I just did clear liquids from noon day before, no other special diet. You are trusting your doctor to cut you open, if you can't trust his diet recommendations perhaps you should rethink the cutting

So I spoke to my surgeon last week and he told me to just continue on my low carb, high protein diet leading up to my sleeve surgery this Tuesday, July 11th. The Hospital told me to not eat anything after midnight the day of surgery but that's it. I'm kind of shocked because everyone seems to be on a special pre-op diet prior to surgery. I have lost nearly 80 pounds in 6 months since I started the process so my thought was perhaps this is the reason why he's not altering my diet prior to surgery. Also my surgeon did confirm I'll have a catheter for the surgery. As a male, I'm so not looking forward to that!
Anyways anyone out there not been asked to be on special pre-op diet? If so, any recommendations what I should eat the day before surgery? Should I just try to keep it to liquids only?
