  1. Looking fantastic StLouisGal!! Congrats!
  2. Major toothache here and I refuse to waste anymore money on root canals so I just need to get it pulled. Teeth are the next thing I'm fixing. Need to get some time to get in there though.
  3. Gibson googles gobbets. Got it, Gibson. Give us gobbets gleefully. Okay, pain meds are my muses. Or not.....
  4. My user name is the name I use for my character on several online games. Been using it for so long in and so many people know me only as Ezma that it's like my nickname.
  5. I hate "My bad" and "nipple". In fact for years I couldn't even say "nipple". Having a baby cured that.
  6. Would love to have this and look great in it. PINaR ERIS.com
  7. Well, bought myself a new pair of pants on clearance. Not sure if they fit yet but they will soon. And I bought a highlight kit for my hair. Woo hoo! Rewards rock! Thank you.
  8. I stand corrected. I was reading the post thru my own exerience and not paying attention to details. It does sound like the band is working for Becca not Becca doing all the work until the band gets to the right spot. I have been feeling full faster but really feel like I could eat much more if I wanted to because the band isn't doing that much. The main difference is I get full but I'm feel like I could eat again in an hour. I've only had one fill and it was tight for the first day and then nothing. I think my smaller appetite is more from the severe diets that I had pre and post op.
  9. Tara, You're much too good for that scale. You need to dump him and make room for someone much better....maybe that cute tape measure over there. ;p
  10. I know part of the reason we don't feel the restriction they are talking about is because we really aren't close to the sweet spot yet. And I totally agree that PB, slime, overly tight are not the way the band should be working. I asked my nurse why they didn't warn people about PB and slime and she said it's cause she's only had it happen to one person. Also told me not to look for bad things to happen - lol. Think we're on the right track just not at the destination yet. Also, loved your video blog and congrats on all of your hard work! It's really paying off.
  11. I honestly hadn't thought about rewarding myself and I think it's just what I need to keep myself motivated. In fact, that's probably why I'm missing foods so much now. In the past, unconsiously, I'd use food to Celebrate and reward myself. Now, I get the fun of coming up with my reward list and I already deserve one for 50#s. Woo hoo! hair color, here I come. Keep the ideas coming. I love the look of that Trikke thing. Think the heart rate monitor I was really wanting just might end up on my list.
  12. I have recently noticed that I have interest again in the things that used to make me happy. I want to decorate, meditate, shop, dance, even music has a whole new appeal. It's like a flashback to my early 20s and it feels great! It's like my mindset has shifted back to normal.
  13. Anyone else here from Banner Gateway Bariatric? I had Dr. Schuster but I know there's another doctor there, Podkomeny or something like that. Anyway, I'm trying to find the support group schedule and I've misplaced it. I can call the office on Monday but was just wondering if anyone knows when the next support group is being held. Thanks.
  14. You already took the first big step just by posting here. You'll get lots of encouragement from everyone here. Might want to call the surgeon's office and see if you need to attend another seminar if it's been a long time since you attended that one. Do you know what is causing you to hesitate? It took me a little while to make my decision but I'm oh sooooooo glad I did. I was pretty scared of the surgery since I'd had a bad one in the past. This one was a piece of cake. I'd do it again tomorrow if I had to. Keep in touch and let us know how it's going.
  15. I couldn't sleep on my side for about a week, I'm a left side sleeper. I did however specifically ask my surgeon if it could dislodge the port or cause me problems. He said no problem sleeping that way.
  16. Sorry you're having such a rough time. I do know what you're going thru though and maybe I can give some help. 4 days after my surgery I had to rush my husband to the emergency room with a brain tumor. They put him in ICU and operated 3 days later. Running back and forth to a hospital that's about 20 miles away was a pain. The best thing I did was pull out a tote bag so I remembered to take my shakes. I'd just make up some ziploc sandwich bags with enough for a shake in it. I'd get a carton of skim milk from the nurses or cafeteria to mix it. Found that SF pudding was the easiest food to transport. Also, most hospital cafeterias have low fat yogurt and soups. I carried a little 2 oz scoop from my protein shakes to measure food. Hope that helps some. Hope your mom is feeling better soon.
  17. Had the same symptoms when I was on the liquid diet from the ketosis. Very similar to migraines in pain but they passed in about 2 days along with the rest of the symptoms. Only thing that lasted was the dragon breath. :huh2:
  18. You look absolutely wonderful. Congrats on all of your hard work!
  19. My next fill is on 5-13-08 but he said I could come in two weeks earlier if I really wanted a fill sooner. I don't know how much he filled me. He said he doesn't tell cause people tend to get obsessive about their fills. Think I could have pushed him but it's really not a big deal to me as long as it works. How are things going for you?
  20. Beautifully and succinctly put! I'm doing fairly well but I have days I slip. Trying not to beat myself up but instead, to just get back to the business of the band.
  21. Your post sounds so much like one I posted last week that I even thought it was mine at first. I had my first fill last Tuesday and was pretty concerned. Turns out it was a piece of cake. Very, very tiny stick from the needle they used to numb me and then just weird feelings. When he inserted into the port the first time it startled me cause I could feel it pop thru the rubber - didn't hurt just felt freaky. Afterwards I was put on full liquids for 24 to 48 hours. I started pureed the next day and worked up to whole foods by dinner. I wanted to take it real slow cause I had felt very tight right after the fill and kinda nauseous. I think that was just nerves though. I didn't think he would do a fill since I was losing weight well and felt full most of the time but he did fill it and he was right to do it. Good luck and try not to worry. You'll be laughing about it in a couple hours.
  22. AP Large here - it's the only type of band my surgeon uses now.
  23. Think things are starting to settle down a bit for me now. I do get very hungry about an hour before meal time. My doctor did want me to do 4 small meals instead of 3 but I haven't found a way to work in 4 yet. Cantweight2go - hope things are getting better for you too. When is your next fill scheduled for? Susan4794 - thanks for the encouragement to hang in there, think I'm gonna make it now
  24. 59 pounds since the very first visit with the surgeon. 41 since my 2 week pre-op diet. Woo hoo!
  25. Sitting here having some tomato basil chicken and it feels so great to actually cut it and chew it. One thing I don't fully understand though and could use some help if there is any. I had my first fill yesterday. At first I was really tight but after about 4 hours I could get some yogurt down. Now today I'm famished. I started back on pureed foods this morning and just ate my first real food for dinner. Why would I be more hungry now that I've had a fill than I was the day before the fill?
