  1. Hi Surgery Sibling! I'm also five days out. Today has been crazy for me. Lots of tummy rumbling, growly, and cramping. Also quite emotional. Whew! That'll wear ya out! I have had moments that I thought I was hungry then realized I had forgotten to take my PPI. I hope that helps you! Wishes for continued good healing!
  2. Surgery (sleeve) was 10/23 and today has been the roughest. Which may be weird. I have no idea. The pain isn't awful, no nausea at all, but crampy and tummy feels like it's been squeezing all day. And SO TIIRED! Been trying to rest as much as possible and soak up the news that we are welcoming a second grandson in March 2018! So today has been a big up and down for me emotionally. Looking forward to a better tomorrow.
  3. The challenge may be over but wanted to post my # since getting sleeved Monday. CW 194 ?
  4. 6 miles this week. Preop week has been busy!! Sleeve tomorrow! ?
  5. 199.0. Not too bad. Sleeve surgery Monday!!! ? Prayers and good thoughts appreciated.
  6. Also scheduled for 10/23. I start my full liquids on Monday. Then clear liquids next Sunday before surgery. Yay for us 23rd'ers!
  7. Hi! Sorry that I don't have any info on BCBS but wanted to say hello. I have Cigna and the process was pretty straightforward. 3 months supervised diet with my PCP, 2 support group meetings, 2 nutritionist appointments, psych eval, cardiac clearance, and upper GI were my requirements. Along with the supervised weight loss, insurance required a BMI of 40 or higher, or 35 with one or more comorbidities. The other requirements were those of my bariatric surgeon. The program offers unbelievable education and support. My sleeve surgery is 10/23 and I will start my week long liquid diet on Monday. Wishing you the best of luck as you go on this journey.
  8. Happy Weekend! Sorry I'm late posting this week. Friday the 13th was a crazy hectic day....ended up working 12.5 hours. Whew! Weight 10/13 201.0
  9. 7 miles this week thanks to the stomach bug.
  10. 201.4 this morning....finally!!! Feeling a little proud of this .... from 206. GREAT jumpstart to my day! Wishing everyone a fabulous Friday!
  11. 10 miles this week. Slowly figuring out to take care of my body as I do more and more. Surgery scheduled for 10/23 so we'll see how that impacts my miles. Just a huge shoutout to all of us for taking care of ourselves! Everybody seems to be doing a great job!
  12. My surgery got moved to 10/23, a day earlier than originally scheduled. My pre-op education class is on the 10th and will start liquids on the 16th. Holy moly!! It's getting real! Best of luck to all of us moving to the post op side this month!!
  13. Happy Sunday! My surgery has been moved up one day to 10/23. Three weeks!!! I am so excited to stop the yo yo game. I think I'm most nervous about the liquid diet and post op nausea than anything else. Wishing you all the best with your upcoming surgery. Keep us posted!
  14. 204.2 Lots of walking this week ... starting to pay off!
  15. Late logging in this week but 14.3 miles this week. Hoping I can stay consistent with a crazy busy schedule coming up! Wishing everyone the best!
  16. Well, not proud of this number but here it is. 206.7 Time to buckle this down and get the scale moving in the right direction. So badly want to be at or below 200 by surgery date, 10/24.
  17. WOW!!!! I can't run 12 feet at this point.
  18. Congrats on the three miles! Why does work have to get in the way of things?? heehee A friend of mine and I were talking earlier today how work just gets in the way when we are trying to schedule in some grown up, kid free mom time. Here's hoping this week will be smoother going for you.
  19. Walked 13.44 miles this week. Kinda shocked myself.
  20. Still at 204. Much better than my HW so I'll keep pushing.
  21. Hi! Same date (as long as insurance approves) and same doctor! Great to meet someone on here that's close!
  22. That's awesome!!! Congratulations! I'm thinking of working toward one of those. There are a lot of fundraising 5k's scheduled over the next few months that are catching my eye. I noticed that you said you felt you could run it. Would you mind sharing any tips for those of us who are considering starting to run? I've been more a walking fan but running has a certain draw to it.
  23. You got this! Taking the time to do the work that has brought you this far has prepared you for this week. Keep up the great work!
