what size are you in after large loss??
I am now officially down 100 pounds and have only gone down 3 pants sizes (from a womans 32 to a 26). I am wearing a 18-20 top (as well as it is stretchy, and short... <so it does not have to fit over my belly>) It is so frustrating to still be wearing such a large size. It is because of my very large pannus. Anyone else with this problem?? If so... any suggestions???

Theresa, Thank you so much for the kind words. A lot of it depends on how much you have to lose. I had quite a bit to lose. Even after 100 pounds I still have almost as much left to lose as some people start off needing to lose . Can't say I've done anything special. Just eating less. I try to listen to my band. I don't always succeed, but I try to stop eating when I get a soft stop (my nose runs). Have you been charting your food? exercising? not eating slider foods? How many calories a day have you been doing?? How is your fill?? Too much?? Too little??? I try to stay under 1200 cals a day (though, I find if I'm not diligent about eating more I tend to only get in about 600-700 a day.... I truly believe that's why it has taken me this long to get down 100). I chart my foods on dailyplate.com I do not exercise much... another reason for what I consider a slow loss (for me, at least). I have just started doing weights while sitting down (exercising my arms since I have a really really bad knee). I occasionally try to do Water aerobics, though even that can cause me knee issues. I attempt to get in all my water (at least 80 oz a day) and try to get in at least 90-100 grams of Protein a day. Both these things I am not always the best at.... though my intentions are good :frown:. I believe we should take a Vitamin every day (another thing I am not so great at). I use chewable Vitamins, Vitamin Cottage has some really good ones (I like the pineapple flavored). If you would like to PM me please do so. Us CO girls need to stick together. Too bad you don't live closer, I have a few girls I meet with monthly or so for support. They were all banded by Dr. Kirshenbaum (though I wasn't). It is great to have some sort of support. Do you have anyone near you? Do you go to any support meetings/groups?? julie

Broooke, Sorry so long in the reply. Dr Metz seems to be a good doctor. I was just sort of taken aback by a couple of things he has said to me. He did not do my original surgery, I had a different surgeon who left the state and arranged for him to take over his patients. I think I will stick with Dr Brown, even though I am a lot closer to Parker than to PSL. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying anything about his medical skills, everyone who I know who he has operated on has been very happy with him. Could just be me.....

How often do you weigh yourself
It's always nice to see a guy on the boards. They are definetly female heavy (so to speak). :wink2: Just wanted to say congrats on your band, seeing as you are fairly newly banded.

I hear ya!!! I never wore jeans when I was bigger because I always felt they looked like clown pants on me due to the fact that my thighs are not that big (still big, but not in proportion to my huge belly) I invariably wore stretch pants, since I could get them a bit smaller and they wouldn't look so baggy on me. I have a theory that this fact, in a small part, is how I got so big. Dress pants/jeans are a lot less forgiving than stretch pants. When you gain weight wearing them you know it. If it weren't for this stomach I would probably be able to get into a 16, no problem. But.... right now I am still in a 26 :w00t:
