BMC blogger got a reaction from Creekimp13 in Not losing as much as others
It really depends on where you're starting from. I'm in the same boat, I think 6-7 pound loss at my last appointment ( which was my 3 month post op). Protein is important so if you're not getting that and plenty of Water that could be contributing. I find this chart helpful.

BMC blogger got a reaction from SleeveinIL in How much is everyone eating now?
I'm three months out and just got to 3-4oz but I think it might be different because I'm on solids. This is what my doc sent to me about the progression:
Your portions should advance as follows:
" From 2-3 months: your portions should be 2 oz total per meal or ¼ cup total per meal
" From 3-6 months: your portions should be 3 oz total per meal 1/3 cup total per meal
" From 6-9 months: your portions should be 4 oz total per meal or ½ cup total per meal
" From 9-12 months: your portions should be 6 oz total per meal or ¾ cup total per meal
" From 12+ months: your portions should stay at 8 oz total per meal or 1 cup total per meal

BMC blogger got a reaction from NatureLover888 in EIGHT DAYS after after Lap RNY...surgical glue falling off?!!!!
Mine is still on after 17 days, I’ve been terrified to take it off for fear of take a incision scab along with it. My surgeon said in my post op on Friday that it’s time to scrub it off and probably could have been removed much earlier.

BMC blogger got a reaction from wesja in Have to make a decision about RNY right NOW, panicking!
I’m in a slightly similar boat. Same weight and have BCBS. I was actually thinking about switching to UHC because my pcp is going out of network with BCBS, I was told the same and that I should leave it alone especially given the different requirements. I just asked the same question about backing on a different group and folks came back with helpful feedback:
1. Everyone thinks about backing out at some point. It’s surgery at the end of the day!
2. A lot of folks starts to think “I can do this on my own” but how many times have you dieted only to regain.
3. Will this help resolve current or future commodities? Natural weigh loss will obviously help but the amount of loss needed to make a dent on GERD, diabetes, etc might be more than you can accomplish alone.
I’m not saying one way or another, but I would really reflect on all the pieces. Personally I’m moving forward, I just feel that I would regret not taking the steps.

Thanks for all of your thoughts and advice everyone. I am going to move forward with surgery. My official date now is 12/20/2017, and I feel relieved now that I have committed to a decision. Starting to get excited too!

I am on my fifth day. Day one I was fine. Day 2 was the worst of it. So far I haven't had any problems besides accidentally swallowed some sugar free gum. It's been mind over matter, good Luck!

BMC blogger got a reaction from Apple203 in Bullied into the Sleeve
So interesting. I have GERD and a hiatal hernia too. My surgeon is planning to repair but still said RNY was the better approach. I was kind of wishing he’d tell me I was a candidate for sleeve. -

BMC blogger got a reaction from watsongirl17 in Deductible
Agreed - the deductibles are based on service date, so if surgery doesn’t happy til after December and your plans run Jan-Dec you will have to cover it again.
Also be sure that you know the difference between a deductible and your “out of pocket max”. Just because you met the deductible doesn’t mean you won’t end up paying toward surgery. Most insurance companies won’t cover 100% until you’ve reach the out of pocket max.
For myself, my deductible is 400 per year. My out of pocket max is 2000 (in network). Surgery is covered 80% (I think) so I’d be required to pay 20% or up to 2,000 (the out of pocket max) whichever gets hit first.
