7 mos post op, divorced and 90 lbs gone ( pics)
You are hot! You did the right thing re the divorce. It feels good to me to not have someone treating me badly in my home too! I can only wish for the success you've had.

Fiber
One excellent one that cured me of chronic diarrhea once is Prescript Assist, Amazon carries it. It is soil based and it gets where it's supposed to in the intestines. Definitely take magnesium before bed too.

Sex help!
Our nut has told us that fat cells contain a lot of estrogen. I believe lol, that you have lost a lot of fat cells! Maybe your hormones aren't keeping up. I'm sure they will balance back in time, unless you are premenopausal, and either way, those suggested lubes will help you for now.

7 days post op - full?
I'm 5 days out and yesterday I really didn't improve much on getting my fluids or protein in. So I am really weak today. I am intellectually interpreting the weakness as "hunger" meaning my body needs more, especially protein. I don't feel hunger like I used to either. and when I drink either protein or water, it is those kinds of gas / fullness sensations in my stomach that has me waiting longer between sips or giving up and waiting 30 mins. It's new and weird but we will get through this. our baby stomachs are recovering and new so we don't need to feel "full," we just need to baby them, is how I'm thinking about it. Today my goal is to get at least half maybe 3/4 of the required protein. That would be huge.

1week post op and hungry
I am 5 days out but not actually hungry. I'm having a hard time getting the water and the protein in. My goal today is to get more protein in so I'm not so weak. I think my BODY is hungry but I'm not feeling it as hunger, I'm just sensing a weakness. My nut allows Greek yogurt and veg juice too now, maybe yours does too, just for a variety for my hungry co-sleevers? I bought them but haven't touched them yet.

July Sleevers!!!
I was sleeved two days ago. Recovering in hotel room. Not much pain, didn't need pain or nausea Med today. Trying to walk a lot. Trying to drink enough, only got 16 ounces yesterday, trying to get more in today. Made a watery protein drink and slowly sipping from it too, it's hard. But all things considered, I am doing well. We fly home tomorrow.

Fertility after VSG
The form I signed before getting sleeved yesterday had on it to be aware that fertility can be very high after sleeving. And the nurse said she had 4 patients recently who got pregnant without trying.

Intermittent Fasting
Easiest intermittent fasting is after dinner, no food until late morning. Not for everyday but a couple times a week. My only experience with IF is before being sleeved. Was just sleeved yesterday. I won't be doing any IF for along time, until I get enough protein and fluids.

conspation
Magnesium should help. Capsules not tablets. Or liquid like nature calm powder - mix and wait til it's not so fizzy, we aren't supposed to drink fizzy stuff

Sleeved yesterday, so hard to drink, hope it gets easier
Thank you guys. So glad I will get a vitamin IV today to help. I'm just holding my water bottle now trying to take baby sips every few seconds.

Sleeved yesterday, so hard to drink, hope it gets easier
I am drinking baby sips of water. It took me from when I got home from surgery after 4 hours, to bedtime - at home for about 5 hours, I'd only drank like 5 oz. I attempted an ounce of broth so I could take the pain pill, but I only took in 1/4 of that ounce of bone broth. I'm now in the middle of the night up and trying to drink, throat so dry. today I go back to clinic for the vitamin IV thank goodness. I'm worried about dehydration. what happened to the thread of July sleevers? I want to see how my fellows are doing.

3 more sleeps until surgery and nervous!!!
Today I am three sleeps out, too. Nervous too and getting ready to fly to surgery city tomorrow early. I have a 5 year old and she will be with me and my adult son on the surgery trip. tonight I finally did my "before" photos and measurements. Sobering. But hey, it will be amazing in a few months to have them. Good luck to all my fellow sleevers this week.

Cash Pay Timeline
I decided in early June to do this and I'm traveling to Las Vegas to be sleeved on Wednesday. July 19. It has been busy, getting all the prep work, so I think a month out is doable but not two weeks, that would be intense.

Scope
Propofol is great! When they woke me up after the endoscopy I was in some weird dream of walking through an empty art gallery with sawdust on the floors.

Pre-op diet starts today would love advice
My doctor has me on 2 protein drinks and a dinner of a portion of protein (meat or fish) with veggies. It is like starving for the 5 hours of afternoon. The first two days were the worst though. It's still horrible but the liver thing: I want to shrink mine well. So I am sticking like glue to this diet. i asked the doctor what is the main thing to avoid to shrink the liver. It's carbs, not fat. To the OP, make sure you avoid all unnecessary carbs. Your little meals should be protein and veg. Most proteins have some fats in it, don't worry. Plus you can have some olive oil on your veggies. I know the summer fruit is out and I love fruit but I am not touching it. We can do this!

Pre Op meal replacement shakes / drinks
I hate sweet drinks and flavored drinks so I am using a grassfed whey protein and I added fiber to it (both chia seeds and inulin are carb free since the fiber = their carbs). Doc totally approved. This way I will stay regular and my gut bugs will have some food even if I personally am STARVING! Two drinks a day and one small dinner. I do a brunch/lunch with one drink and save the other for evening.

Telling My Fiance about WLS decision
You've already got some awesome advice. There is no way you can keep it from your fiancé. Just know that that is out of the question. Ask for his understanding, and he will give it, or maybe he isn't the right one to marry. Someone else already said to give him some time to adjust to it, and also give him a fair chance to argue against it (because "you don't need it" etc). But when he insists you don't "need" it, tell him you have already decided on this tool for your future health. And you need him to come around to being supportive. Worst case scenario: he isn't supportive. And you can then know you dodged a bullet not being trapped in a bad marriage with someone who won't let you live life reasonably the way you NEED to. Honest, as heartbreaking as that sounds. You'd be better off without someone who fought against you doing this or wasn't supportive. But I bet he will be supportive. Let him get used to the idea. And yes, he should keep secrets for you from others you don't wish to tell.

July Schedule
I'm on the 19th too. good luck to all!

July 17th
I'm sorry to repost your adorable photo, it just came up. I'm the 19th so I'm right there with you! I am finding that this starvation diet (for me) has caused about a lb loss a day. Not worth it, it isn't pleasant to be starving for 5 hours all afternoon. But as long as it shrinks my liver for a successful surgery, I'm all for this pre op diet. It is difficult to feed my big family and not eat or taste, but I'm doing it. Tonight they enjoyed corn on the cob steamed and brushed with butter. But you know what? Weight loss and health is going to feel much better than corn tastes!

No Special Pre-Op Diet?
I ate low carb before as well. Why do I have to do this starvation diet? I thought it was to help the liver. I HATE starving between shakes and my one little meal.

How do I stop cravings ?
Forgive me for even giving advice because I have not had surgery yet (July 19) but I did find a way to avoid or change my cravings for carbs or sweets. Long term: learn what the good gut bugs in you want to eat. Add more probiotic FOODS to your diet like fermented veggies, kefir, etc. And feed the good bacteria what they like to eat which is natural fibers. Roasted root veggies, seeds, all kinds of resistant starches. That is long term. For immediate help with a sugar craving, what works for me is cooked greens. With garlic and sea salt. I don't know why greens works but it does for me. Hope I helped.
