We have tried some advertising but nothing has really worked so far. Between the site and advertising I am already out several thousand dollars. I'm committed though to building the site and keeping it free and am just eating the costs because I believe there is a need for the site and would really like to see it be successful.
I was really hoping for a lot of word of mouth advertising. I know many of us are in multiple groups and have lots of ways of sharing. If you have any ideas for advertising I would love to hear them!

Hi All! Alex has graciously allowed me to post once about my dating site for weight loss surgery patients. I designed this site after input from several friends who have had weight loss surgery, myself included. Many of us are new to dating and just discovering ourselves and dating in general is hard enough, let alone after weight loss surgery. I thought it would be a great idea to bring men and women together who have both had some type of weight loss surgery. We all want to stay on track and we all fear regaining the weight we've worked so hard to lose. Finding someone with similar goals and interests would be great for long term success. www.loveafterwls.com was born!
loveafterwls.com is NOW totally FREE! If you were a previous paying member, please unsubscribe and rejoin as a FREE member.
Our site offers personal profiles with up to ten pictures, blogging, instant messaging, forums and more. Like all new dating sites, it will take awhile to grow our membership but come on in, fill out your profile, start a blog if you wish and help build this dating site into something great!
Please tell your friends, especially men. We currently have a lot more women on the site than men.
    Visit www.loveafterwls.com for more information!
    Thanks

Well I date a lot in spurts.
I think that men who comment on how much eat on a date are rude, not worth seeing again and also probably cheap, really not worth seeing again. I dated this guy that insisted I get a box, even though I didn't want one and wasn't going to eat the food later. If I get a box for my food I always toss it in the dumpster before I walk in my Apt anyway.
I don't do first date coffee dates. It is a complete waste of my time. Guys that ask me on Coffee dates I just block. I like first dates to be fun activities, something creative. I feel like men that aren't willing to take the time to try and impress me aren't worth my time.
I'm 2 years out and I can eat enough no on ever comments on me not eating a lot. I think also because of the kind of men I date, they are used to women not eating a lot (most of them have thin ex-wives).
Even at one year I could eat enough or make it look like I was eating enough that no one cared.
If it is a nice restaurant (not a corporate chain) , the courses arrived spaced out enough that you have time to eat properly like a civilized human.
Order seafood, it is moist and almost a slider, you can eat most of it. dinner salad, they only give you 2 to 3 ounces of Protein and salad greens are basically a slider, easy to eat it all. Steak can be tricky, but if you order filet mignon, with veggies you can eat all or most of a 4 ounce filet and have a few dainty bites of veggies.

Are these first dates? When I was dating I NEVER did a meal for a first date. Dating 101... no more than a coffee date for a first date. If you aren't clicking the last thing you want to do is be stuck for an hour or more with the person. Activity dates are good as well, but I'd reserve for second dates. Don't think my husband and I went out for a meal until date 3 or 4 and he was too into me and the conversation to notice what I was or wasn't eating

I'm not hearing anything that is making me change my mind. R.E. Preeclampsia.. had it with my first pregnancy, when I became pregnant when I was 169lbs. I did make it full term, but induced when I started dropping Protein in my urine. Baby and Mom were fine.
My next 3 pregnancies all went fine with no complications, with starting weights at 180lbs, 225lbs, 245lbs. I gained 40lbs with each one, except #2 where I gained 65!
Do you see a trend? After each pregnancy, I did drop the pregnancy weight gain each time, but some of that weight always made its way back after weaning, in time for the next pregnancy.
I didn't develop gestational diabetes, but 10 years after the last pregnancy, I became prediabetic.
What the surgery does is clean up old metabolic issues and gives you a clean slate. (At least, that's the hope.. works for some, but it's not guaranteed). What you do with that clean slate is up to you.
After you get surgery, you really have to be on a "diet" the rest of your life. You can always gain weight back, the same as anyone. But, the surgery is a one-time opportunity.. and I'm SOOOOO glad my family was complete before considering going under the knife, so my clean slate can remain that way.
Maybe you can talk with your doc about how risky they believe a pregnancy will be (before or after surgery).. a lone voice on the internet shouldn't necessarily sway you one way or the other, but I urge you to get as much information from your own network as possible.
Many people here get the surgery so they CAN get pregnant. Without it, they are infertile. For those people, they only have one choice if they want to be parents, and I wholeheartedly support them. For you, it sounds like you have options. And if slow weight loss is discouraging enough to stop your diet attempts... it's a bit concerning to me, since postop it is nothing but dieting.
What I would love to see you do, is try one of the diets again (and I can give you one if you like), work on your mind game and nutritional status.. drop a few pounds, and when you're ready, get pregnant, have your baby, and after a couple years get the surgery. Sure, you'll be a few years older, but you'll use those years to learn more about the surgery and practice healthful eating, so when you do get the operation, you'll be completely ready.

I had mini gastric bypass on 12/12/16 and I have lost almost 60 since surgery. My surgery weight was 247 lbs. I have had no complications. I think mini gastric bypass will work well for you. Weigh your options, the pros and cons.
