  1. My fiancé and I are doing the liquid diet together but he's not getting the sleeve. He's just trying to get healthy for our wedding. [emoji16]
  2. I started mine Monday and I'm suffering. [emoji30]
  3. Hey! Good luck! I'm the day after you and can't wait! I just want to get this over with.
  4. How do you get through 2 weeks of shakes? I'm on day 5 and I'm suffering. I want salt. And whenever I see food my stomach growls. How did you succeed? I don't know if I can do this!
  5. Hi everyone. I'm scheduled for my sleeve at the end of the month. I'm wondering how successful everyone was with the switch. I have to wait 2 months between having the band out and getting the sleeve and I'm so ready to just get it but I want to know what I'm in for. I've been told I'm on the smaller end of the spectrum (for the first time in my life) because I'm just around 200 lbs, but I do have other conditions that make me a candidate for the surgery. I'm looking to see how much everyone lost in the first 4 months if they started somewhat close to where I am. I'm getting married in October and stressed out about the dress situation. Any input or feedback would be so greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Amanda
  6. I'm a May 31st, but there aren't any other May sleevers around that date so I'm almost a June!
  7. I use dr. Angstadt. He's awesome.
  8. I use dr. Angstadt. He's awesome.
  9. My doctor told me after 1 week I could go back to work because I have a desk job. I have a second job working in a residential treatment center but I have to take an entire month off from that one as part of the job requires us to restrain children 8-21. I'd go directly to the doctor and ask him about lifting the babies though. That's a unique situation.
  10. I'm a May, but the 31st! It feels a lifetime away!
  11. Thank you to everyone who wrote a reply. My doctor said here's a risk associated with doing them simultaneously and he would prefer my stomach healed before doing the sleeve. I'm all scheduled and now it's just the waiting game. 2 weeks before I have to do a liquid diet and then he said by the wedding I should be down 50 lbs! Fingers crossed because I want to feel good on my special day!
  12. Oh that could be it. My band wasn't empty. I just had it out yesterday and now I wait til 5/31! The wait is gonna kill me! Good luck to you on your surgery!
  13. Seriously, Don't come here to laugh at people and be a wench because you had a bad experience. Your negativity probably aided in your issues. Let people live their lives without scrutiny.
  14. I don't think such a blanket statement is fair. This surgery has changed many lives for the better.
  15. My doctor is making me wait 2 months before going from the band to the sleeve and I wish he wouldn't. I don't want to wait that long! He said my stomach had to heal. How did your doctor say you didn't have to wait? You're lucky!
  16. Don't get the lapband. I've been throwing up for 2 years while still, somehow, gaining weight. It's so uncomfortable and embarrassing.
  17. Hello, This is my first post so I'm very new here. I'm having my lapband out this Wednesday and going for the sleeve 5/31/17. I was looking for some advice/information from people who have lived through the whole procedure already. I'm currently 205 and gaining no matter what I do. I'm so stressed out that I'll gain a lot of weight between 3/29 and 5/31 that it's all I can think about! I have PCOS and Insulin Resistance and also, I have my wedding this October. I know I'm smaller than most people who have gotten the sleeve but I've struggled my entire life and I'm ready to get this tool to help me finally succeed, as the band did nothing for me except make me throw up every day for the last 2 years. Does anyone suffer from the same things (PCOS & IR) as me? Have you found success? Any advice from anyone is much, much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Amanda
  18. I'd like to know this too! My wedding is October and we want to have a baby right after ??
  19. I had be lapband which worked a little but not really and upon visiting my gyno for a visit plus internal sono, the little but I did lose got rid of any sign of PCOS on my ovaries. I still struggle with other symptoms and am going for a sleeve revision on 5/31 so fingers crossed for more results!
  20. I'm in the same boat. Only my mom, fiancé, and best friend know and I don't want to tell anyone else because I don't want to hear their two-cents. Just tell them you're working out and eating better, and that won't be a lie!
  21. Get a new Endo. My Endo told me to eat less and workout more even though I was working out 2x a day. I was out in BC and metformin to help symptoms and the BC got rid of all the excess hair and he metformin curbed the appetite a little but not enough to really help-probably because I needed a higher dose. Hang in there, but definitely see a new Endo.
