New recipe with pictures at http://sleevers.wordpress.com/2013/09/28/high-protein-paleo-gluten-free-fish-masala-curry/
As many of you know, I’m not a professional cook so there’s a lot of trial and error going on for me. One of the hardest things since being sleeved, is knowing how much to cook and getting the proportions right. I struggle with this, and this recipe is a classic example of it.
You’ll note that I made twice as much of the “masala” as I should have. Since the masala is the most time-consuming part of this recipe, and since it keeps very well, I thought I’d leave the recipe as is, and let you save half the masala as I did. Tomorrow, I will show you how to re-purpose that into something else. So here goes.
    Ingredients
1 lb firm-flesh fish (I used a combination of halibut, shrimp, and scallops because that’s what I had!)
    1 small onion
    3 cloves garlic
    2 in piece of ginger
    1 medium tomato
1/4 c of shredded, unsweetened coconut (if unavailable, use some coconut milk instead of water)
    3 tsp oil
    2 tsp ground turmeric
    1/8 tsp mustard seeds
    1/8 tsp cumin seeds
    1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
    1 tsp garam masala
    salt to taste
    1 c water
4 tbsp chopped cilantro for garnish and flavor
    Method
    1. Marinate the fish with 1 tsp oil, 1 tsp turmeric and 1/4 tsp salt
    2. Meanwhile, pulse the onion, garlic and ginger in a food processor or chop finely. Do not liquefy.
    3. Heat 2 tsp oil in a pan. When it starts to shimmer, put in the mustard and cumin seeds and let them sputter. This sounds like popcorn popping.
    3. Add in the onion/garlic/ginger mix and cook over medium heat. This is a labor of love so do not rush it. It may take 10 minute and that’s just the way it goes.
    4. Add in the chopped tomatoes, all of the rest of the spices and the coconut and mix well.
    6. Realize that you have no idea how to make small quantities. Take out half the masala and save it in a tupperware container.
    7. Into the remaining masala, add in half a cup of Water, and the fish that has been marinating.
    8. Cover and let it come to a boil. When it boils, take it off the heat and let it sit for 10 minutes so that the fish cooks gently. This keeps it from over-cooking.
    9. Garnish with cilantro and enjoy!
While the rest of your family might enjoy this over rice, we gave ourselves two pieces of fish and a little sauce. Then we shredded the fish and ate it semi-moist. It was moist, but not soupy and therefore not a slider.

Can't take credit for this as I found it googling ways to use Protein Powder but it sure was good and thought it was worth sharing.
    Protein pancakes
Mix vanilla Protein powder with enough Water to make a pancake batter consistency.
I used a small amount of coconut oil in a small skillet and pour in the batter, cooks just like pancake batter, sprayed on some butter spray and a small bit of sugar free maple syrup!
Amazing!!! What a treat and a great way to use up the protein powder that most of us are tired of drinking and an awesome 27 gram start of protein for the day!

This recipe is being shared from Bariatric Pal
Craving bread? Fill that craving with this declicious and almost carb-free cloud 'bread.'
Cloud bread can be used as a snack or part of a meal.
Note: This recipe makes about 10 peices of bread. Refrigerate leftovers.
    Ingredients:
    3 eggs, separated
3 tablespoons whole milk cottage cheese or 3 tablespoons cream cheese
    1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 (1 g) packet stevia or your favorite sugar free sweetener
    Directions:
    Preheat your oven to 300*F.
    1. Separate the egg yolks and whites into two separate bowls. Make sure that no yolk mixes with the egg whites.
    2. In a large bowl mix the egg yolks with the cream cheese OR cottage cheese until well mixed.
    3. In a separate bowl add the cream of tartar to the egg whites. Using a mixer (egg beater), mix the egg whites and cream of tartar until they are fluffy, white, and form peaks when you remove the beaters.
    4. Fold (don't mix) the egg yolk mixture into the egg whites. Do this slowly and gently so the mixture remains fluffy (this is key!).
    5. Take about 10 even scoops (about the size of a freshly baked cookie when placed on the pan) from the mixture and place them on 2 lightly greased cookie sheets (Cooking Spray works well).
    6. Place on the middle racks in your oven and cook for 20 to 40 minutes until they are golden brown. Time varies depending on the size of your cloud bread and your oven, so keep an eye on them!
    7. Remove from oven and let cool at room temperature.
    8. Once cooled, place in a plastic bag or tupperwear and place them in your refrigerator overnight.
Note: It takes a few hours (overnight typically) in the fridge to get to the consistency of bread. If you try them too soon, they will crumble.
Enjoy this wonderful treat, packed with Protein, low in carbs and

They had a special on her site for 10,500 for the royal body lift package.
    Starting was 266
    Goal is 130
    Right now 146

I'm still losing but have slowed a lot. I have so much extra skin though it is ridiculous.

So I spoke with the kind lady at Beauty Enhance after the doctor reviewed my photos and made a recommendation. I decided to go with a royal lower body lift for the first procedure in my journey. I scheduled for this fall. I am beyond excited! Trying to think how I break this news to my boss....

Dude nobody knows before hand the physiological things of something this intense until it happens. Yes I knew I wasn't going to stuff my face with a full cheeseburger and that's one reason I wanted this from the beginning because I was tired of eating this big ass burger. The journey that leads to where you are sir! If everyone can mentally pull of thoughts we would all be skinny huh? Just like you would be skinny and wouldn't have this surgery in the first place. I agree I need to take it day by day thank you and no thank you to your opinion

Hang in there! Im sure a lot of us felt the way u do! I know i did! I was sleeved Aug 16th & surprising to me, lost 15lbs already. Im just 3 lbs away from beinging out of the 200s but I feel scared that once im able to eat food again I will gain those 15lbs back. Slowly but surely! So I made an eating plan that I hope will help me plus I will be attending,in person,a support grp + a healthy balance support group! These class are offered thru Kaiser & they're free! The Healthy Balance class has helped me to loose the weight I needed to loose before my surgery so I figured the support group will help also! I also look forward to getting back to my Water Aerobics class!
So hang in there because once you see your success, no matter how large or small, you'll automatically Won't want to go backwards![emoji3]

Ooh, another idea is Peanut Butter powder. Might make it taste a little grainy, but worth a shot. You might even be able to find a sample pack at Walmart to try.

Well, considering each surgeon has different requirements, your mileage may vary but I know that my surgeon's office says they do a urine test to determine the presence of nicotine or marijuana... which I'm not sure how they can do that seeing as I can't eat or drink anything starting at 11pm the night before the surgery. I'm hoping they do it instead with the two vials of blood they drew from me on Wednesday.
Then again, my surgeon's office does tend to refer people to quit programmes across the state, so if you're involved in one of those, obviously they would advise you on how to handle that.
    Ask your surgeon.
I know the feeling. The liquid diet sucks.
Well, take comfort in knowing that the hormone that generates the hunger craving is likely to be reduced as a function of the surgery. In fact, I've heard some people say that they've forgotten to eat.

Try adding sucralose (Splenda) and cinnamon to taste. Delicious!
Are you familiar with EZ-Sweetz? It's liquid sucralose and mixes wonderfully with yogurt and everything else. It may seem kind of pricey for a small amount but a little of that stuff goes a really long way. I love it.
