If there is one piece of advice I can give every recent post op person, it's do not weigh yourself for the first month. There is just too much going on, particularly water weight fluctuations. Now is the time to let yourself heal and focus on your nutrition goals. With as little as we consume, there is no way you will not lose, but there is just too much going on to get an accurate reading. You put lots of sage advice in your own post, so make sure you are truly following what you are writing, especially the self-love and care aspects. You are doing great!

Backhanded compliments, online? Never! #sarcasm Just remember that your journey is yours and it will play out like it is supposed to for you. It seems like you have a good head about the situation and you are aware of pre-op triggers rearing their ugly head post-op. The 3 week stall is the least troublesome of all the stalls. The only kicker is that it is the first. Get through this one, continue to be successful and show the naysayers that you've got this!

I just heard a message tonight at church that might encourage you. Don't worry, it's not preachy or anything and certainly not religious. I don't do religion. Anyway, despite what this person says, you'll need to do your best to let it roll off your shoulders. So, part of the message was "do everything for an audience of One" (for me, that means do everything I do for God alone). But let's apply this to your situation, heck...everyone's situations with the naysayers or super opinionated (there way or the highway type)....do everything you need to do for your weight loss/surgery for the audience of one...yourself! Do you know the truth of how things are going with YOUR journey? YES Are they working for you? YES Are you lighter, happier, healthier? YES. The questions can go on. What I'm saying is, despite how anyone else may come across based on their own journeys, failures and successes, you will need to be mindful that your journey is the only one that matters. So, just let it roll....easier said than done, I know it! But you have the choice to let it not bother you. You have the choice to know these are lies for you and not believe them. Which I don't think you do. You have the choice to forget and forgive and move on. Will you choose to do that? Blessings to you hon. I enjoy your statuses, posts, concerns, and opinions here. Stay on board for the rest of us, huh?

Hang in there! The further out you go and as you have more options for food it gets so much better. Everyone has their own journey, and even though comparing is understandable since so many people post their food/weight/workouts, you gotta focus on how much better you are doing since preop. That is the comparison that matters IMO.

I'm glad you enjoyed the beans! I absolutely love them and they are sort of a miracle food... protein and fiber plus help protect us against disease and cancer. Don't worry about posting something "negative," it helps us preoppers a lot to know the struggles! I saw a bariatric cookbook on Amazon I am thinking about getting, "Fresh Start Bariatric Cookbook: Healthy Recipes to Enjoy Favorite Foods After Weight-Loss Surgery" by Sarah Kent MS RDN CD. Maybe checking out some bariatric websites or cookbooks might inspire you to make something tasty other than just low-fat dairy! Good luck and thanks for posting

Thank you. I am trying to focus on the fact that my weight is down for the month. At least it's 4lbs I'm not carrying anymore.
It's so rough dealing with a stall, but you will get through it. Hang in there!!!

This is great, very motivational. I am at a stall right now and have been beating myself up.....I hate it. But maybe I broke it *fingers crossed*. Keep up the great work, seems like you are getting to know yourself and your limits better every single day.

Thanks so much. No more back pain. As for the boobie surgery I still have some swelling under the armpits but the pain isn't severe enough that I need to take anything for it. I am icing the girls twice a day and the swelling is less.

I have no experience with the Day surgery, but it sounds like you are doing well. Just keep working on your protein. You will get there soon enough.

The ricotta bake is very good. I still eat it now, but I add in ground turkey and use thinly sliced zucchini for the noodles.

You're very welcome hon. I'm doing well. Down 24lbs since surgery on 5/15 and doing great. As long as it keeps going down, then that's all that matters for me at this point.

    Yay...14!? Wow...that's great!
As for the removing of self at restaurants, etc...I have not sat outside, but I go in with the family. It was hard the first couple of times, this last time was way easier. I wasn't hungry and sure, the pizza looked great and smelled great, but I was in control. Until you feel ready to do so, I'd encourage you to go with your family and sit with them, while they eat. You'll have fellowship with them despite not eating the food or even the same food (cause there are things we can get) as them. I'm glad you enjoyed the cooking...I do too, especially now that I eat most of what I do cook anyway (more plant based dishes). You'll get there.
Sorry about your loss but happy about the new life too. May God bless you hon, your journey, and everything in between!!!
