tabula got a reaction from Ready4theday in Weight not going down
I can't tell you how many times I felt just like you. You'll see a lot of responses about a 3 week stall, which I guess is pretty common. I didn't experience it at week 3 but I can tell you I have on many other weeks. It is super discouraging but just know the weight will come off and sometimes it's inches not just weight. So easy to say so hard to live through. I'd eat less and stall, i'd work out and stall, I'd eat more and lose I wouldn't work out and lose. I'm sure there is a bunch of science and explanations but understand weight loss is not linear.
I'm 20 weeks out and have had a ton of ups and downs but down a good amount of weight, slowly losing but clothes fit so much better, tempted to go shopping but still have 40lbs to lose.
Hang in there, don't get discourage, keep following your plan and you'll lose a gain, I promise.
BTW - losing 32lbs is awesome! Congrats!

My bowel movements severely slowed down after surgery and actually still has (TMI)! This scared me a lot too but my doctor had prepared me for it and gave me instructions on how to handle, starting with Miralax. I want to say it was probably 5 days before my first BM and it was difficult for probably 6-8 weeks. Infrequent and painful.
Make sure you're drinking enough Water and definitely contact your doctor. You will definitely want to take a stool softener.
I think because our diets change so much it really changes our bathroom practices, for the better.
    Good luck!

Don't get discouraged, I know easy to say right. But it's true, I think you're doing great! 60lbs!?! That's awesome. From what I've read on here a month stall is not that uncommon. You'll break through it, just focus on each day. Also, what about inches, often I find when I haven't lost weight I did lose some size. As far as on track we all lose differently, I don't think you're far off of the median, some lose more some lose less.
If you haven't started to work out, i strongly encourage that. Your metabolism has probably adjusted to your new habits and you need to reboot the system. Start by just walking for minutes 3x a day, then start to increase it. Or get on the stationary bike. Make sure you're drinking enough Water too.
Also, mix up your diet with new/different healthy food.
I've been stalled the last few weeks +/- 2lbs but I did fit into smaller jeans this morning so that gave me a boost.
Remember all the weight loss stats are based on a 1 year, you're not even half way there!
You'll get there, I just know it!

I use those MIO flavor enhancers to flavor up Water. Also, you just have to constantly have water in your hand/near you and sip sip sip sip. I think you ramp up to the amount you can do, it was hard for me at first too.
Lots of people struggle with it but it's an important part of the process.

tabula got a reaction from sjandj715 in Week 11 stall?
I think stalls happen at random times and there's not a set schedule. We all have them and talk about them and it's true you just need to keep following the plan and the weight will come off, also measuring inches help too. I think our metabolism gets jacked, so mixing things up can help that (exercise, types of foods, amount of intake, etc).
I noticed that I'd stall everytime I worked out during that week and think I'm not getting enough calories or working out to hard. I'm in week 13 and have stalled (for a week) 2x now, but wasn't until later, I'll have a 0 loss week then a random 6lb loss.
Keep it up and as easy as it is to say but hard to do....don't get discouraged but I know it's frustrating!

Not sure about anyone else but I was not maintaining my weight and was on a 10 to 20 lb increase each year, so every week I don't see the scale go down, I'm just happy it hasn't gone up!
You've done great, just keep the focus and hitting it everyday!

I understand where you're coming from and don't blame you for wanting your child to lose her weight naturally. Surgery is a big deal and it's not 100% solution, it's a tool to help you get healthy. When I was getting my surgery, it was 50/50 from people saying GREAT vs ARE YOU SURE?
I've struggled with my weight since college and yo-yo dieting is not good on your body or emotions. The older and bigger you get the harder it is to get off.
My insurance didn't cover and I paid out of pocket which for me makes me even more determined to lose 100% and keep it off.
She'll need the support to be successful and as been mentioned in prior posts, look at the statistics of obesity and mortality, the young more obese you are the worse off you are.
I too which I had done this in my 20s vs 30s. Remember it's a tool to weight loss, not a magic bullet. I think most of us are here because we couldn't do it without a tool like this.
So you know this is the best decision I've ever made and am extremely happy.

I'm almost 8 weeks out and I find some days I'm hungrier than others. I didn't work out until week 4, once I was on soft foods, so I would take it easy as your body is trying to heal from the inside out.
Sounds like you're tracking what you eat, which is good, just make sure you're staying within the guidelines. I eat a little something every 2 hours.
Also make sure it's not head hunger, I've found it takes 15-25 minutes for my stomach to tell me that it's full. I've made that mistake a couple times.

I have a desk job and took 3 days off (includes the 2-days in the hospital) and then the weekend, so Wed - Sun, guess that's 5 total days but was home doing some work remotely, so i could have gone back on Sunday pretty easy.
I work 12-ish hour days and noticed I was tired towards the end of the day so I took it easy the first couple days (8 - 10hrs) but then was back to my regular schedule the next week.
I think energy wise you'll be fine, it's the pain management, I was off of my pain meds by Saturday.
I agree though, sounds like a huge range of experiences and mine felt like it was on the faster side.
Lastly, I had prepared my employer for me to be off a week though, just in case.

I'd make sure to track everything you eat so you know how many calories you're consuming and how many carbs. Set a goal and stick to it. Easy right I know it's hard but your sleeve should help you, agree with getting Protein in first to fill you up and make sure to walk 30 minutes a day.

Misery loves company! I'm also in a stall have great weight loss the first 5-weeks. I'm focusing on the total loss in addition to the fact that without the WLS I'd be gaining so staying flat is losing right Scary though it happened at the same time I started to eat sold foods.....
It's still frustrating but I'm keeping my head down and focusing on the plan.
BTW - I'm eating 90g of Proteins but I'm bigger than you as well.

My fitness pal is a great app and has a great deal of food in the database, if not an exact match you get close enough. Only think I don't like is not a great size converter (i.e. volume vs weight) for all items.
Also, has function to scan the barcode, which I find very helpful

tabula got a reaction from kellkizzle21 in Did I Stretch My Stomach Back Out????
It's really a weird sensation. Water started to get easier and easier to get it in without having to take little sips. I find when there is no food in my stomach I can drink quite a bit of water, No gulps but regular drinks. I drink a Protein Drink with out the wait time before or after I've had water.
However, now that I'm eating regular food, i do have to wait the 30mins to an hour after eating or it does hurt.
My guess, liquid passes through with out any substance.
