alcn1derlnd got a reaction from shsa_rod in 3 months
Down at total of 85. Almost fifty since day of surgery. I'm amazed what a difference there is from this time last year. The black dress was exactly a year ago and the teal one is from the end of April.

alcn1derlnd got a reaction from teedsg in Any Postoperative with PCOS?
I'm three months post op today and have PCOS. My weightloss so far has exceeded my surgeons expectations. My endocrinologist was really happy with my progress so far too. She just checked my hormone levels and wants to compare them again in three months. So far I've been following the diet plan and just started exercising again a couple of weeks ago. Total lost is 83lbs, 60 since the preop liquid diet. I'm hopeful my hormone levels will be in normal ranges by this time next year so I can go off my two meds that help control them.

alcn1derlnd got a reaction from Catrelle31 in Working out and weightloss
I need to eat 150-200 extra calories on days I swim. I generally swim laps for about an hour. If I don't eat those extra calories I gain a little weight. When I eat them I drop faster than not working out at all.

alcn1derlnd got a reaction from Youcangirl3 in 100 miles in 100 days fitness challenge
I was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing a fitness challenge to complete 100 miles in 100 days. I've done one in the past and it helps keep you accountable for exercising. The one that I did in the past used twenty minutes of any exercise equaled a mile or actual walking or running distance.
Though anyone interested could start on Monday Sept 11th which would go through to Dec 20th. Maybe post weekly totals and I will come up with a spreadsheet.

alcn1derlnd got a reaction from dvmp61 in I regret this surgery
The huge release of extra hormones don't help with our emotions. I'm two months out and know mine have to be extremely high thanks to my monthly visit turning into four. I use to work with IVF patients and can tell you that stress ( which your body is going through due to surgery and a major life change) plus too many hormones leads to depression, anxiety, hopelessness, and mood swings. Try going to your local bariatric support group meetings to talk out what you are going through or the psychiatrist that did your pre op evaluation . Hang in there. It should get better soon.

alcn1derlnd reacted to Cat DaCougar in PostOp Facial Skin Rashes & Hair Growth
I am almost 4 months post-op Gastric Sleeve and during last month I noticed a small amount of facial hair developing on the left side of my chin. This month, it is very obvious and the hairs are growing on top of what now appears to be a rash. The rash is red, itchy, it burns and is spreading to the right side of my chin. I use Nair with Almond Oil for facial hair and it will remove the hair but it grows back within the beginning of the next week. I remember using Biotin before my surgery and I did grow upper lip facial hair so I believe that the Biotin is causing this unwanted facial Hair growth and possibly the rash as well but I'm not sure. It's so irritating that I walk around scratching my chin more than my son's and my husband scratches their beards. I wonder if their are Bariatric Vitamins without Biotin and I would like to know if the Biotin is necessary to consume at all for Gastric surgery patients? Does anyone know what can be done or am I the only "bearded lady" here?🤔

Try taking it with milk or Protein Shake. Multivitamin can upset an empty stomach.
