  4. I had to talk to my surgeon as my intern was emotionally blackmailing me. He, the surgeon put her in check. He also called the therapist and told her to move ahead... don't skip steps but be proactive for your care
  5. Relax and breathe... you got this! [emoji120][emoji120][emoji120]s... mine is 25 May
  6. Where are you? I'm rural PA, Coudersport. I have a 3 hour drive to the hospital doing my surgery. There's nothing local here either! I'm due the 25 May for my surgery. I do total liquids, protein shakes and water since February due to swallowing issues
  7. I'm the 25 May but in PA
  8. Mine is 25 May...[emoji120][emoji120][emoji120]s
  9. Everything happens for a reason... just relax, you're still alive which beats the alternative! Crazy and frustrating I bet, but not being around ends your journey before you get started... there's a bigger picture, you'll be in it! I'm thankful you're ok
  10. I think you're amazing to be trying to make this lifestyle change with no support but those who reach out here... you were led here! You need to realize this is your journey for you not for anyone else! Get moving as walking of exercising will clear cobwebs out... put sticky or post it notes everywhere to remind yourself of your goals and why you want this... only the Father of Lies will want you to feel lonely, not worth it! Your Heavenly Father wants you to be your best for you... one step at a time, one thought at a time... you are a choice person and as mom told me when I was younger- God don't make junk! Can't walk far, dance in a chair... you can do this! You're here for a reason... start a journal of negative thoughts and actions, when your notebook is full, burn it! Let it go, it's empowering! Silly but works...
  11. I start my journey 25 May. I'll listen and not judge. My whole life is a bump! I'd love to be your friend. email is memabock@msn.com or Facebook Susan Bockoven
  12. I'm in PA too, very rural but sorta north not quite central. I live in Coudersport, PA... I travel 2 1/2-3 hours to State College no Danville- Geisinger Medical Center for care... there's no local group by me either...
  13. You need to keep your electrolytes in balance and that's why Powerade or G2... you could freeze some in ice trays and ninja it for slushes to make sure you don't partake too fast
  14. GERD is more common than we think, what's not discussed is long term medicine for these issues causes a whole new set of problems, nodules that can turn from benign to cancerous quickly and silently... I'm such a case with Nexium since it came on the market... be cautious and aware not scared but informed
  15. I use an herbal tea called smooth move for help regulating bowels... gentle plus helps with liquids... has a licorice taste too it, not bad but it moves things along...lol I'd set your alarm on your phone to remind of fluids to help, till you get a routine going... that helped me!
  16. I'm 61 years young and I've raised 10 children with my hubby. We have 28 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. My RNY is not primarily about weight loss as I have precancerous nodules from Nexium and a hiatal hernia plus a ruptured diaphragm that needs fixing. I'm reading all of the info you all share and feel quite educated to help myself. I also see where this surgery is anything but a quick fix! I see some struggling with body issues and food addictions which are real! I've found in my life if I didn't like myself, it wouldn't matter what size I am. Big or small we must love ourselves! Yes, thinner people are taken more serious in workplaces as a whole... healthy needs to be the goal! I've had cancer 7xs and found out it can't own me unless I give my power for it to do so... we must be determined to be our best selves, adjusting the process along the way. None of us are perfect! None of us are junk either! Rediscovering who we really are will only make us better and stronger. These are feelings I want to share with you all as we are on this amazing journey called life and we each write our own story. God bless you all
  17. Trying not to harp on the number as you're probably losing inches and the scale will catch up. Keep moving and doing the right things. I'm 60 also
  18. I don't go anywhere without my cooler of 3 protein shakes and 3 bottles of water in ice... it's kept on my hump behind the drivers seat...
