  1. Thank you both for your response! My sister brought over a drink called Body Armor lite super drink. It has 20'calories and lots of electrolytes and it has coconut water in it. It's all natural with 200% of the b vitamins. It's really good! I sure don't want to go to the hospital! I will drink this along with water and hot tea in between time. I was super dizzy. Every time I would get out of bed my dog would go crazy until I got back in. I think my dog sensed that I wasn't feeling well! I think you are both absolutely right, the dreaded dehydration. Thanks again!!
  2. I'm just wondering if anyone developed extreme nausea two weeks into the liquid diet. I have felt so good up until today. Now I feel wiped out and so weak. I'm doing well getting in my fluids, but today, I'm not doing well at all. The protein shakes taste gross and I can't get any water down, I've tried the zofran, didn't help. I have some promethazine, I'm going to try that. No matter what I do my heart feels like it is pounding so fast. Thanks for listening. I'm not a complainer at all, I was just wondering if anyone else experienced these symptoms. November sleevers here

I had my sleeve surgery on Nov. 10th at Duke in NC. The surgery went well, I stayed in recovery for several hours after my surgery to watch my b/p. It tends to be low. I was wheeled into my room at about 5pm. This hospital does not use pain medicine, they have a cocktail of to toradol IV, Tylenol and Neurotin along with zofran for nausea. I didn't need any pain medicine until the next Saturday night. I had no nausea, no vomiting and very little pain, discomfort yes, but not pain per se. I was discharged that Sunday and asked for pain medicine for the ride home. My husband drives like a maniac. He did so well that day! I've been doing my protein shakes, water, decaf coffee and chicken broth this week. I did end up with cellulitis around one of my surgical sites. I have six incisions. I'm really looking forward to being able to eat mushy food!! I hope everyone is doing well. I did gain 12 lbs after surgery and consulted the pros on this board and my Dr. The pros on this board were exactly right. IV fluids and water weight. I'm 60 years old. Hang in there November people!! It was way better than I expected!!
  4. Thank you both for responding to me! I do feel quite swollen they kept me three solid days because I have an ileostomy and had my colon removed a few years ago, do i do have a tendency to stay slightly dehydrated. The IV fluids caused my hands to swell and my ankles. I need to try to drink more water. Thanks again!

    any November 2017 sleevers?

I'm thinking about going on a liquid diet for a few days. But I'm not sure. I don't want to go against the program, but what if I gain weight by the time it's the morning of surgery? I'm not a spring chicken anymore, do I don't lose like I used to.

    any November 2017 sleevers?

Hello there! I'm doing two weeks pre-op, I started three days ago. I'm wondering if any of you that are on your pre-op diet can eat food five times a day?' I thought I would be on a liquid diet. This makes me a little nervous.

Starting 2 week pre op diet

I know exactly how you feel! I was on the fence for a long time, thinking about not having the surgery. I would flip flop back and forth. I finally told myself that I have been overweight for 15 years and I really need this tool to get myself together. I'm off the fence and ready to get this done and reap the benefits! I start my liquid diet tomorrow too. But it's a modified liquid diet, every Dr had their own pre-op diet. Surgery is the tenth of November. You will be all done and home. I'll check on you!! Good luck, keep positive thoughts!!

    Getting nervous

Hi there, my surgery is two weeks away and I don't do well with anesthesia either. I was told at my visit with anesthesia that they will give me something for nerves before I even go into the operating suite. That calmed me down. Maybe you could ask if they can give you something too. Oh, and they give either zofran or promethazine before you go in for surgery too. You will do great!! I'm happy for you!!
