  1. Update. Food makes no difference, so I just stopped taking them. I will try again in a few weeks.
  2. This person is NOT a friend. CUT TIES.
  3. I have to force myself to eat. ZERO HUNGER. It is so weird!
  4. Where it gets really interesting is when you listen to the difference between some doctors and nutritionists that disagree saying the stretching of the pouch is all bogus hype to get you to lose more weight, and not backed by science.
  5. We were sleeved around the same time. I was the 29th of January.
  6. It is my understanding that is for the bypassers only, not the sleevers.
  7. So, for the last few days I have been FREEZING. ⛄ I have never been cold ever. I wear shorts all winter, never wear a jacket unless it gets below 20 degrees out. Now I find myself sitting on the couch, and instead of tshirt and shorts like usual, i'm wearing sweatpants and a sweatshirt, and i'm still cold! Is this normal? Does it ever go away? Does it get worse the more weight I lose? Just curious.
  8. OK, I feel really dumb. Bottle says right on it, "TAKE WITH FOOD"... and me, the big dummy, didn't take it with food, just swigged some gatorade to wash it down. It is the worst I have felt so far though. Everything else hasn't been bad. Tonight for dinner I had "Chicken Parm". The reason I put it in quotes was it was actually 1 ounce of ground chicken with some marinara, and some provolone. It was DELICIOUS!
  9. First of all, they are nasty!!! Secondly, i was sleeved on 1/29, and have had zero issues with being sick or vomitting or even gagging. Today I took the dreaded chewable multivitamin and immediately started gagging with dry heaves and spit. Anyone else have this issue? Anyone else have a better idea than these chewables that taste so horrible.
  10. Sorry, i can't eat anything that looks like someone ate it before me and threw it up in a bowl. I am the fussiest fat guy ever. I don't eat casseroles, nothing with gravy on it, nothing that swims, only veggies i eat are corn, peas, green beans, beets, and carrots. Think diet of a 13 year old male. I seldomly try anything new, and my main motto is "if it doesn't look good, isn't cooked well done, and doesn't taste good, I'm not eatin it"...
  11. Luckily i don't have a pureed food stage. I only have 4 stages: Preop, Clear Liquid after surgery while in hosp, Soft foods, and then everything. I am so looking forward to a scrambled Egg tomorrow. I hope i don't regret it!
  12. So it's day 13 since my surgery. I have lost 21lbs while on the full liquids. I have now lost 60lbs from my high. Just curious, will my weight loss slow down on soft foods? I started walking each day around the block from my house. .75 miles. Did that for about 4 days, then reversed and did two laps. With the exception of the belly button blowing continually and having to be drained due to the umbilical hernia, the surgery so far has went without any pain except for the gas pain the day of the surgery. I feel good. Tired, but good. Not that I felt bad at my high of 417. Wierd thing is, I haven't eaten anything since 1/28 and I'm not the least bit hungry. Don't get me wrong, I want to eat, but not because i'm hungry, but because I'm sick of these protein shakes. So looking forward to scrambled EGG in the morning tomorrow. OHHHH, and i'm looking forward to tomorrow being the last of my two blood thinner shots!!!! They suck. If in Virgina, and thinking of this surgery, please consider my doc, Dr. Nicholas Dugan, at Novant Health UVA in Haymarket VA. He's a great doc, great HONEST bedside manner. He is very young, but I was one of his first patients using the davinci and could not be more pleased.
  13. If you ever go to Schenectady NY, be sure to get a "24 Cut"... It is a huge rectangle shaped pizza, and without a doubt the best pizza ever.
  14. I have this thing about only eating foods that taste good, and don't make me vomit from the smell or taste. "potatoes, rosemary, garlic & Gorgonzola" on a pizza? My boss at the pizza place said back in the 80's when kids would come in and try to order pineapple and ham, "Get the eff outta hea"... Then he would turn to me and say "what's next, freakin jellybeans on a pizza!" I'm a purist, Pepperoni, Black Olives, and occasionally sausage.
  15. Thankfully the hernia is repaired, this just fluid build up. Thanks.
  16. Eh, I am taking it as it comes. It's too late to turn back now!!! But sadly, the swelling is back, and my poor belly button is the size of a golf ball again. I have an appt tomorrow, and he will probably have to drain it again. UGH! Deep stitch issue sounds much worse. Hope once the stitch disolves, it will go away?
  17. Don't like pizza???? ?????????? That is heresy!!! ???
  18. You must have missed the part where i said "I'm the fussiest fat guy you will ever meet". I don't eat a lot of things, especially Cauliflower, broccoli, spinach, brussle sprouts, or anything that swims. ?
  19. Nope. I am the fussiest fat guy you will ever meet. Not many foods that i like or WILL eat.
  20. Sounds like a plan! Couldn't you use super lean ground beef as well?
  21. Curious... How long before you could eat your first piece of pizza? It seems as if each doctor has a different diet plan for before/after surgery. For instance, my surgery was 1/29/2021. I am on 2 weeks liquids to include Protein shakes, Protein Water, Water, Yogurt, Fat free/sugar free pudding and low fat ricotta. then i go to 1 to 6 months of soft foods, to include ground meat, deli slices, non-fat cheeses, etc then on to solids again. My main thing is pizza. I just want to know realistically when I will be able to eat it again. I don't want any lectures on how i shouldn't. I'm only wanting one slice vs the 4 or 5 I used to eat. So spare me the anger.
  22. Went good. He took two huge needles full out of it, and then packed it full of gauze and taped it down shut. Said to leave it that way for 48 hours and then check and see if it blows back up. Thanks!
