The multiple times a day BMs I had pre-surgery were not something I thought I was going to miss, but now that I am at the point where I have to take a stool softener, Miralax and eat a lot of Fiber One each day to stay regular is annoying, but I'll take the occasional need for an enema over being 400 pounds again.

    BEST THING IVE EVER DONE!!
I am addicted to moving now. I can't stop, I don't wanna just sit around and stuff my face and be sad for myself, it was tough in the beginning, I threw up if i ate too fast, or drank to quickly.
The whole, no drinking while eating before and an hour after was tough for me.
I'd eat dinner, and then I'd want to go to the gym, but I HAVE to drink while I work out, so then had to wait an hour before i went.
I just had a lil period of time management struggles haha.
But I figured it all out, the first 3 months are a challenge. But I walked EVERYDAY. Even if it was slowly. Then every day got easier, everyday I got stronger. Felt better, didn't hurt when I took a step. Now, with what my fit bit tells me... I'm walking about 8-10 miles a day!
I also work in a hospital, so I'm not at a desk, so I'm lucky.
After surgery I walked the mall cause of all the snow we had, then as it got nice I walked outside, now people actually know me at the gym!!!
I was ashamed to walk in the gym and I had a hard time walking through the doors, I felt like people were staring at me (they are NOT) haha
And I still even now get nervous walking in, but then I hear,
"hey Katie!! Your here early today!!"
And I just get on the elliptical and go to town!!!!
Anyone that has a Fitbit pm me!!
I'm obsessed with mine!! Feel free to ask me anything! I'm here if anyone needs anything!

Agreed with everything everyone said. This happened to me too, but my surgeon said to get full sugar Gatorade (I got the natural, Whole Foods brand) and drink veggie broth. It helped me within a few minutes! So maybe ask them if you can try it?

Drink milk and broth and a little watered-down juice. Don't worry about eating yet, you just need to get your energy from liquids.

My sleeve date is Tuesday the 19th. I am super excited. I think I have nervous energy tonight. Laundry is done . I have my hospital bag packed. All my clear Proteins lined up ready to go. It's like "nesting" at the end of pregnancy. Its taken about 9 months of preparation, testing etc to get to this point! Let's do this!

My family has a bad history of diabetes, that one will be one of my deciding factors for sure. -Thanks again-

Well sleep apnea and hypertension shouldn't have much of an impact on which procedure you choose as they'll both improve them significantly as you lose weight. But the bypass is king for diabetes. If your diabetes is poorly controlled or something you struggle with (or just a long term concern of yours) then the bypass is the way to go.
