Everyone has different guidelines. Two days post op was my birthday and I was still in hospital.. My dr said I should have a little 'tipple' to celebrate.. I just stuck to water but you'll hear a lot of varying answers. I'm 7 months post op and enjoy occasionally.- An English Sleever's Journey
Hi Richard... Not long now!! Very exciting for you... Are you on pre op diet at the moment or are you lucky to escape it?- High Protein Crab Cakes
What about ground almonds.. I use them on my scotch eggs!! Extra Protein too- An English Sleever's Journey

You're definitely an amazing example of how pushing yourself can achieve great things.. I have my 16kg Kettlebell workout to look forward to later.. My upper body and legs are sore from gym on Monday.. Hoping it will loosen up things a bit- cross fit total
Fantastic times and achievements.. Did you take supplements in the end or was that without? Well done!!- I broke through the 200lb-barrier!
Congrats Justin, I too have joined the higher 200lbs bracket recently.. It's an amazing feeling and definitely an amazing achievement. After the band I still can't believe life could be so great!! I wish I had the sleeve sooner!! No point living in the past so onwards and downwards.. Good Luck with the rest of your journey!! It's definitely cause for a celebration!! Well done!!- Is there anyone who DIDN'T lose their hair?
I haven't lost any of my hair. I think I mostly attribute this to the fact that when I was cleared to start purée and soft foods 2 weeks post op, I ate clean, wholesome food. I never ate fat free/low fat or sugar free. I would cook my own grass fed meat and have it with avocados or when I cooked eggs I made sure to use a bit of coconut oil or butter. When I puréed butternut squash, I roasted it in a tsp coconut oil first. In my first two weeks post op I couldn't tolerate a stitch of protein and all I had was very diluted lipton ice tea. That was all I couldn't tolerate. I only started biotin after 8 weeks post op. Everyone is so different but I have been lucky. I'm now 7 months post op and still not a stitch of hair loss. I have also highlighted my hair twice since surgery with no problem. I use loreal professional shampoo so nothing special in that either!! Don't sweat the small things and it will all turn out ok.- Depo shot
All contraception affects people in different ways. The pill is widely know for DVT risk etc which is why most dr's have their patients stop it prior to surgery. I'm 33 and wasn't required to stop my depo shot. I think there are side effects to every form of contraception and obviously people who are on one form will advocate for that. For me personally, I hate the pill, I didn't actually want periods, and I wanted no foreign object implanted in me.. Which left be the option of condoms or the shot. Condoms are just not reliable for me. I have happily been on the shot for 17 years. I have lost 111lbs in 7 months so it has not affected my weightloss, I don't worry about falling pregnant (which I absolutely don't want), I don't have to remember to take it everyday and I don't have anything implanted.. So for me its perfect. I said earlier that I was fat when I started the depo so how can I blame my weight gain on the shot? I just ate too much food. I take calcium supplements - well it's a small price to pay for my peace of mind! Each and every person will tell you why their contraception is the best choice. I think it's up to the individual to decide what fits well into their lifestyle. Good Luck in finding something that works well for you.- I'm a hard stick for drawing blood. Does this change?
So I'm a phlebotomist... Eat, sleep and dream veins... Nice big juicy veins... It is harder to find veins on larger people but not always actually.. Skinny people also have pesky veins too My hidden vein is so much juicer to feel since I've lost weight but its still hidden.. My other vein has always been prominent and is just much more prominent now. Butterfly needles get a flush back so you know when you're in the vein in tricky bleeders.. That's why if you're difficult to bleed those are choice... Enjoy the changes to come I can't stop prodding and poking my veins!!- An English Sleever's Journey
- cross fit total
Fiddleman, another awesome workout waiting for you this evening. I reckon no supplements, or caffeine.. Tonight do the workout as you would and then you can have a benchmark for the next time you do it. If you try the supplements today, you won't know your own potential and won't have a true measure on whether the supplements actually enhanced your performance!- Honest opinion please!
I'm also in the UK.. I use myprotein whey protein powder unflavoured £13.99 for a kg and add the PB2 powders to flavour.. Chocolate one is delicious but sometimes, rarely, makes me a little nauseous. The other that is good is cellucor.. I have the vanilla and cinnamon swirl which I use for baking. These are the only ones I could tolerate.. And I'm still not completely a fan of drinking the protein powder, so that's why I'm now eating it!!- The Joy! The Joy!
You make me laugh!! One step in the right direction I suppose!!- Before and after photos
Awesome job!!- Depo shot
I've been on the depo for 17 years. I was fat before I started it so can't blame it on My weight gain.. I just ate too much!! Don't have a period and I don't fancy any children, so for me it's the safest contraception. I'm yet to meet someone who has fallen pregnant on the depo. Don't have mood swings, tender breasts or anything else. I take extra calcium tablets.- An English Sleever's Journey

Oh yes, I've never rated lansoprazole, a few times I had my husbands before I got my prescription but they didn't seem as good as omeprazole. Unfortunately when I had my band removed I wanted to cry from the heartburn.. Absolutely anything I ate have me reflux.. Even tea sometimes. So I was put on 20mg omeprazole which helped straight away. Consultant doubled dose straight after surgery.. I suspect I will always be on these tabs!! But they keep the reflux at bay.. Not a nice thing to suffer with!! I'm ok today.. Thanks for asking.. Not much is new in my world.. Felt like a bowl of veggies tonight so that's all I had.. But it curbed the craving!! And I had some delicious meatballs at lunch, but I know you don't wanna hear about food.... So I had an awesome workout at the gym and then sat in the sauna sweating out all these toxins for half an hour.. I'm off to Turkey on Friday so I'm super excited.. I'll be baking my Peanut Butter Cookies on Thursday and will let you know how they turn out.. 2g of carb and no sugar gotta get into the 19st category, appointment at Kings on Friday (I'm 3lbs away) so I'm sure I will. Now I'm watching crappy TV.. Dreaming of sea and sun x - Alcohol?
