Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum
Well all, my surgery is Tuesday. Have a feeling the bypass is gonna be a lot different than getting a band (more pain, I'm guessing... as if my band wasn't painful enough) Start my diet Saturday. Guess I'm going to spend a couple days being hangry. Just love that word... it says it all. Maybe we can start thinking about a date in January to get together??

Lap Band Removal, Supervised Diet, And Gastric Bypass Rny All In The Next 4 Months
Welcome to our little forum here. Can't tell you much about the actual surgery (going in in 15 days). I am hoping for you that the surgeon is able to get this done for you in time. I was actually suprised at the number of people revising from a band. Good you found out about the change in your insurance, and are able to be (hopefully) proactive and get this done. Looking forward to getting to know you (and everyone else) better..

Looking To Start The Gastric Bypass Buddy Threads
WOW. That is fast. I had my band removal in Febuary. Had to gain about 10 pounds , so I got approved and on "the list" in March. Taken me this long to get to the top and have the surgery. Welcome, though. Hoping you will be having your surgery really soon. Would love to have some buddies along the way also.

It was nice meeting you too. No, you most surely did not ask too many questions. I know we were both happy to answer any you had. The pain is generally from being "blown up" with gas (so they have more room to work). Walking usually helps the residual gas dissipate... right Nora?

we sit by the front door for a few minutes. If you are runing late, just tell the hostess you are with some people. Usually they say we are "with the band" LOL I will probably be there about 5-10 minutes early. looking forward to meeting you. -julie

Works for me. I am in Colorado. Surgery will be on Dec 20,- Sorry, one more BCBS of IL ? regarding weight watchers
Good for you, and congrats!!! I am always so happy to see someone who gets approved without half killing themself jumping through hoops. What state is your BC through? I had issues with 2 different states. MI years ago... I wrote letters, got doctor documentation, sent pictures of me from the age I was 6, even went downtown for a personal meeting, and still they said no. Then IL... and they might have paid, if I did everything they wanted. Even though I desperatly needed surgery right away for an incarcerated hernia, they wouldn"t pay to have both surgeries done at the sam e time. Stupid, huh? Why allow the patient to have the surgeries done at ine time? Why not pay for 2 sesperate procedures and force the patient to go under the knife (and through general anesthesia) twice?- On my way to revision from lap band to gastric bypass
Glad you're feeling well enough to get back to work. 23 pounds in 2 weeks. Wow. Impressive. Anxious to hear what your 2 month total is To everone else.... Good luck to all who are still waiting for their surgery. Looks like we"ve all been on a long, roundabout way to get here.- first one to post...
I'm also glad of this site, and hoping it will grow. Until then we will just have to be our own little group and help each other out!!!- Switching from band to RNY Gastric Bypass (Pre-Op)
Hey losing. Glad we will be on the journey together too. Got my surgery date yesterday. I am scheduled for Dec, 20th. It is going to take a bit longer than a usual bypass because even though I no longer have my band it is considered a revision surgery.- Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum
