Only 4 Days Post Op & 1 Goal Already Met
Congrats! I know that is a wonderful feeling. I can't wait to leave my blood pressure meds behind. My bottom number likes to stay very high and it has been very hard to control. I know from experience it's best controlled with weight loss so I'm excited for surgery.

Flying Solo and kind of scared
Maybe you can find a buddy on here or at a meetup. There's also Instagram. My mom and niece will be supporting me but sometimes we need someone going through the same thing.

Anyone a student and having/had surgery?
I'm also working on my masters. I took this semester off to get my health in order. However, most have said they are back to work within a short amount of time so you may be fine.

For insurance purposes
I would also suggest clothing, large boots or weighing after you've eaten lunch.

What initially held you back (other than insurance/cost)
I felt this same way. I felt if I couldn't lose it without surgery I was a failure. Then I realized I could either use the surgery as a tool and finally succeed or I could keep going around in circles. Success wasn't in how I loss, it was if I loss the weight. I also had to get over wondering what people would say. This is my body. No one else has to live in it so the choice is mine.

Surgery Cancelled Due to High Blood Pressure
I know it's disappointing. You may want to ask for a different medicine. I took Amlodipine and it did nothing for me. It's just not strong enough to bring down really high blood pressure. If it hadn't come down to a lower level in a week, you should have been switched.

Congrats! I hope you have a wonderful recovery and journey. I know you said something about going to A Slimmer Me. Did you end up going there or somewhere else?
