoes today, but need the strength to do it.

    64oz A Day, Really?????

Ha ha ha. Yes. Drinking or in the bathroom. I was not able to walk the 30 minutes a day, still can’t. Just not enough calories yet.
  23. HI ALL. Ok, so I had my surgery on 10/30 and all went well, got released the next day. Not in too much pain, have had slight nausea, but have been able to control it. I'm six days out and getting ready to finish the ALL LIQUID STAGE, thank god. Have any of you others been so depleted, that making the bed, getting dressed, brushing your teeth has been a monumental task? I know we have little to no calories on this phase but OMG I didn't think that just drinking water, Kool Aid, Jello was going to be this hard. What all have you done to combat this? I literally feel like my heart is going to explode when I even try and go to the bathroom, because of the amount of exertion I'm putting out based on the lack of calories????? Any thoughts/suggestions would be great. Thank you
  24. Oh awesome. Well with the two week pre-op diet, the surgery and this last seven days of clear liquids, I’m down about 22lbs. It might be more, our scales are old and not giving good reading. So the morning of surgery on the 30th, I got up a sn our scale said 190. Got to hospital with shoes on and it said 186, so that was a nice surprise.

    64oz A Day, Really?????

Yeah I’ll be working on oatmeal and mashed potatoes tomorrow. I switched my bottle I was using to a two ounce little glass but it’s still hard. I’m just SOOOOOO OVER water right now and it sucks, because I love water.
