Pre-op diet starts tomorrow ...it's getting real now!
Get the sodium free broth packets. They are a life saver. They breakup the protein shakes with flavor but don't make you gain/retain weight/water because here isn't any salt. They come in chicken and beef and they're in the soup isle. They're less than $2 per box but you do need 2 packets because of the lack of salt.

Post-Op Diets
Anyone not on liquids post op? I was on a 2 week pre-op liquid diet and day one at home I'm off liquids and in soft mushy foods from the food processor like fish, tuna, chicken and eggs. I see a lot of people on liquids or shakes for a week or so after and was just wondering if anyone was on the same diet as me and how successful you were. Thanks!

I find it hurts less if he beverages are like warm. Even a little cool bothers me. We can be journey buds if you'd like! I was done Wednesday at 2pm! They were so backed up I didn't get to a room til 9pm!

So far I've been getting 40oz water in, I know it's not the total I need but I'm doing the best I can. Also I've been doing 3-4 10 minute walks around me neighborhood so I'm getting the walking in. Protein however, still a struggle.

I've been focusing on water before protein. My stomach can only handle so much but like you've all said, water first. And walking too! Thank you all again. You've been such a huge support throughout my journey!

Success stories, please.
My surgery is tomorrow and I just want to hear some success stories from your first month or 2 after surgery. I keep reading about people freaking out because the weight isn't falling off, so I want to hear stories from people who were content and happy with what and how they lost weight right after surgery. Thanks!

And I lost 15 lbs which I feel good about since I started at 215. Thank you all again so much for your encouragement! I hope I can encourage those of you who still have some time to go! Thanks again!

I'm trying. I found no sodium broths and they are my life. I'm so sick of the shakes because it's just sweets and normally I don't have a sweet tooth to begin with- I crave salt. The no sodium broths are taking the edge off at least!
