  1. Love em too. To me they are a longer than comma pause. Kinda like joke punchline pause. And I really love em at the end of a partial thought. Can't think of an example now just know it looks like this. So....... Anyway.......

Come on down. Plenty of room here. You can even pass me and I'll try not to be too jealous. :tongue2: Though I intend to keep on going if my body will just let go of the dang fat. Sheesh.

Lookin' great! You really can see the difference. Love your outfit too.
  4. Thank you Tskelli. You helped me to focus on some NSVs instead of the 2 pounds I gained. Pretty sure it's water since I made really salty carnitas and drank a ton last night. Anyway, I too have been heartburn free since my surgery. Really nice to live without that. And I can no longer use my stomach to steer while I open a straw or whatever. It just won't reach the steering wheel no matter how hard I push it out. Yay!

I'm closer to you Lil. Which I think is pretty darn good and I'm happy with what I've lost. It's just never fast enough or enough weight off. LOL I don't know my surgery weight for sure, I either lost 16 or 18 pounds on the two week pre-op diet. So I'm down 42 or 44 pounds since surgery. Fill for me, I hope, on Tuesday. And it can't come soon enough. I'm feeling some restriction but I can still get an Advil Liquicap down. So.....fill me! Fill me! (Hehe - I feel like Audrey II)
  6. LMAO - Yeppers, dry like an oven.
  7. Think you're safe 'cause so far it's just been me. It's probably because it's 100+ degrees here. And my body is getting used to it for the summer.
  8. Wow! Sounds like you've really been through the ringer with the band. I'm sending you all kinds of good healing thoughts and hope things work out for you soon. I do agree it was a good thing to post in case anyone else runs into this kind of problem.
  9. I went out and bought the Hungry Girl Cookbook today too. I love the website and with your glowing endorsement of the book, it was a must have. And what did I spy on the end cap at Target? Hungry Girl!

Wow! You're doing fantastic. Good to have you back with us. 60 pounds since surgery. And you had surgery the day after I did. I had the same plateau issue you did and I'm getting my third fill on Tuesday. So I'm crossing my fingers that I'll catch up to you soon.
  11. Wonderful pieces Ready! Thank you so much for sharing them.
  12. Hehe- Lady Ezma. Was funny to hear you say that hear. Ezma is the name of my character on my online games. One of them is based on Camelot so I was called Lady Ezma a lot there. :biggrin2:
  13. I need some accountability on this so I thought maybe we could have a thread for mini goals. I know Friday is a weird day to start a weekly goal but since mine is weight related and I weigh on Friday.....you get the picture. Please feel free to add any short term goals you have to this. Let's see what kind of fun we can have. It doesn't have to be weight related though I think many of ours will be. It could be excercise, removing a food from your diet, eating healthier, getting off a pill, fitting into a new piece of clothing. Come on, let's see what we can do! Mine is to lose 4 pounds between today and my doctor's appointment on Tuesday morning.
  14. Well, I'm really torn here. It looks like that worked for me. I'm down three pounds from the plateau weight. I'm very happy that it worked but also ticked that I seem to require much, much fewer calories to lose weight. Oh well, who needs food. I'll eat when I'm thin. At least I found a way to break the plateau.
  15. How's everyone doing so far this week? I'm about half way there and not sure I'll make my goal but I should come close to it. I switched from walking to cardio and strength/flexibility training so even though I'm burning about 3 times as many calories, my time has cut in half. Oh, and did I tell you? My muscles are killing me! Think that's a good thing though since I forgot I had most of those muscles.
  16. I didn't make it on liquids but I did reduce the calories by about 25% and upped the exercise almost double. It seemed to help. I was going to wait until tomorrow to make sure but this morning I was down 1.5 pounds from the dreaded plateau weight. With any luck, I'll drop into the 70s tomorrow. Cross your fingers everyone. I'm definately open to the liquid thing another time. One thing that happened over the last 2 days was my band seemed to tighten up. Had that stuck feeling on some moist chicken tonight. Possibly I shrunk my pouch down? No idea really. Lil- You could have something with that theory. I'm very near the weight I was at for quite a while before my hysterectomy. About 4 pounds from it now. And I do think I was at that weight for several years. Sad part is the clothes that fit then, don't fit now. :wink2:
  17. Yay!!!! I'm happy for you. I noticed a big difference on my second one. I get my third, if I'm lucky, next week. What size band do you have Ready? Can you tell a difference yet?
  18. I love the Hungry Girl. I had her website on that list of sites I sent. Lots and lots and lots of great info there - www.hungry-girl.com. Now I'm craving a margarita and just might have one this weekend. Thanks.
  19. I hear ya. It's so hard to remember what it was like before my hysterectomy. I don't miss it at all. I did gain a lot of weight after it and I'm almost back to the weight I was at when I had it. Another weird thing has been happening to me. Wonder if anyone else here has any ideas on it. Lately I've been having a lot of hot flashes. Now this could be due to the temperature rising above 100 degrees. But I also thought it might be due to a change in my metabolism or even menopause type hot flashes since I've lost fat that could have been producing the hormones that stave off the hot flashes. What do you guys think? Anyone else have any new hot flash incidents?
  20. Whataburgers here in Arizona too. :cursing:
  21. Yeah, I tried upping the calories a bit a couple weeks ago and I thought it worked, then I had a hard time stopping and gained 3 pounds back. Hoping a day like this and it will snap it back to losing again. So far so good.
  22. So I'm really, really fed up with this whole plateau/fighting up and down with 2 pounds thing so I decided to teach my body a lesson today. I've heard about the whole metabolism/body thinking it's starving thing and I decided to show it what starving is all about. I'm going to drastically reduce my calories today and basically do the liquid thing. Plus I'm going to excercise my butt off today. Keep good thoughts for me so I can make it. Me to my body: So, you think you're starving do you? I'll show you starving! Heh! My body: Okay, okay! I give! Here's those 3 pounds. And over the next week I promise to give you 6 more if you just promise to go back to what you were feeding me. Yep, I know I need to be locked up in a nice padded room somewhere.:cursing:
  23. OMG! You had a horrible week there. Glad to hear you're home now. Feeling any better yet? Bet you're glad it wasn't the band after all. Hope they get your fill back in soon so you don't have to fight that too. Take care of yourself. You deserve some rest.
  24. Ready, you look great! You look so happy and vivacious. And I can definately see the lost weight in your face. And a PhD in Biochemistry! Damn she's a smart one. Congrats to you both.
  25. Really looking great there. Dang it! I want progress pictures that look like that.
