  1. Hello all I'm new to the group but not new to being overweight. I checked my BMI the other day and it was 50. Yeah, really high. I had a girl on the phone from a Lap Band clinic and she was sure I was doing it wrong. Well I've very short and pretty fat  Ok besides that, is there anyone here from Canada as well? I hear great things on here about insurance covering costs of the band and I was just wondering if anyone from Canada has tried getting it covered by their provincial health care or other insurance? Maybe out of pocket if so, how much?
