Congrats on your weight loss. I was sleeved may 5 and have lost 21 lbs. my nutritionist gave me guidelines of three meals a day. 1 ounce protein and one ounce fruit, 1 ounce protein and one ounce veggie, one ounce protein and one ounce starch. I can eat shredded chicken or tuna or ground beef. All
Other meats I have to put in a blender. These are in addition to the 75-90 grams of protein from drinks.

I told my 5 year old daughter (5 and a half more precisely) that I was getting my stomach cut out because daddy's too fat caused by eating too much sugary garbage food and drinking too many sodas. She's been tracking the wounds on my abdominal region as well since surgery (I prefer walking around the house shirtless unless we have company), and I've answered all questions she has as best I can.
There's a couple factors for this.. 1) I'm shamelessly direct with people, 2) I think it's counterproductive to removing the stigma by being secretive and/or shameful about it, 3) I don't beat around the bush when it comes to informing my daughter -- I want all my children to know everything, and 3) She needs to understand the consequences of decisions, and not make the dumb mistakes daddy did. So rather than just keep her away from sugary junk (not entirely, just very limited) with no explanation, which is more likely to lead to a rebellious attitude about it, it's simply more in line with my personality and what I think raising a child smartly should be like.
Because of the lifestyle changes I've made with great results, my wife has begun changing things too (after months of me nagging her about soda and wanting her to reduce her carb intake dramatically) and my daughter is engaged in understanding why we do the things we do. It's entirely possible she talks to people at school and student care (i.e. after-school care) about it, but most of them already know my circumstances anyways, and I really don't care what others think, or what they approve or disapprove of. If they have an issue with the choices I make they can confront me, otherwise, couldn't give a toss what others think.

Today I am 2 months + 1day past my operation. I am down 55 lbs. But this journey is more than just the weight loss. This journey is about rediscovering myself. For the last 9yrs I have hid myself in the roles of being a wife and a mother. The heavier I got, the less I did. I became a bystander to my life. And worse, to my kids life.
This surgery has given me my courage back. My confidence. My sense of a adventure.
The day I had my surgery I started walking and have not stopped. Today I walked my 1st 5k. And I signed up for 2 more this summer. I cannot believe I am a 5k'er.
I went in to this surgery thinking I would lose weight and get healthier. I never considered I would find myself along the way!

It feels so great doesn't it?

I used to be a business traveler and I had my own seat belt extended I purchased so I wouldn't have to be embarrassed and ask for one,

I took a flight last year and not only did the seat belt fit, I was able to pull it super tight, and I had room in my seat!

It's been quite some time since I was active on the boards. My new job has me working extra hours so there never seems to be enough time.
I am 7 months post op at 125lbs down. I am 259 (sw 385). Peter (my husband) is 3 months post op and 80lbs down. I am the lowest I have weighed in over a decade.
But that is not the record I am talking about... Today I walked 21665 steps or 9.88 miles. My fitbit recorded 120 min of activity. I've gone from an average of 2500 steps a day to an average of 10000.
Peter and I pick walking as an activity (like hiking along the local levy) rather than being lazy (like circling a store parking 3 times to find a closer spot to park).
I know this is quite self congratulatory but I am so happy with the changes in my life and excited to share them.

A long gulp of ice cold Water. That's what I miss the most. Yes I can sip water, which tastes nothing to me like it did before the surgery, but it's not the same. Feel like I can't quite get my thirst quenched. Anyone else miss this?

This was me on Tuesday night. I didn't go for six days and at 1 in the morning the Constipation kicked in. I didn't know what to do with myself. The day of surgery they started me on a stool softener, but damn, that was a rough couple hours until the diarrhea began to happen. Then I was on the toilet every half hour for 24 hours. The good news is that I blew through ten pounds but it was not fun. Does your doctor have you on a softener or milk of magnesia?
